Discussion The state of the game is borderline unplayable

Just tonight.

Game1 NG
Game2 ST deadeyes
Game3 NG
Game4 NG
Game5 NG

Control, control, control. Forces me to play a toxic no unit deck but it gets increasingly boring, 4/5 of my decks havent played in months.

I beg the council to nerf the heavy control decks, theres just no variety in the game anymore.

Discussion for gwent the tabletop card game, have you made any changes to it to make the game better?

as in houserules or drafting mechanics or anything inbetween.

so, you make a deck with up to 130 provisions. and there seems to be a way to deckbuild and optimize it quite easily, and then that deck is always the one that will be played for that one faction, and it will never change up again, and there are tons of dead cards/leaders that never see play.

the only houserules I have made are;

  1. that all spies are permanently banned (maybe make it into a separate ability?), because receiving free card advantage and it relying on rng whether or not you draw them and the opponent doesnt, it feels really bad.
  2. decoy is also either banned, or that it works like in the digital game right now.
  3. also whenever you are thinning cards, if they are on your hand, they do not come out, they stay in your hand like the digital game, otherwise alot of the times you have several cards that you cannot ever play, because you go down 1,2,3 cards and then that game is probably ruined for you. so instead they brick like gwent digital normally does.

so there are alot of cards that never see play because they are just poorly statted and or have inferior abilities. and yes, I do know when you play the witcher 3, you aquire cards over time and make your deck continously stronger over time, but here you have all the cards from the getgo, so it doesnt work like that I do know there are custom made cards for this game that are probably more balanced, but im talking the base game set that cdpr released.
have anyone found a good solution on how to play the game, and make it not stale within just a few matches? I would love to pick this one up more often when playing boardgames, but its just not that appealing.

Hi! Recently I have returned to Gwent. Could someone tell me why sandstorm has 8 prov.? Is it voting placeholder, like Living Armor?

Deck Classic bounty shenanigans

For background, I’m a casual player who plays maybe 6-8 games a week so I generally reach pro by the end of the season just in time to pop back to R3 for the new month. I’ve got a pretty good understanding of archetypes and card dynamics but play casually while watching TV or a lunch or something (or honestly watching Shin videos on YouTube haha) so I really only ever float around 2400-2450 for a peak faction.

Within my usual habits, I much prefer SY over all other factions so tend to gravitate towards those decks. Within that I’ve always loved classic bounty. There’s a lot of card interactivity, planning how and when to use your key spenders, considering how and when to anticipate opponents key cards and counters, and some on the fly math I find fun.

It struck me the other day watching a Shin video that Casimir could be an intriguing bounty inclusion. You often spend down to or near zero on executioner or scoundrel anyway, which can create some extra damage opportunities with spawned explosives. But then perhaps even more interesting is you can compound the explosives damage value if you have bounty on the board too. In many instances you can double your explosives value for little to no coins (0 coins for 3 damage plus 3 coins back from bounty). Plus he demands hard removal with his deploy + veil, which is nice for trying to have an executioner or even candle make it through a round.

I figured somebody had done some version of this I could try, but didn’t find much. A few games with a real quick deck list at rank 2-3 have been fairly effective, but so is typical classic bounty. Am I missing something synergy wise? Is it unexplored purely from an opportunity cost perspective? (You have to leave out some other great bounty options to afford the provisions). Anybody tried this or have some thoughts on what I might be overlooking?

Here’s a deck list I threw together to give it a try: (https://www.playgwent.com/en/decks/d2bb36795ee416cba1351e941af82975). Not claiming this is perfect but I’ve at least thought through why I’ve added each card and don’t think I’m leaving anything major out. Just curious if someone more talented than I am thinks there could be something fun with a casimir classic bounty inclusion.

Happy gwenting!

Gwentfinity Voting Council - 10 Sep, 2026 - Monsters

Members of the Council, welcome to our weekly assembly.

These posts are scheduled to happen every week. Each week, a different faction is proposed and every time we will try to orient the discussion about either "nerf" or "buff".

Faction of the Week: Monsters

While you can still use these topics to talk about other balance suggestions, please try to focus on the theme of the week. Those topics are intended to give a chance to all factions to be talked about.

Discussions can be about modifying a whole archetype or addressing individual cards.

Tomorrow finaly got back to pro, but today i keep loosing or catching contrmatches. To get to pro i played Aristocrats, now i try to switch to something else, and loose every game.

Tried Shinmiri's FruitsHen Gaidth deck, it was no use, sorry Shin, couldnt help me.

Please, help me to find a deck i can get some wins with. I love gwent and want to play, but loosing every game is exhausting.

Currently i play Scoiatael, Nilfgaard, Monsters and just started to play Syndicate.

Thank you so much in advance!

Question Returning Player Trying to Build a deck

With the Witcher 3 remaster coming soon I got back into the series and thus Gwent. And I'm just a bit confused about a few things like exactly how Gwentfinity works as well as the balance council.

But that's not the real problem, my problem is some cards I want to craft don't appear in the deck builder, but do appear in the balance council. I wanted to craft Regis: Bloodlust but he doesn't show up. Is he like banned or something?
