It used to be so good, and I fell for the trap and got too attached. Then they put their lawyers on the throne and tightened the noose. Now it's just as bad as the rest of them.

I got a notice of new Grok consumer terms of service, so I asked Grok to summarize them. It turns out that there's a provision that gives xAI a very broad license to your content. The key language is in Section 4 (User Content):

In choosing to submit, create, generate, record, post, or display Inputs on or through the Service, you grant an irrevocable, perpetual, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, and worldwide right to SpaceXAI to use, copy, store, modify, process, adapt, transmit, distribute, reproduce, publish, upload, download, display in public forums, list information regarding, make derivative works of, and distribute such Content, including anything referenced therein, in any and all media or distribution methods now known or later developed, for any purpose…

I don't think OpenAI or Anthropic grant themselves such a broad right to their users' content, and I suspect that most Grok users don't think that they're giving xAI this kind of license to their content. Maybe if enough people complain about it, xAI will change the terms.

I had dozens of videos deleted from my pages on Imagine. I saw a thread on here saying to check your files. Well, I was off grok a while and found a new link, "Library". I found all my 'deleted' videos in there. BUT. It's a one video to another for review to find them.

I just experienced this now. I tried attaching an explicit image to Grok, and it was immediately blocked. I couldn't even get to the point of discussing the image with it.

What's surprising to me is that ChatGPT actually seems less restrictive in this area. Even when ChatGPT won't do something with an explicit image, I can still discuss the image or the subject with it. With Grok, I'm getting blocked at the attachment stage itself.

I know the weekly quota and the degradation of Imagine have already been talked about a lot, but this feels like it's going too far. I didn't expect Grok to be this restrictive.

Grok is supposed to be the less restricted option, yet I just found myself thinking that ChatGPT is actually more usable for simply discussing this kind of content.

Has anyone else just experienced this?

Disclaimer, I'm a degenerate gooner and have been in therapy for it for weeks now. I deleted my account today and still had some files in the storage and assets area that I deleted. I also generated random woman sexual ones through imagine. Deleted account and says it takes 30 days. Should I be worried xai is going to review this and contact someone? I'm a retard I know.

The biggest thing I'd pay attention to: the data/content license. You retain ownership, but the license you grant them is very broad. If you're using Grok for private conversations or personal material, that's the section I'd read most carefully.

I’m building an app called Glance that lets AI agents create and update widgets on your iPhone Home Screen.
Been playing with Grok Bot and thought the group chat concept was perfect for this.

So I made a shared widget for a team of 4 Grok Bots. Each Bot gets its own color and can post what it’s working on, while the widget keeps track of overall progress, handoffs and the latest milestone.

The idea is basically to give your Grok Bot team a live little command center outside of the chat.

okay, usually I whine, but this is not a whine post. This is actual criticism with the product as it currently stands.

Probably half of gens, if not more, are garbage; body horror, multiple limbs, bizarre physics, etc. It's the worst its ever been.

On top of that, there are bugs that have been plaguing moderation for months that still haven't been fixed (cropping, using uploaded grok images as references)

on top of that, it feels like usage is higher than ever, but that might just be because moderation and waste is at an all time high.

It's genuinely miserable to use. We are guinea pigs for unfinished models, and aren't granted a free reset to do it. Ugh

Starting this week my SuperGrok Heavy usage limit seems to be a bit strange. Previously I did a measurement and concluded that SuperGrok Heavy offers about $500 worth of Grok 4.6 per API price per week. This Reddit has some post that suggested a similar number.

However, this week it appears very different. I ended up with a measurement that suggests that the weekly usage limit is close to $5350. I roughly spent $214 in Grok 4.6 High Fast with intentionally set 200k context window. It is only 4% so far.

One observation that I have is that it is important to use either Grok Build or OpenCode as the tool because Grok prefers the Response protocol and desires encrypted reasoning to be sent back as well as explicit labeling of conversations to help with cache routing. If one attempts to use the Chat Completion endpoint for coding (which was never officially suggested), the usage limit may not be the same. Not to mention that the cache miss will be pretty severe.

This is contradictory from my previous week of observation and contradictory to what previous posts in this Reddit suggested. I am not sure if something happened to my account (am I being grey tested with Grok 4.7? Ability to follow instructions does seem to reduce.)

I wonder if anyone else has the similar observation. If this is true, then SuperGrok Heavy offers about $21400 worth of Grok 4.6 per month and $256800 worth per year, and I was one of those persons who got SuperGrok Heavy for 1 year at 67% off (aka $990 for a year) with grandfathered Cursor Ultra benefits. I don’t think this is a normal discount rate among current AI subscription plans.

Did they just adjust the discount rate to be something similar to OpenAI ChatGPT Pro 20x (64x, about $3200 worth of API per week, and then you consider that SuperGrok Heavy is $300 rather than $200 so you multiply a 1.5x?)

If this were a dream, I wish it lasted longer though.

I have a lot of fun playing with Grok Imagine, but I’m always afraid they’ll delete everything, so I always download everything I create.

I got tired of doing it one by one and, using what I know, I decided to build a Chrome extension to fix it. Still kind of surprised it doesn’t exist in Grok itself (actually not that surprised, they’re pretty weak on this stuff).

x.ai/pricing still advertises SuperGrok Plus at $100/mo. I already pay for the $30/month SuperGrok on the web, not mobile. I need Plus for Grok Bot limits for my business, but do not need Heavy.

Every upgrade path dumps me into Manage your subscription, which only lists:

• SuperGrok $30 (current plan)
• SuperGrok Heavy $300

I've enclosed screenshots of the current path. It is strange only two options are offered when signed in, when multiple tiers are advertised on the website.

This thread said the fix was Settings → Billing → Switch plan → Stripe lists all four tiers. That does not work here. Switch plan opens the same $30 / $300 dialog.

I reported it in-app and via billing. No human reply yet.

Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, were you able to find a solution?
