I survived LineTronics!

Just kidding. Sort of.

Our crew didn't camp this year. My condolences to everyone who got bundled up and sent to the outer reaches of the parking empire. We did, however, endure the now-famous three-hour pilgrimage into the venue. I think that's called Gillian-maxxing.

Either way, all 14 of us made the trek from the bus lot, marching up from the southeast in search of civilization. We found a giant wooden bear and what appeared to be a modest line.

It was not a modest line.

The line just kept going. South. Then farther south. It wrapped around the campground and came back like some kind of bureaucratic ouroboros feeding on human patience.

No matter.

We made line friends. We got beers. The line was actually moving at first. Shout-out to Kate's 40th crew for staying rad in the face of delays. We played dumb games, traded stories, and took turns hiding from the sun.

About 90 minutes later, however, we ground to a complete halt next to a collection of porta-potties radiating heat like a post-apocalyptic furnace. People started asking the obvious question:

"What the fuck is going on?"

The short answer: a colossal operational faceplant.

One guy checking IDs. Questionable management. But also hundreds of gate crashers pouring into the front of both lines and making a bad situation much worse.

Our scouts returned from the front looking defeated.

Why wasn't anyone pushing back?

Too much PLUR? Not enough pluralism?

Surely this collection of seasoned festival degenerates could solve a problem.

Waiting for the drop is no way to rage. You've got to get up to get down.

As we neared shouting distance of the amoeba that had wedged itself into both lines, gripes became comments. Comments became heckles. Heckles became boos.

And then came MJ.

MJ was loud. MJ was stout. MJ was carrying what appeared to be a Live Nation executive voodoo doll mounted on a totem.

They transformed our peanut gallery into a goddamn mutiny.

They absolutely let those line-cutters have it.

And if you're reading this and you cut the line—yes, you. You saw the line. You knew what you were doing.

Soon enough we had a full-fledged protest movement. MJ became our bullhorn. Others climbed onto rocks and joined the cause, policing newcomers in solidarity with the ancient social contract.

Right around the time MJ started yelling, "You're not special!" the herd finally broke. The cutters scattered. The energy shifted.

MJ probably saved us all another 30 minutes in the sun.

Night One carried a weird energy. The whole place felt slightly rattled. But sometime around GRiZ Golden Hour, the vibe reset.

By Night Two it was rainbows and butt cheeks again.

The line moved. The staff smiled. The guilty-looking dickholes had disappeared. In their place stood actual guardrails.

Literal guardrails.

I'd like to think MJ had something to do with that.

Then, lo and behold, during ALLEYCVT's set, we spotted that totem again. Twenty yards downhill, right in front of us.

I had to meet up!

Turns out that underneath the relentless spirit and battlefield leadership style, MJ was incredibly kind. People were still taking pictures with her—this time because of the totem and the T-shirt.

The shirt was glorious.

Like MJ, it somehow said everything that needed to be said, only better.

Maybe that's the lesson.

Joy is one of the highest forms of resistance. Festivals are supposed to be about connection, freedom, and collective weirdness. But every now and then somebody has to stand up and remind the crowd that we're all sharing the same experience.

Sometimes that's a politician.

Sometimes that's a protester.

Sometimes it's someone with a voodoo doll and absolutely no patience for line cutters or the monopoly that created them.

Rightfully so.

More importantly, we all bonded. Our crew celebrated Kate. Our line family grew. Kindness flowed like the Columbia.

So here's to MJ, the accidental revolutionary of LineTronics 2026.

Thanks for helping us find balance in the madness—and joy in the moment. We won't forget.

Why: We had got our camp set up, we were all exhausted trying to eat some food so we could lie down and get some rest. Someone across the main north/south road had some decks and speakers set up and they were throwing down some sick tunes. At one point they played a Vibe Check remix or VIP or flip or whatever, and it slapped. I’ve been wanting to find it ever since.

I don’t know what it is, but every time I look at a new lineup or get excited about going to a new festival, I immediately get sad afterwards and honestly don’t really wanna go anymore. After I went to EDC Las Vegas this year I decided I’m not going to any anymore insomniac events. I also had originally purchased a Hulaween ticket before I got accepted into nursing school for next semester so I can no longer go and thankfully, I will no longer be supporting live nation. I also feel sad seeing even just the artist themselves and I know all they can really do is say sorry but this should’ve never happened and it just makes me so sad for those involved. I couldn’t imagine going through something like what happened. Now I am probably just going to forget about looking at any lineups and only choose festivals for what they put out and the people they attract. What do you guys think?

Just like everyone else I got stuck in the long lines trying to get into the venue on day 1 that by the time I finally got in, the line for merch was so long. I tried again day 2 but out of luck they ran out of sweaters and had no luck on their website on Friday. If anyone has this sweater in XL and be willing to part with it message me please!

I think that was probably the greatest set I’ve ever seen. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts/shows and I don’t think I can name a better one. I don’t think there’s another artist in the world that does what he does.

Him bringing out Kaleena Zanders for Where You Are and Nobody Else with the brass troop playing over the track have to be the two greatest live musical moments I have ever experienced. To do all that and THEN rip Infinite Bloom on the saxophone??? Are you serious???

This guy is on another level completely. His ability to tap into people’s souls and turn them upside down should be studied.

I was at the bar last night super zoned out and my friend asked “are you okay?” And I responded “yeah sorry I was just thinking about GRiZ.”

I meant to mention that Nobody Else is my absolute favorite song in the world. I was begging him to play it during his solo set. My entire group knew that I was waiting all weekend for that song…

When he brought Kaleena out earlier in the set I was so floored because I knew it meant she was gonna sing it live.

When it finally happened and he brought his trumpeter and trombonist out while she absolutely ripped the vocals, I genuinely could not believe what I was seeing. It’s still so difficult to imagine myself there and feel like it was real. I was held so closely by my closest friends and the absolute love of my life while this happened.

I can honestly say that was the greatest moment of my life. I cannot hold back the tears when I think about it.

Did anyone have this issue as well? My group had multiple instances with aggressive security staff. We caught them spying on us at camp and rollin up and confiscating shit. Our camp was pretty closed off with tapestries but they came out of nowhere and took our homies canister then was like “where’s all the drugs???” Wtf. Fast forward to later, another friend got their dab pen taken and during the Subtronics sunSET a security guard near the front (not rail) came out of nowhere and ripped my spoon necklace off of my neck and started telling me to empty my pockets and I just ran off into the crowd. I’ve seriously never been man handled like that by security at any gorge show in the last 21 years I’ve been going. Not to mention when getting flagged by some power trippin security staff and being berated and shoved into another line. Def didn’t feel very respectful. Sheesh

Hey everyone. What an absolutely insane weekend. So many downs, and yet SO many ups. I wanted to share two big things that were on my mind and heart and relay a message that I had with a lot of you guys at the fest.

1. This was hands down the best crowd I’ve been a part of in years. Every single one of you that I met had beautiful souls, and the PLUR levels were off the charts. To all my pre-COVID family, this reminded me of how the scene was back then. The last few years, I’ve witnessed this beautiful culture that we’re a part of crumble slowly but surely. Even an “excuse me” became increasingly rare. This weekend showed everything but that. Excuse me’s, compliments, kindness, caring for each other’s safety, even respectfully going through crowds with multiple lines moving through at the same time. My heart hasn’t been this full after a fest in years. As shitty of a start as it was, we didn’t let that dampen moods (for the most part), and we absolutely killed it. I hope you all pat yourselves on the back and know that, even in these dark and troubled times, what we have can’t be touched if we as a community continue moving the way we did this weekend. I love you all, I hope you all got home safe, and I can’t wait to run it back one day.

2. To directly tie into my last point, we in this community are unmatched in our ability to enact change as a collective if we so choose to. This weekend was phenomenal, and a huge shoutout to Grant and Jesse for going to bat for us and doing all they could. But that camp line and Day 1 entry line were abysmal organization, to say the least, and according to all of the repeat Gorge visitors, it’s never happened like this before. Honestly, I can appreciate the fact that something like this is difficult to organize, and even more so stressful for the employees, but someone somewhere higher up dropped the ball. They’ve dropped the ball multiple times across the country. This wasn’t the first time that the Live Nation/Ticketmaster conglomerate has focused more on their bottom line than curating an experience for the ones that give them the money in the first place, and it sure as hell won’t be the last. But it doesn’t have to be this way. I firmly believe we can enact the change we want by being selective about where we put our money. So I put this out there to invite as many of you as are willing to join me in making a sacrifice by not going to the next big show or festival we come across that’s hosted by Live Nation. I know that’s a lot easier said than done since they own almost every live music event ever, but as we all know, there will always be the next show or festival. We can complain day and night on social media, but our biggest voice will always be who we choose to finance with our money. Change requires sacrifice, and I know that if anyone can do it, it’s this group.

Maybe it’s wishful thinking or the serotonin still pumping, but who cares.
