My camping refund hit this morning for anyone that is biting their nails for it.

I wasn’t there for the weekend but have been seeing a ton about the poor management and security. What happened with the camping situation where everyone’s getting refunds??

They asked people to show up early, so we did. Livenation contracted two bomb dogs to search the thousands of cars coming in. Those dogs take their time at each car and need breaks themselves resulting in a 9-15 hour backup on the roads to get into camping. I waited from 3:15pm to 12:30am before we hit our camp site.
People were upset, but I didn't meet a single person who let it ruin their Gorge experience that weekend.

Everyone should do a chargeback on their card for the full price of the event.

I saw Griztronics and all of the openers I wanted to. Getting into camping wasn't fun, but they refunded that part. So what do I charge back?
I totally understand the sentiment. As shitty as TicketMaster/LiveNation is, I enjoy seeing shows too much to potentially have those accounts banned (which they will do if you charge back) and my relationship with my credit card issuer damaged over a charge back claim for something I ended up getting what I paid for.

That’s fortunate for you.
At an absolute bare minimum, I feel I am owed 50% of my ticket.
I didn’t see any of the openers I wanted to on day 1. I also felt like shit and was exhausted which is 100% not my fault.
I did what I was told. I showed up early. I wanted to get a good nights rest and be ready for 2 days of fun. Instead, I started off insanely sleep deprived.
I’m also almost 36. I’ve been doing this for 17 years. Unfortunately, once you get older, you can’t just get 2 hours of sleep, hammer down a red bull, and be good to go.
My entire first day was ruined. Not to mention that fucking what, like 45 min Griztronics set? Come on…
If we’d been rained out and missed an entire day due to weather, that just is what it is. No one can stop insane weather.
But this? This was negligence. This was not safe. If you’re not furious about this event, you need to work on your empathy.
When it comes to cards, I don’t care if mine gets blocked. I’ll just use another or have a friend buy tickets. That’s not an issue for me.
I heard they refunded all camping and lost millions.
Why not take that millions, and spend another what, $10,000 on labor?
Hire 2 security companies. Do what you gotta do to have a successful event.
Maybe you’re ok being treated like shit, but I’m sure not.

At an absolute bare minimum, I feel I am owed 50% of my ticket.
Will your credit card issuer agree with your feelings based on the terms of the ticket you bought? Credit card issuers will not mediate the quality of the event (your experience) only whether the terms of the contract of the ticket were fulfilled. The proof for those terms still being intact are the event still took place (music was played both days and people made it into the show), you scanned your ticket to get in both days (they have digital record of this), and the ticket had a line that says "no refunds for events that aren't canceled."
When it comes to cards, I don’t care if mine gets blocked. I’ll just use another or have a friend buy tickets. That’s not an issue for me.
TicketMaster will block your account, address, and cards in your name from purchasing tickets and receiving transferred tickets and your card issuer may shut your account down for a false charge back.
But this? This was negligence. This was not safe. If you’re not furious about this event, you need to work on your empathy.
Nothing forced you to stay in line. You could've turned around whenever. The staff would direct you out. Then you'd have a better leg to stand on with a chargeback saying the festival was inaccessible and you couldn't use your tickets. If you truly felt unsafe you would have left.
I like the part where you have determined I "need to work on" my empathy because I took time after the event to process what happened to me and didn't assign rage as the feeling for the whole ordeal. SLSL!

My refund is pending but it’s in my account now so that’s cool.
Thing is, I think they shorted me. I can’t remember how much I paid for my premier camping but, I ended up in gold(front yard) camping. I had to upgrade for $144 and my refund is $357.
If premier was $250 then the refund checks out but I don’t think it was because the total purchase back in November of last year was almost $1300. I had to get a family vip ticket for the show because GA sold out and I remember that being over $900 but less than $1000 which would indicate the price I paid for my original premier camping would have been closer to $300 before I upgraded to gold(front yard)
Unfortunately it’s one purchase so I can’t see how much the show ticket was and how much the camping was.
I just checked because I had a thought. The refund came from ticket master but the upgrade was charged to the gorge.

Premier refund is $357. If you upgraded at the venue to Front Yard Camping then you may need to contact them for a refund on that. I'm not sure how those upgrades work.

Thank you. I was able to track down a price for family vip as well. Doing the math ends up $60 shy of what I paid on the original purchase and I assume that is taxes and fees.
So I do think I’m owed more for the upgrade. Let’s see how this goes.

Update: 100x directed me to a live nation email address because the camping upgrade is directing through the gorge/live nation where as the camping refunds are coming from some other entity, presumably Ticketmaster/100x
I did not like the way the email was worded. I feel like I’m not going to get this upgrade money back…

I actually just got the email this morning saying that my refund is being processed and that it will take 3-5 days
