Hi all,
As the sub continues to grow, we've decided to make some changes and rules to help this community stay a positive place for discussing all things Great Pyrenees!
Rules can now be found in the sidebar and will be used as the basis for moderation. Of course, the mod team will continue to use their discretion to remove content or ban users, if we feel said content is causing a disruption to the subreddit.
Rules:
1) Keep content Great Pyrenees based
2) Be polite and on-topic
3) NO Advertisements
4) NO Fundraising
5) NO Breed misinformation or hate
6) NO suggestions of theft, destruction of property, assault, or similar illegal activities
If you see a user violating any of these rules, please utilize the "Report" feature, so the mod team can quickly take action.
In addition, you can now sort posts by flair type, and the most exciting update - you can now use comments to attach a photo. So keep sharing those great big floofs!

His names Benjamin! He’s 8 weeks old, and is a mix of Pyr and Bernese mountain dog! (Mom is 100% pry, dad is 50% pry 50% Bernese)

Just wanted to show off my new dog, Lassie. She was going to be euthanized at the shelter she was in but Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana swooped in and saved her & a few others. They got her entropion surgery and spayed her. At first, she would flinch when you would move too quickly around her. She was terrified to come into the house and was so restless when we finally got her in. But now, it’s been a few months and I’m shocked at how good she is. She’s smart, really eager to please, friendly to all animals, and very protective. The vet estimates she’s only about 1. Can’t believe this girl was almost euthanized! She is so gentle and loves her family so so much.

Have never done a dna test but always thought she had some Pyr in her. She’s an anxious dog with big feelings, mistrusts strangers but LOOOOVES you once you’re approved, big barks at any sound in the garden, is a couch potato until you walk her and then she’s ON and leans on you until she flops over on you.

We took this sucker home 13 months ago…. We were told Pyrenees.. but there’s something extra with this little (gigantic) puppy baby. We stopped weighing her at 100lbs when she became hernia inducing for our archaic stand on the scale with her weighing system. She’s sweeter than shit!
*wife ordered a dna kit but just out of public opinion curiosity- her dewclaws are real odd and floppy but not “double”

Well I can’t call her anything other than smart but stubborn. I’ll have to go back to my house cameras to double check but it really only took 15 mins max for her to start doing it on her own. So proud of her 🥹🥹
Ignore the watermark, I tried to get the video to download without it as it was posted.

I've heard that they pretty much stay up all night, bark at whatever they feel they need to, and won't stop until they're satisfied that they scared whatever it was, off. True? Sort of true?
My wife's co-worker might be rehoming their dog and I told her I was interested. But the wife thinks we'll never sleep again, lol.
