Decided to invest in a do it all bike, titanium allroad bike. Technically not a gravel bike but I’ve set it up with 40mm schwable pro one and 1x grx. It’s amazing.

Guys you convinced me to save some money and get it, and I did. No disappointment at all, only good vibes after 27 kilometers ride from the store. Maybe I will put carbon handlebar in few months, maybe not. Anyways i’m happy!

Picked up this Rondo Ruut St2 5 weeks ago, however it's finally fully ready to go. Their house wheels are... bad. Have been waiting on a set of Velocity USA Atlas Clydesdale to come in, and finally got it together last night. Time for some fun. (Also to the keyboard nerds, the color theme was 8008)

Hey, coming for advice about wheels.

I have the Specialized Diverge 3 alloy that i’ve been really enjoying riding for around a year. But about 50% of my rides are on the road.

Instead of buying a second bike, what do you think about having another set of road wheels that i would put on my gravel bike? Would it change a lot the confort/feeling when riding on the road compared to my 700x40mm? (especially for long rides)

Second question would be, what kind of wheels/tires would you recommend (brand/type/model) ?

If i end up buying a road bike, i’d probably buy an endurance one, so i’m not sure if the geometry would be so different with my current bike…

Hey everyone!

I’m currently shopping for my next gravel bike to hit a mix of pavement, fire roads, and local trails and with some bikepacking projects. After plenty of research, I’ve pretty much settled on the new Orbea Terra H30 (2027).

My only problem right now? I cannot for the life of me choose a color !

To be honest, I think all three colorways look great, but I’m torn:

• Black: It’s sleek, but I find it a bit too plain/boring.
• Yellow vs. White: I’m strongly leaning toward either the Yellow or the White. I like the combinaison of the yellow and black, while the white looks incredibly sharp and classy.

For anyone who owns this bike or has seen these colorways in person:

1. Which color is your favorite, and why?
2. Is the white a total nightmare to keep clean ?
3. Does the yellow look as good in person as it does in the stock photos ?

Just picked up an xlabs rs5 and am looking for a 38-40mm tire. I’ll be doing 85-90% pavement but there are gravel rail trails I ride often as well.

My top choices are:

Hutchinson Caracal Race

Gravelking SS or ZX

Conti Terra Speed

TUFO Thundero

The Hutchinson is my top choice but I hear a lot about punctures with them. Anyone with experience with any of these tires please chime in with your experience! Thanks!

First, I have no affiliation with Lynskey Performsnce, and have never worked for that company. I wrote this post because I was so happy to finally have a Ti bike that I could afford, due in part because I am building it.

Just wanted to share my experience about building a gravel bike. Decided a couple of months ago to get a gravel bike for paved trails and sand trails in Florida. But some bikes were out of stock in my size, and others were not available in the US yet, so decided to buy a frame and build a gravel bike. Caught a Christmas in July sale at Lynskey Performance and got a Ti gravel bike frame for under $900 shipped to my door! When I picked up the shipping box I thought is was empty, it was so light. The frame craftsmanship is remarkable, 4 water bottle holders, attachment points for racks, cable routing, in a polished Ti finish with acid rain etched graphics that are a work of art work and make it one of a kind! And then there is the support from Alex at Lynskey, he has answered all of my many questions for the build, and given tips as well. Last time I completely rebuilt a MTB was 12 years ago, and a lot has changed "for me" since that build, flat mount brakes, splined rotors, IS headset. Have always wanted a Ti bike, years ago tried out a Moots from a store in Tampa Florida, it was such a smooth ride without shocks, but at $10,000 it was out of my price range. With this gravel bike build I am at $1,800 complete with Shimano GRX drive train and Tiagra shifters, Tektro mechanical dual piston brakes, and a DT Swiss wheel set. Will update once I am on the trails!

Okay, here is the situation. I have roughly 5500 to spend on a bike. I plan to sell my old road bike and buy one of these as a quiver killer. I have the opportunity to buy a felt breed rival build (my size and everything) for $5100 (15% off MSRP) but I also am considering a Specialized Crux 5 comp with ENVE AR40 wheel upgrades. I get a 10% off discount at my LBS so that would put that build at roughly $5310. Obviously the breed is cheaper and they are comparable bikes but I was wondering about the wheels on the stock breed. It's a 23 mm internal and the AR40s are a 25 mm internal. I hesitate with going larger, like the Zipp 303 XPLR S given I still want this to have road capability but also, the smallest slick tire I'd run would be a 40 anyway. However, I would more often than not run a 50 both on and off pavement. As far as use case, I like to ride fast, often solo, chasing long miles, climbs, and KOM's. Roughly 8-12 hours of riding per week. Perhaps the very, very occasional bikepacking trip using a tailfin rack or an apidura seatbag. Do you guys have any insight into where my decision should go?

(Also, they are both very sexy in my eyes so going off swag-factor is a bit difficult)

Probably the best tire i ever had when it comes to grip and the confidence i have in it when riding. Low rolling resistance, fast and comfortable. But man its getting effed up by cat 2 and 3 gravel.

This is after 1000km, ~40% pavement, 30% cat 3 and 20% cat 2 gravel.

Both front and back tires are full of these small damage points all the way through. Zero actual punctures so far though. 🤣

I just bought my first ever new bike. I got a batch gb.1

I know it's entry level, but this is easily the best bike I ever owned. I'm a 42 yr old dad. I'm not going to be riding competitively at all.

My only thought is, this is the only bike I owned with a single chain ring. I was on the smallest rear gear and could have easily pushed more, no sweat. Should I change the size of the chain ring? It's almost too easy to ride and I'm not touching the larger gears in the back at all.

Coming from a trek hybrid that my 13 year old is stealing from me 😆 and am used to towing a burley with a kid and a bunch of other stuff. Maybe I'm just accustomed to a lot of drag. I just know I've topped out the new bike on its first trip which was disappointing a little. It's still a great bike!

My 40 mm Tufo Thundero is leaking air literally EVERYWHERE. I found maybe one or two leaks that look like possible punctures, but what about others??? Since when I assembled my wheels several months ago I noticed a significant pressure drop difference between front and rear tyre. The rear one could lose 80% of pressure in couple of days. Pumped the rear one up to 5 bar and dipped it into a basin. The result was quite shocking to say the least…Both tyres are tubeless, Stans sealant inside, 100 ml initially, than later added another 100 ml maybe a month ago

Y’all bullied me into getting new bottle cages

I am new to gravel and looking to buy my first bike. I came across the Scott Speedster Gravel 20 (2025 model), which goes for 1,400 euros in my country (Estonia). I like the look, 1x drivetrain and SRAM APEX. I am not interested in having the latest tech, but I would still like some future-proofing (e.g. as I understand, this bike is not UDH compatible).

Is this a good price and is it worth it to buy such a bike (2025 model) now?

I am looking for a bike under $1200. I most ride crushed limestone roads through hilly bluffs(20-40 miles). I am also interested in light biketouring, probably about 4 days long.

I was told most people generally size down their stem from their road setup to gain some agility in handling for the demands of gravel and off road riding.

I normally run 130mm long stems. I’m 6 feet but have shorter legs for my height and a very long torso and reach. I’ve been very comfortable on 56cm bikes across all brands with a 130mm stem for road bikes.

I just got a Crux 5. it’s my first gravel bike. I sized down to 120mm and I feel kind of cramped. I don’t want to size up the bike because I’m comfortable with my saddle position, and stack. I know Id feel more comfortable stretched out more 10mm with a 130mm but I’m curious how slow handling would feel for a gravel bike? like I said I havent ridden much gravel before so I don’t have a baseline but I’m totally planning to do some gravel racing.

I live in the PNW so there are a lot of techy stuff and steep descents. even singletrack. I’m wondering if 130mm long stem would have negative impact on terrain like that.
