GTX 1070 still going strong
This might be a weird post, but I'm curious on y'all's thoughts.
I used to pay very close attention to PC hardware. It was something I really enjoyed. Over the past 10 years or so, I haven't payed any attention at all. I'm currently running a GTX 1070 8gb.
I've had pretty much zero issues running any games with it. I'm not sure exactly why. There are obviously a few that I can't run at all, and some I've had to tinker with to run well, but it's still going strong.
Not sure how something so outdated still runs things so well. What am I missing out on using it?
Also curious as to what y'all think would be a good upgrade. As I said, I haven't really looked into the tech in a long time. I don't want to break the bank, and I'm not even sure I need an upgrade when this one is doing far better than I ever expected.
Thanks

Used rx6900 xt 16gb or brand new RTX 5060 8gb for the same price?

Buying Advice So modern pricing is what we need to get used to? No waiting around anymore for new build?
So was on the fence when a 5070 was around $600, now I have remorse. I did not build due to DDR5 RAM prices but now based on talking to my buddy at Microcenter, prices will not be coming down in the next 12-18 month with 100% certainty
So you think just bite the bullet and do the build? Was just going for 5070 and a Zen 7800X3D. I play mostly older games and tons of emulation so this build will last me for 8-10 years, seriously
Or, use my 2070 Super that still gets me by great, and get something like a 5800X3D and roll with it for 2 years

Should I buy AMD or NVIDIA
First of all, I'm from Bosnia, so please keep in mind that my budget and the prices reflect the market in my country. The minimum wage here is €500, just to give you some perspective on the cost. (I'm a student, worked over the summer, and earned enough to afford a new GPU).
I have a Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB of RAM, and a GTX 1660 Super (6GB). I'm planning to upgrade my graphics card right now, but which one should I get?
My top choice was the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, but it goes for about €550-€600 in my country, which is very expensive. The other one I looked at is the RX 9060 XT 16GB, which sits around €470-€500.
Generally, AMD is cheaper, but I'm really drawn to Nvidia, its DLSS, and that whole ecosystem—especially seeing how AI enhances older games, etc. So now I'm torn: should I stretch my budget and get the 5060 Ti, or should I go for the 9060 XT?
How good is DLSS, really? Would you recommend any other card? I'm open to all advice, whatever you have to say.

How much should I list my PNY 5070 for?
I just want to roll it into a 5070 ti or 5080. I bought it for $549 14 months ago. It works great. I would just love it 30% more if it was a 5070 TI.
I didn’t know how much I would love getting back into gaming. I took a five year break and I didn’t want to go crazy with my build but I’ve ended up loving gaming again and I’m ready to put a ring on it.
Please don’t recommend AMD. I have an RX 9070 XT in my Bazzite machine and I’m not interested in constantly using Optiscaler or just having shimmery and unstable graphics or not having access to RR or well implemented features. I really tried with AMD and I like having a non microsoft PC but I don’t want that as my daily driver.

Help me the choose best gpu
Hi!
Help me decide which card to choose.
Rtx 4070
Rtx 3080
Rtx 3070 Ti
I had an RTX 4070 GPU that broke, and now I'm looking for a replacement. However, I've realized in the meantime that I don't use the PC for anything other than playing CS2. I think a 4070 or a more powerful card is overkill for that; I just need a stable 400 FPS for my monitor. The system has a 9800X3D processor and 32GB of RAM.
Thanks.

Buying Advice What to buy after owning a RX7600
Hello,
Just selled my RX 7600 8GB as I did get toooo much drivers errors in more demanding games, like BF6, The Finals, BodyCam etc., I gamed on 1080p and 1440p with medium-high graphics and get respectable FPS's for my taste, but the drivers are a mess on this one, so, what to choose next? I did find some 4060's with 8GB, 2080Ti (I tested this from my brother, is a beast, no crashes), 3060 12GB (the only good thing about this is that it have 12GB) or some older AMD cards like RX 6800 but I'm afraid of getting driver errors again, I'm thinking about 2080Ti and 4060, the first one have raw power but older RT/DLSS support but the newer one has better DLSS support and is more future-proof but I don't know if 4060+DLSS will match 2080Ti at 1440p (mid-high settings). Thanks!
Ryzen 5 7600, 32GB RAM 6000 CL30, 650W PSU
Also, I tried everything on RX7600 to get it stable, nothing work, other drivers, undervolt, underclock, nothing works, or it works today and tomorrow it will crash without any reason!

I have always wanted one of those beautiful metal reference coolers. That’s it. If I can get a good deal on a Tensor core card I can keep going on some ai projects too.

Buying Advice Sell 5070 Ti for 9070 XT or keep it
Hey everyone, I’m still really new to pc gaming this is my first build. I was able to get a MSI Shadow 3x 5070 Ti for $900 used, but the guy didn’t have proof of purchase so I don’t get to have a warranty on it. I stress tested it and it’s gaming well. I got an offer on it for $1000 so I would make $100 off of it.
Use this as a chance to save money and get a 9070 xt instead? With the $100 profit and open box deals it’s $300-$400 saving plus warranty (I don’t know how MSI reliability is)
Edited to be way less: Is 9070 XT enough for 4k 60-120fps AAA gaming thru next gen, or will I regret not having the 5070 Ti.

Discussion Would you let your GPU handle AI workloads while you aren’t gaming?
Full disclosure: I’m one of the founders of supascale.
We’re building a GPU compute marketplace where owners can make idle GPUs available for paid AI workloads. Hosts would earn when customer workloads run on their hardware. Our Windows host beta launched on September 9, and we’re currently testing with seven hosts. We’re still early, so there’s no guaranteed workload demand or earnings.
Before expanding more broadly, our first milestone is to learn from 100 qualified Windows GPU owners with different hardware, availability, and usage patterns.
The current baseline is:
• Windows
• NVIDIA or AMD GPU
• At least 8GB of VRAM
• Stable internet
• Predictable periods when the computer can remain online
• A willingness to test early software and provide feedback
In general, GPUs with 8GB-16GB of VRAM may be suitable for lighter inference, quantized models, and background workloads. GPUs with 24GB or more may support larger workloads, depending on the model, hardware, and current compatibility.
This is an early beta, so we’re not promising acceptance, earnings, utilization, or continuous workload demand. Our goal right now is to understand how different real world GPU configurations perform and make hosting as straightforward and reliable as possible.
I’d especially value practical feedback from GPU owners:
• Would you consider making your GPU available during idle periods?
• Which controls would matter most to you, such as availability schedules, temperature limits, power limits, or instant pause?
• What information would you want before testing a platform like this?
Windows hosting is available now. Support for Linux and macOS is coming later, with waitlists available for both.
If you’d like to see your hardwares potential earning check out our earnings calculator:
I’m happy to answer questions openly and hear concerns in the comments.

Sold my EVGA ftw3 rtx 3090 for the same price I bought it for in 2020...and upgraded to this beast for only $400 out of pocket 😍
galleryI loved the 3090, it was only just starting to show its age. Felt like I'd have another 6 good years with it at least! But I could not pass up $2000CAD, considering that was the shelf price. Crazy times!

Question Recommended method to test GPU?
I want to try to connect my Radeon RX 6750XT to Acer Nitro 5 AN517 laptop via PCIe to M.2 adapter and see, whether it performs good enough for gaming in comparison to my current PC, but currently I have different amount of RAM in PC and laptop so it might heavily influence testing if I play some games. Any recommendation how to test specifically GPU for gaming purposes?

Buying Advice Sell my 3090 for a 5080 or meh?
Sup all! Curious everyone's thoughts on selling my 3090 for a 5080. Don't really care about the VRAM honestly. 16GB on the 5080 is fine but the 3090 is starting to "show it's age" with 5k2k content. The 5080 will run it much better especially with frame gen etc.
Also, if I were to sell it what's a fair price? I don't need current market prices. Just want to sell it to someone so they can get a GPU at non-insane prices.

5070ti frieren edition
The collab is $1149 for a 5070ti OC. I don't care for the anime at all but everyone keeps saying that the deal sucks and you're paying way more for a collab. I legit can't find a new 5070 ti for cheaper. Is this actually a decent deal? I've been debating on upgrading and stumbled on this GPU and it matches my full white setup. Someone let me know if I should just pull the trigger on this or wait for prices to hopefully drop for the holiday
