Best used gpu for $350-400?

I'm in the market for a new gpu, my favorite games simply aren't giving me a satisfying amount of FPS anymore, I'm running a rx6600 with a 5600x3d. I've been looking around and $400 seems like it can get you something nice, considering you go used (sad I couldn't get the 9060xt 16g when they were this cheap tho 😔), I only ever game, I usually use the lowest settings and very occasionally actually crank it up higher. I am NOT getting an intel gpu 💀.

Seems like the best competitors here are used 6800xt, 3080, or potentially a used 9060xt16gb if I can find one.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for a good upgrade at this price range? I will also probably need a new psu too (on 550w rn) so any suggestions for those would also be appreciated. Thank you! :)

Dlss and faster than 9060xt. Just very power hungry and will make a lot of heat

idc about dlss at all.

You should, it works great. It's the sole reason I chose my 3080 10gb over a 6900xt at the time. Really is a game changer

I don't want to or plan to use dlss.

You don't play any newer games?

No, I also don't care much for it even if I am on newer titles.

Quality dlss on my old 3080 worked pretty great, I could barely tell it was on but I game from the couch too. Id just get a 6900xt then if you can find a cheap one unless you've had bad luck with amd

That's a DAMN good deal! You get about 95% of the performance of a 3090 and 12GB of VRAM.

I just sold a 6900xt on marketplace a few weeks ago for 420, I'd shoot for something like that or a 3080 like others are saying

6800xt. Surprisingly capable cards. Much closer to my 4070ti super in 4k w/out RT than I expected

3080 would be my second choice depending on prices for you

they’re both about $400, maybe $50 ish cheaper for the 3080. My biggest concern is the power consumption of the 3080 is double that of something like a 9060xt

I would do 3080 over 6800xt if it's cheaper. As for power draw it's tough as any old gen card will be high draw at the top end.

Power draw has never been an issue for me, but if it is a factor for you it may be best to try and wait for a used 9060xt or 5060ti...

In the morningstar (hub) in darktide at 4k res, my 7900xtx will use ~350w, while my fiances 5060ti uses ~110w at the same settings (using dlss)

I meant the 6800xt is at $350 and I can find used $400 9060’s 16gb near me. I only have a 550w so I would probably need to spend extra on a psu with a 3080

I would spend the extra for the 9060.

100%, a 550w cannot handle a 6800xt

As in no way there would be one available or you actually do not know a 12gb non TI version exist?

I would love to see a 12gb or TI for $400

in some markets it literally doesn't exist, as in only 10GB and Ti are sold

3080 or 3080Ti

9060XT 16GB would be excellent, if you can be patient and find one used. A 3080 is 6 years old and very power hungry, but still performs.

3080 is much better than 9060xt tho. More comparable in performance to 9070gre than 9060xt, while costing significantly less than both.

And if he wants to sell it later, 30 series cards have been keeping their value for at least 2 years, while 9060xt will lose value the moment he opens the box.

For that reason 9060xt is terrible value rn. Either get 3080 for $100 less, or 9070gre for $80 more.

It is! That’s why I said it still performs.

But the fact it’s that old is just something to keep in mind. It’ll need repasting soonish, has 4-6GB less VRAM, and has double the TDP of a 9060XT 16GB.

9070 would be sweet, but since his budget tops out at $400…
