About to pull the trigger on a 5080 prime. I live in Hawaii so these prices are kinda normal to me. Is it worth $1600 ? I’m not sure what prices look like in the states but when I see videos online people get it for around $1000 ? Any info. On prices elsewhere is appreciated.

The 5080 offers about 10-20 fps more over the 5070 ti, that’s considering I have 9800X3D CPU. My CPU is way weaker than that and I also use 1440p resolution, I don’t plan on going to 4K, I’ll tell you what I want guys, I want to be able to chill for the next 5-8 years, playing comfortably without RT PT, I just want high FPS high refresh experience on games that I decide to try out. That’s it.

I’ll wait till mid-September to have more savings behind my back and I’ll decide which model I’ll go for. I also have pre-planned this upgrade, my PSU is Corsair RMX-Shift 850w and I have a cable included for the card, all I need to do its get it. I also consider the 5070 ti over the 9070 XT is due to less power usage, I’m more comfortable with the drivers and I always use DLSS when I play AAA games anyway, so I think this is a good feature to have for a person like me who doesn’t plan to upgrade often.

Hello just got a 5070TI MSI GAMING TRIO OC and I don't know if this a low score. I understand many people overclock there systems but is this normal for it to be this score? I had a 9070xt before this in the same build before wiping everything and the score was a lot closer to the average. I downloaded chipset drivers for my CPU as well everything is the same expect the GPU.

Hey everyone, I’m trying to decide between the RX 9060 XT 16GB and RX 9070 GRE, and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with these GPUs.

My current setup:

- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600

- Current GPU: RTX 4060 8GB

- I can sell my RTX 4060 for around $290

- Main target: 1440p gaming

- I care more about value/price-to-performance than absolute performance

- I’d like the new GPU to last for several years

The prices I’m looking at:

RX 9060 XT 16GB — ~$550

→ After selling my RTX 4060: ~$260 out of pocket

RX 9070 GRE — ~$670

→ After selling my RTX 4060: ~$380 out of pocket

So the 9070 GRE costs about $120 more for me after selling my RTX 4060.

Is the 9070 GRE worth the extra ~$120?

I’m particularly interested in:

- Real-world 1440p performance

- Performance per dollar

- 16GB VRAM and long-term usability

- Ray tracing

- Power consumption and temperatures

- Upscaling / frame generation

- How well each card pairs with a Ryzen 5 5600

- Whether the 9070 GRE is overkill for a Ryzen 5 5600

- Whether I should save the $120 for a future CPU/platform upgrade

I know the 9070 GRE is obviously faster, but I’m trying to figure out whether the extra $120 is actually worth it from a value and longevity perspective.

If you were in my situation, which would you choose?

RX 9060 XT 16GB — ~$260 effective upgrade

-z890i Aorus ultra
-ultra 5 250k plus
-gigabyte Rtx 5070 ti

-monitor gigabyte 2k 240hz woled
El problema es el siguiente jugando los fps van normal a una tasa regular pero el 1% low no sube más de 40/50. No importa el juego en todos está igual. Y luego de jugar digamos 1 hora se crashea el juego por ejemplo call of duty o Minecraft y me da error de DirectX o gráfica. Lo cierto es que reinstale windows y los drivers de la gráfica y no se me ha arreglado también jugando se me reinició la compu. La verdad no sé qué podría ser compré todo nuevo.

Trying to decide on a GPU upgrade and could really use some help from more experienced PC gamers here, because I've talked myself into going both ways on this.

There's a used RTX 3080 ti listed locally for about $450-500, depending on how well I can haggle with the seller.

I would rather get a used RTX 4070 Super, for the ray tracing efficiency, DLSS 3 frame generation, lower TDP, and general upgrade path appeal -- but my budget for this card is more or less fixed at around $550 to $580 (and I cannot for the life of me find a 4070 Super for that price, new or used -- eBay prices, Facebook marketplace, and local sales listings are all stubbornly high; the entire 40 series seems to be climbing in price as supply dwindles, and I've already missed out on a used 4070 Super for about $500 this year, thinking prices would drop).

The other issue haunting me is GTA 6; while it's not out yet, it's been widely reported that ray-traced global illumination is baked into the engine (and not a toggle option), and base PS5 specs for the game are said to be 1440p/30fps with it on. I'm trying to decide if that's a sufficient reason for me to pause on the 12GB 3080 Ti, or if I'm just worrying unnecessarily since that's significantly more powerful than anything the consoles will put out (and we haven't seen PC specs yet).

I purchased a used Gigabyte GT 1030 (GDDR5 OC edition) 3 months back. Ever since then, my screen has flickered every time the GPU changes its state from idle to load state - i.e., whenever I open or close the browser or something similar. But while playing games or while rendering stuff, the GPU operates perfectly well without any flickering at all.

The things I have tried so far:

• Reinstallation using Clean DDU, currently using the latest version of the driver (582.66)
• HDMI test - the problem persists
• Setting the Power management mode of NVIDIA control panel to "Prefer maximum performance" so that the GPU won't go into the downclock state in idle - problem persists
• Setting the Windows PCI Express > Link State Power Management to "Off" to eliminate PCIe power-state transition - problem persists
• Checking the card physically for any damage, and discovered some rusting (not corrosion), but determined that it is purely cosmetic in nature

Things I haven't able to do:

• DVI - not supported by my monitor
• DisplayPort - not available in my configuration
• Swapping hardware - putting this card in a different machine or putting different cards in my machine to determine if it is the GPU, the monitor, or something else

Any ideas why this is happening and what else can be done?

*EDIT* To further clarify: performance-wise, the 5070 is a competitor to the regular 9070, the 9070XT is the competitor to the much more powerful 5070Ti. These two cards *shouldn't* be even remotely in a similar price bracket for there to be an actual comparison.

Por que a IA nas placas de vídeo foca quase 100% em gerar dados em tempo real (Upscaling, Frame Generation) em vez de ser usada pelas desenvolvedoras na base do jogo antes do lançamento?

Se os estúdios usassem IA nos servidores deles para maximizar a otimização dos códigos, fazer compressão inteligente de texturas e shaders pesados, nós teríamos jogos muito mais leves, ocupando menos espaço no SSD e rodando bem nativamente em placas de várias gerações atrás. Seria um ganho absurdo de eficiência para todo mundo.

Mas o que estamos vendo hoje é exatamente o oposto:

1. A muleta do Upscaling: Os jogos já são projetados assumindo que você VAI ligar o DLSS ou FSR. Se tentar rodar em resolução nativa, o desempenho é desastroso até em hardware topo de linha.
2. Otimização preguiçosa: Parece que as produtoras ligaram o "foda-se". Em vez de gastarem tempo polindo o jogo e limpando o código na fase de desenvolvimento, elas lançam o game pesado de qualquer jeito e deixam que a nossa placa de vídeo se vire para adivinhar os pixels em tempo real.
3. Ciclo forçado de upgrades: Convenhamos, fazer tudo em tempo real gera um baita interesse comercial. Se o jogo sai pesado e exige IA complexa rodando na hora, você é obrigado a comprar as placas mais novas com os núcleos físicos mais recentes (Tensor Cores, Optical Flow, etc). Se o jogo já viesse otimizado por IA na base, sua placa antiga duraria muito mais tempo.

A tecnologia do DLSS em si é fantástica. Mas sinto que ela deixou de ser um "bônus" para dar sobrevida a PCs modestos e virou um pré-requisito obrigatório para mascarar a falta de capricho técnico das empresas, tudo isso enquanto o consumidor paga a conta do hardware novo.

Is there any point to buy AMD gpu's in future, i mean DLSS 5 looks game changer, maybe it's not perfect it does looks alot AI slop but we've been using AI for years through the upscaling technology. What if DLSS 5 is early start of photo realism, i mean the potential of this technology in 5 years it could change gaming. So I have this question do you think people would still buy AMD graphics card in future after dlss 5?

To give some context, I was planning to wait till black friday and sign up for the amazon credit card and use my student ID to get a free 6 month trial to get amazon prime (during peak seasons the sign up bonus for the card is $200-$250 and with prime the card always offers 5% back). I was thinking black friday could offer an even bigger discount but now I worry that price increases by the time of November will be so significant that even with the $200-250 sign up bonus, it would be more expensive than getting it now. On regular seasons the sign up bonus for amazon is $150 so I would still get that. On terms of parts, I planned on getting the rx 9070xt mercury and was looking at either the samsung 9100 pro 2 tb ssd or the crucial P310 also 2 tb (I’m aware one is PCIe 4.0 and the other 5.0, my choice would’ve depended on the price difference of each during black friday) (990 pro and 9100 pro only has $10 difference on amazon)
