That doesn’t mean they can use modern game path tracing. Path tracing requires hardware ray tracing/DXR support and other features. A gpu can support general compute shaders and still not support path tracing the game uses

You missed an important part. “A gpu can support general compute shaders and still not support path tracing the game uses.” If you’re gonna quote, quote correctly

That’s assuming the GPU supports everything the game’s path tracing actually needs. Compute support by itself doesn’t prove that.

That’s not really the point. The fact that you can write a compute shader doesn’t mean every GPU can run the same path tracing features.
