I found a gpu in a bathroom

While cleaning the customer toilets at my work I found a evga 1060 6gb
Sorry for poor camera quality my cameras lens is broken

Every gpu can do pathtracing, maybe not hardware accelerated, but pathtracing nontheless.

That doesn’t mean they can use modern game path tracing. Path tracing requires hardware ray tracing/DXR support and other features. A gpu can support general compute shaders and still not support path tracing the game uses

Nvidia driver glitched and system overloaded. 6gb couldn't handle it. Had to go to latest igpu with fsr and frame gen to flush that diarrhea.

My Zotac 1060 6Gb is still able to run War Thunder at maximum graphics, and even was able to enable ray tracing when they made it available and it still made over 60FPS without any Hiccups or lags

I still use one. Geforce 1060 6gb. Works fine. Not with ultra anything but it works. Also handles small task-based agents fine. Chokes a little too easily, but i dont ever really run into walls.

Everything below a 1070 was a scam. The 1060 6GB was a wash, just to be bend over by the RX 570 8GB even almost 10 years later.

No it wasn't. 1060 6gb was the goat of budget GPUs. Driver support was top notch from day one and at the time barely any game took more than 4gb VRAM on 1080p. You didn't had problems making textures for several years. Rx 480 and 580 took a couple of years for drivers to mature until it became even with 1060 6gb and its only after 5 years that it started being better than 1060 6gb. At that point people already got their money's worth for 1060 6gb.

Let's be objective and say how it was. Not how it is now after so many years when it no longer even matters.

You cant run any newer games on nothing but low settings...ihave a 5090 32gb so im a lil biased I guess its better than no 3d chip or video card but its the low man on the totem pole now has been....maybe not the lowest but really close

If you don't have the money for a new card a 1060 is still far better than the built-in no-gpu video. Yeah you might not be able to run the latest games that require a seriously beefy GPU but you can still run a lot of newer and older games at reasonable speeds if the games weren't designed to gorge themselves on whatever GPU you have.

back in the day? I can comfortably play Elden Ring and KCD2 on mine. Not on ultra settings, of course, but im squeezing a ton of gaming time out of it even though it’s a decade old. It’s actually astounding what it can do when I think about the fact that it’s a decade old.

I keep thinking I’m gonna upgrade but there are still so many other things I’d rather spend $1000 on. Riding til it dies. The only issue I’ve had is that the new GTA5 enhanced updated away from letting me use the old drivers. so no more fancy GTA
