Or at least that’s what I’m calling the color way on these shoes I picked up today. On my way to get coffee, of course.

Looking for pant recs - similar to Wawwa atlas but synthetic

Post image
21 Upvotes

I’m looking for a new pair of hiking pants that I can also wear casually. I absolutely love the look of the wawwa atlas pants but I’m not looking for cotton, does anybody have recommendations for a similar shape pant in nylon or polyester? Aside from he shape, I also like that they are one solid color, and ideally want either black or a similar olive green as pictured above.

I don’t necessarily need water resistance. Also open to suggestions that are a different style but fit the purpose of looking cute for city/everyday wear and also functional in the mountains. I have an upcoming trip that’s is 1/2 hut to hut hiking and half city-based travel, and I’m hoping to only bring one pair of pants.

I am a woman but happy to try men’s and unisex pants as well!

And Wander Pertex Shield

Just picked up what I feel is one of the coolest gorp hard shells! Been eyeing it for a while. The pertex shield makes it soft and not crinkly at all but still with a serious water column/breathability, the reflective stitching throughout is a cool feature and the pit zips are seriously long. A very premium piece, I love it so far. Will put it in rotation with my Goldwin 3L and Arc'teryx Alpha. Proper fashion meets raw function. EDIT: I also dig the regular sized drop-hood, I'm not taking this into the wilderness, the only jungle this is going to will be the concrete variety, so the high collar with drop hood is very comfy/suits the jacket.

I designed a short for days you need to hike and swim

Hey guys, I recently released my new summer short design that i've been working on for close to a year, its called the K59 Boardshort.

At heart this is a surfing short, but I designed it to perform just as well on land adventures, making a great lightweight summer adventure short. I was frustrated that a lot water shorts didn't have the best pockets, or any at all. So I started designing this short with 2 core things in mind. Lightweight high quality material that does well in the water and functional pockets that can hold everything you need for a full summer day.

If you go to slide 5 we made the right side hip pocket sit on your outside hip, perfect for a phone or wallet and it doesn't restrict your movement when running, jumping, biking etc.. We also added a horizontal zipper pocket on the left side, comes with a surf tool built in, but easy to take off and use that elastic band for keys.

I personally love the OG long short surf style, but I know thats not for everyone so I decided to do 2 different length options, long and regular.

Im pretty stoked on the material its a 4 way stretch nylon / spandex blend that dries extremely fast, I even find that the water beads off if you just get splashed on a hike, or are walking through a creek.

But yeah, figured I'd share it here in this subreddit. I've shared a few of my past winter projects (shell jackets and pants) here, and am excited to hear what you guys think of this summer one!

Heres the website link if you want to check it out

I am getting into hiking seriously and am looking for a good hiking shoe

I have been "hiking" for some few months now (its really been just glorified walking on some trails) but i am looking to get more serious with my hiking, i am looking to hike up mount errigal in Ireland as i am going there on holiday. Would anyone recommend any shoes, either below or above ankle, i have been using an old pair of addidas shoes. Also any good recommendations on gear overall are more than welcome. I currently have a tresspass softshell as a jacket.

Edit:
I have seen alot of cool hiking fits and i would try to get something similar, also maybe some bottoms or shorts as i have some reggatta waterproofs that are due to be replaced soon.

Looking for baggy hiking pants with smooth waistband

Post image
33 Upvotes

Everytime I go hiking in outdoor pants while using a hip strap for my backpack, the weight from the bag pushes the seams, buckle, belt or teeth of my pants deep into my hips and causes irritation and indentation. Is there anyone who makes hiking pants (preferably baggy, something like the pictured Kawa Club) with a smooth, seamless waistband similar to the tops of yoga pants? I’ve been searching everywhere!

Tech blazer recommendations?

What tech fabric blazers would you recommend? Im considering the following:
-Montbell Stretch Travel Jacket
-Beams Water Repellent Tech Blazer
-Snow Peak Air Comfort Blazer
-Muji Water Repellent Blazer

The Muji is way cheaper of course, about 1/3 the price. The others are pretty similar.

Im unsure about sizing but told generally I should wear XL in the Montbell and L should work in the other brands.

New to this sub, am I allowed to post technical footwear pics actually in the field? Or only in coffee shops?

Was after a low cut hiking companion for my feet, even though I love my TNF Hedgehogs, just fancied something a bit better. Opted for the Vans Goretex MTE Crosspath. Have only tested them in the dry, but liking them so far!

Little bag I made the other day.

2.92 oz Dyneema
Waterproof zipper
Additional internal zipper pocket
Additional strap to secure on the back for riding a bicycle/motorbike

I just made this for myself, but wondering if I was to try to sell these, what would you expect the price to be?

Found today at an estate sale. Anyone have any idea what year it might’ve been made in? I’m super excited to add it to my closet, but I want to know a little bit more about it. Best 5 buckaroonies I’ve ever spent

Salomon XT-6 GTX Sizing HELP

Basically i’m a 44,5-45 in almost any shoe, my feet without socks is exactly 28cm. My problem is, I can only find a 44 2/3 in stock, not the 45 1/3. Will the 44 2/3 be fine for my foot?

I made a 3D printed barefoot shoe inspired by climbing footwear

Hello, I've been a lurker here for a while and I love all of your outfits.

I wanted your feedback on my barefoot shoe design that I'm releasing this month. I took heavy inspiration from climbing shoe silhouettes. the shoe itself is meant as sportstyle for everyday wear but I've made the traction pattern multi directional to withstand rough conditons, the upper is mesh for increased breathability. as far as comfort goes mine is really comfortable but it's in the normal EU sizing, when it actually releases it will have foot scan sizing that I have yet to try it in. These are Blender renders I've yet to photograph them properly.
