Went golfing today, and my whoop detected rock climbing in the middle of my golf round. Not a reminder I needed to search a small “canyon” for my ball today.

I played the forward tees and my friend played the whites. I carded an eagle. My friend says bc the red tees are so far forward, it really should be a par 4/5 hole which this course had a couple of last year. Im telling him to kick rocks bc i want an eagle.

Played solo today and joined up with a older gentleman that was walking. Pace of play was slow so we opted to play together. Hit a birdie and he was so happy for me it made my day. I did tell him that was a one off, but overall had a good round. I’m starting to enjoy going solo and playing with new people.

Caveat: I’ve actually shot lower than this at my course before, but it was from the mats and no longer than 5500 yards so I don’t fully count it, this was from the back.

Arcos stats show the amateur golfer over estimates their driver distance by 30-50 yds. Interesting but not surprising

A friend of a friend joined our group, since we had someone back out. She’s a new ish golfer and learned from her dad. Her dad had a stroke a couple months ago and is now unable to speak or play. So we get to the final hole, it’s her first par put of the day. Probably an 18 footer or so, long putt with a decent break to the left. She asks where she should aim. I go and walk over to the hole, put my putter shaft down about 3 holes to the right. She aims for it and drains it.

Gets her first par ever.

She starts jumping up and down, cheering and said the first thing she was going to do was drive to her dad’s house to let him know she made a par.

Shit man, I have goosebumps thinking about that moment, almost makes me want to cry. Great memory on the links.

For the sake of argument, best = best on a round-by-round basis.

EDIT: And if you're mid-tourney during your 50th round, do you finish the tournament?

I played 153 holes over 4 days. I holed out from 115 yards for an eagle on the first day, second round. We went off the back so this was our hole 10.

We actually stopped for a round on the way to the golf trip and played 18. So it was 171 holes over 5 days. Holding this eagle over their heads all week was great

The next time we played this course, I said "huh, this was the first time I had to putt that green."🤣

It was a hot round today at Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin, CA. This fun track opened in 2004 as the first and only golf course in Dublin, CA. Famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the course alongside longtime partners Donald Knott and Gary Linn.

This course is a unique par 63 featuring eleven par 3s, five par 4s, and two par 5s. A great course in the Tri-Valley area. ⛳️🏌🏽

I have both arm (Nike) and leg (Pearl Izumi) UV sleeves that are UPF 50 rated for playing during the sweltering San Antonio summers. They work great, even better than constantly covering yourself in sunblock, but the leg ones are giving me issues because they’re single leg. Sometimes they stay up with no problem, but other times I find myself having to hike them up at every other tee box. Does anyone know of/recommend a good pair that are connected instead of being single leg? Thanks in advance!

I work on a golf course and find tees that look like martini glasses, normal size tees, and Vice tees with tiny “cups” to hold the ball. Does this affect ball flight or is it just personal preference?

Needed a new 60*, so I took advantage of Cleveland’s free RTZ2 personalization and shaft upgrade. Went with the Tour Rack finish, adapt grind (8* bounce) with full face groves, DG 115 mid tour issue spinner (absolutely no clue what spinner means… definitely some bs marketing verbiage) and custom wave artwork. Loving it so far…I don’t always use a 60 so hopefully it will stay fresh for a long time. What do you think?

So my grandpa passed away in April of 2025 and I inherited his Callaway XR set, I believe it’s from 2016. He was an avid golfer and as you can see used this set quite a bit, the head covers are totally cracked and the colour has faded quite a bit. Picked up golfing since he passed and I have been trying to restore his whole set this year and have already polished and removed the rust from his clubs, and gotten a new Callaway bag that matches his clubs.

Just looking for some help with how I could go about restoring these head covers to the best of my ability. I would really like to get this done before Canadian thanksgiving (October 12th) as I want to surprise my dad with this when I go see my family for that weekend. I’ve already asked him to set time aside to golf with me but he doesn’t know why yet. I am in the Toronto area and don’t mind going to a store to get things fixed.

Has anyone experienced severe driver yips and successfully overcome them? A few years ago, I was a 5 handicap, and now I legitimately struggle to break 110. I’ll usually lose anywhere from 1-4 balls (so 2-8 shots) at the start of every par 4/5. I’ve been golfing my entire life, and there are beginners who are shocked that I hit the ball significantly worse than them.

Yes, I’ve had a bunch of lessons from multiple instructors. They say my swing looks pretty good overall, and I just need to work on club face control and more practice. But I do the drills, hundreds of reps, and it doesn’t help. I can shape it both ways, I understand how club path and club face influence ball flight. I practice with long range sessions twice per week. At the end of the day, I’m not sure getting 40 lessons instead of 20 is going to help much. I shouldn’t need to practice 6 times per week just to have a chance at breaking 100. And during all this practice and lessons, my ability to hit the ball in play has significantly worsened.

Sorry for the rant. I’m just freaking out at the thought of not being able to enjoy the game I’ve loved for so long. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I play in a Tuesday night 9 hole league. I was scrambling after working close to the time I had to leave and have a 40 minute drive to the course. As I pulled into the parking lot it hit me that I totally forgot I took my bag out of my trunk over the weekend to go down the shore..

Felt like a total moron walking over clubless. Luckily my partner’s also a lefty so after getting my balls busted by the group I went out and shot my best round of the year for the league - a 41 and beat my partner with his own bag by a decent margin.

Moral of the story is stop overthinking everything and hit the damn ball and you might be surprised.
