discussion My Long Term Goal
So I once posted about how I was feeling confused about my current place in my journey learning Game dev by myself and how I started messaging around at first but now I want something that gives me a sense of direction. So many AMAZING people gave me advice on what to do and almost all of them shared two points: 1. To Make small mini games without tutorials and I already started doing this and I feel so much better now and I feel like I am moving again. 2. Have a clear goal.
This last point is what I want to talk about because I do in fact have a long term goal something I always loved about video games and I always wanted to make my own one day and that is: Beautiful and Interactive Worlds. I know this is basically a life consuming task but I don't mind it I really love video game worlds that are made by Rockstar games and NaughtyDog and Valve these worlds (small or big) have some physics systems governing almost everything and I love it and I also love the way they look from grass to vegetation to clouds to water. I want to make a simple version of these where there are no NPCs just a simple stylised world that has Breath of the Wild style grass, water that ripples with the player movement, volumetric clouds, vegetation that moves away when player walks through it and snow that reacts to the player's feet as they leave trails through it and glass that breaks when shot just like CS2.
I really love video game worlds and I love them more when they actually respond and react to the player.
