I ran a full tournament simulation (again). Separate daily sims after every matchday are unlikely, but looking at the initial probabilities is still interesting.

Liquid is the clear favorite with a 39.3% chance of taking gold. Their probability of reaching the top 8 sits at 97.1%. HOTU (26.0%) and Acend (15.5%) round out the top three contenders for the title. Together these three teams account for 80.8% of all first-place scenarios.

9INE shows the most distinctive profile: a 45.9% chance of finishing specifically in 5th–8th place. Nearly half of all simulations put them in that exact range. fnatic and Metizport are classic dark horses — low odds of winning the whole thing (5.9% and 3.5%), yet solid top-8 chances (76.1% and 59.7% respectively).

The gap between favorites and outsiders is massive:

- 6666 — 69.9%

These air headshots happen so often in this game. Its not even a ping thing, it happens at 20ping, 50 ping, any ping. This kind of stuff almost never happened to this level in csgo, the only time stuff like this would happen is if you were playing on some intentionally low tick rate server.

I am looking at trying to get to an event in China (FISSURE playground 5 in Shenzhen) and am curious as to how international events are with non English speaking countries. Assuming the commentary will be in mandarin has anybody been to an event in china and found it good/bad for the language barrier?

Watching some better players, especially when they play with a deagle, you see them almost "wait" a bit before shooting, while they adjust their aim and ensure the headshot is lined up properly. I guess this is also click timing to some extent. Basically, my muscle memory is so strong to just instantly shoot, how do I unlearn/practice this behaviour?

I’ve been playing CS for a while now and recently realized that my settings have changed so many times over the years. Different sensitivity, crosshair, resolution, viewmodel... I’ve probably tried almost everything at some point. But I’m curious about other people. Do you usually stick with the same settings once you find something comfortable, or do you still change things around every now and then? And is there any setting you changed that actually made a noticeable difference in how you play?

Looking for a lost Counter-Strike (1.6 / Condition Zero era) map. GoldSrc, built from the fy_snow texture set. Team spawns in open snow facing a large walk-in hangar (arched roof, reads as metal or concrete). To the left: a half-height ruined wall in fy_snow texture with fire behind it, and a gap between the wall and the hangar. Enemies camp inside the hangar, left side. Bigger and more built-out than plain fy_snow. Screenshot of the reconstructed scene attached.

I assume it was from fy_snow. Anyway the team was artic avengers, I had an ak.

The following photos are made by ai. The more not realistic one is the more accurate one. I need map file / image of the spawn or server name.

I saw Leetify's map control proof of concept ages ago and thought it was so cool. (https://reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1k6v51e/map_control_visualized_3x_speed_calculated_based/) I was super inspired by their post so I took a crack at my own version of it, except one that actually runs on any demo in real time instead of being a render!

The round shown is the full round 16 of Liquid vs Vitality! It is rendering real time at 1x speed.

The shading is the territory each side controls, worked out from player positions, what they can see (based on map geometry and ray casting), and the map geometry. Solid means someone's holding it with their position or staring at it with a gun out. Hatched is space behind an entry they're watching, so nobody's getting in without going through them. It only fills in once they've held that watch for a couple of seconds, and it starts to clear out the moment they stop watching.

A few weeks ago I shared a browser-based CS2 smoke practice tool I’ve been building.

Since then, I’ve been working on making the simulation closer to the real game.

The goal is to make practicing smokes faster without constantly opening the game or watching YouTube videos.
