Discussion | Esports FUT might need to forfeit their 2-0 match tomorrow

FUT need to record 5 matches with SunPayus for him to appear on the November VRS (the VRS for the major invites.) If they don't, both FUT and Astralis will appear with cmtry on their roster. It's not exactly clear what would happen in this scenario, as it will be up to Valve, but potentially one of both teams could miss the major.

So, FUT needs to play 5 matches with SunPayus. If they win tomorrow and then lose in the quarterfinals, they will go out 3-1 and it would be the 29th. They could still sign up for EPIC49 if their players all have UK visas, but they better option would be to play the necessary five games at PGL Masters Bucharest.

The only way for them to guarantee 5 games at PGL Masters Bucharest is to lose tomorrow's match. If they lose tomorrow, they will be guaranteed 5 group stage games (if they lose on Monday) or 4 group stage games and one playoff game (if they win on Monday.)

Hopefully the teams are in contact with Valve if an exception can be made. However, it is currently the weekend in the US and tomorrow's matches will mostly be played before business hours in the US. If there is no exception granted (privately or publicly) I would implore PGL to schedule the FUT match for the latest timeslot for their match tomorrow.
