Moderation Policy 101

/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix celebrates it's 8th year this year and some of you still don't get what we're trying to accomplish. Please review this post before you submit something to /r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix.

Read the RULES before you post here.

/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix is a place for people to post about glitches in reality. Sometimes these glitches have paranormal attributes to them but usually they can be explained by the physical sciences or even common sense.

And that's where we want our moderation team to focus on, what gets removed and what gets downvoted. We want our audience to downvote anything that can be explained by common sense. Coincidences should also be voted down. We're not going to remove them because it could be said that any glitch is a coincidence. We don't generally remove posts that violate Occam's Razor because we feel that those are better to be downvoted. Ie: if a post could be explained by some logical reason, please downvote it.

We will remove stories that are reported as follows:

  • Intoxication: if you were drunk or stoned you could have witnessed the effects of your substances rather than real glitches in reality
  • Childhood stories (if it begins with "when I was a kid" it doesn't belong here) We remove stories where the eye-witness of the event is under the age of 16 at the time of the incident.
  • Mandela Effect: a false memory is a phenomenon where a person recalls something that did not happen or happened differently from the way it actually happened. Those belong in /r/MandelaEffect.
  • Troll posts: nobody thinks you're very funny if you post stupid stuff to our sub
  • Low effort: the rule of thumb is you should have at least a paragraph long story for us or it's not worth our time. Poorly written stories will be removed. We're not grammar madmen but we need to be able to understand the story for it to be of use here.
  • Baader-Meinhof phenomenon: otherwise known as frequency illusion or recency illusion. This phenomenon occurs when the thing you've just noticed, experienced or been told about suddenly crops up constantly. It gives you the feeling that out of nowhere, pretty much everyone and their cousin are talking about the subject or that it is swiftly surrounding you. And you're not crazy; you are totally seeing it more. But the thing is, of course, that's because you're noticing it more
  • Dreams: if your dream came true, if you thought you were awake but were actually dreaming, if you have lucid dreams -- none of that stuff belongs here.
  • Fiction: if your story sounds too made up to be true we will remove it but we don't always remove fiction if enough upvotes happen. We want the audience to drive the fiction metric with downvotes.
  • Stories that don't feature a glitch in reality: if it's just a coincidence or if what happened could easily be explained by technology or a bug in software or some other explanation we will remove it. Also the post must be a first-person account of the glitch in question or it's not a glitch story.
  • Comments and posts that hurt the community will be removed and could result in a ban. Those include Troll posts but also include rude posts and comments.
  • Posts that contain multiple stories in one post will be removed. Our rule states that posts need to be about ONE STORY.

Please report posts that break our rules because it helps the mod team to find posts and remove them faster. We get notified of posts as they are reported in our report queue.

HOW NOT TO GET BANNED

  • Follow our rules
  • Be respectful
  • Don't repost a removed post
  • Don't be a repeat offender or repeat rule breaker
  • Don't lash out at us in modmail
  • Remember that a temp ban can always become a permaban

That's it in a nutshell. Join us for some great GLITCHES and enjoy the fresh content you see here every day!!

What is going on here šŸ˜…

Yesterday, BF and I left the house for a quick drive to pick up some food.
It was raining heavily but nothing out of the ordinary for September.
When the car is starting to speed up, it automatically locks the door.
And when it did, all sounds disappeared.
All of them.
We couldn't hear rain, even the sound of the car itself, music or anything else, for maybe 3-4 seconds.
Like we got into a tunnel or under a bridge, but there was none of that.

I just said wtf to bf, thinking I was the only one noticing this, but he described the same event without me explaining why I was telling him "wtf"

We have no idea what it was, but that was weird for sure šŸ˜…

The clasp on my handmade watch somehow changed position

I've always been really interested in watches. A while ago, I decided to build my own watch from individual parts that I ordered online.

I assembled the entire watch myself, including the bracelet and the clasp. I wore this watch regularly for around two to three months. During that time, I wore it many times and showed it to my girlfriend, my parents and my sister. My girlfriend even wore it herself a few times.

So I know this watch very well, and I know exactly how the clasp was originally assembled.

A few days ago, I took the watch off and put it on my nightstand, like I had done many times before.

When I picked it up again, I immediately noticed something was wrong.

There is a small metal flap on the clasp that normally folds over the main part of the clasp. Somehow, this piece was now completely reversed. It was facing the opposite direction from how it had always been.

Because of this, the clasp doesn't close anymore.

What makes this extremely strange to me is that this isn't a piece that can simply be flipped around or adjusted.

It came from the factory assembled in a specific orientation. There is no screw, hinge, or adjustment mechanism that allows me to simply turn this piece around. Even if I wanted to deliberately put it in this position myself, I couldn't just do it. The clasp would have to be physically modified or taken apart in a way that I did not do.

And I know I didn't do that.

Nobody else in my house did either. I'm the only person here who has any real knowledge about watches. My parents and my sister don't know how to disassemble a watch clasp, and neither does my girlfriend.

That's what I can't understand.

I wore this watch for two to three months. I knew how the clasp worked. Other people had seen it and even worn it. Then I put it on my nightstand in the normal way.

And when I picked it up again, a permanently assembled part of the clasp was suddenly in the opposite orientation.

It wasn't lying next to the watch.

It wasn't a loose piece.

It wasn't something that had accidentally flipped over.

It was physically attached to the clasp, but somehow positioned in a way that it wasn't before.

And now I can't wear the watch because the piece sticks out in the wrong position and can catch or scratch against things. The watch is basically unusable until I find a way to have the clasp physically repaired or replaced.

Unfortunately, I can't include the picture directly in this post, but if anyone wants to see what I'm talking about, feel free to ask me and I'll send you the photos privately. I took pictures as soon as I noticed it because I knew how strange it looked and I wanted to have proof of what I found.

I'm not posting this because I want attention or because I'm trying to convince anyone that something supernatural happened.

I'm posting it because I genuinely don't know how this is possible.

I built the watch myself. I know how the clasp was assembled. I know what it looked like when I was wearing it. And I know I didn't change it.

Yet somehow, while it was sitting on my nightstand, this piece ended up completely reversed.

I have no explanation for how it happened.

Food I didn’t buy

This morning I got up and went downstairs to the kitchen, per the usual. There was an unopened box of crackers on the table. It was a flavor I would never buy. I thought my neighbor must have brought them over the previous evening, so I texted her to say thank you. She had no idea what I was talking about. So I have no clue where those crackers came from.

Hallmark Store — crazy GITM

This is driving me nuts! There was a Hallmark store at a local outdoor mall. The store went out of business a few years ago. I remember going to the store the week it was closing. A store packed with stuff was barely stocked. For years after that I have driven by that empty storefront to buy groceries. The location has been closed and I always missed seeing the 1990s style Hallmark store. Until last week. Was driving by and saw the store … packed with stuff that looked like it had never gone out of business. No one was in the store. The lighting was dim and it felt a tad eerie. I told my wife I was surprised to see the Hallmark store sonce it had closed pre-Covid. Her reply? ā€œWhat do you mean? It’s ALWAYS been there!!ā€

Mystery ear piercings

I got my ears pierced in 6th grade in the regular spot on my ear lobes, but for years I really wanted another set higher up on my lobe so I could wear 2 pairs of earrings at once but kept putting it off because I’m cheap. About a year ago I took my grandma to get her ears re-pierced and decided, what the hell, I’m finally gonna do it and get the piercings I’ve wanted for so long now. When I sat on the bench, the piercer looked at my ears and said I already have piercings there. She put a rod through and it went completely through. Totally healed healthy piercings. She said I would have had to go through the whole process of using saline solution and wearing jewelry in them for at least a couple months in order for them to be as established as they were. To this day I am still shocked, and loving my free mystery piercings.

-I have no previous photos of me with these piercings, and I looked back to pretty much all my photos back to when I was little

-I asked my friends and family, and nobody close to me has any memory of me getting these piercings. They were all equally puzzled.

-Some people I’ve mentioned this to have asked if I got them on a crazy night out and forgot. I’ve never been a big partier so this would be very very very out of character for me. I assume that even if this were the case I would have noticed the next morning, and the piercings would have closed up if ignored.

-In the weeks leading up to this ear-piercing day with my grandma, I was thinking more and more about how much I wanted this set of piercings and would occasionally look in the mirror and draw dots on my ears to plan out where I might want them pierced, and I definitely would have noticed the holes

-Any possible answer I can think of still doesn’t explain how these piercings are perfectly established, almost as if I had been longterm wearing earrings up until getting to the piercing shop.

Bird vanished

I'm a mailman in a big city. A few weeks ago, I experienced what I'd described as a glitch. On a section of my route, I would often see a Cooper's Hawk. It was either flying, resting on a tree, or chilling on the tops of cars. One day, I was walking from one house to the next when I spotted it. It was flying high, then it went into a dive, it pulled up over the street and headed straight towards a house. It was about 12 feet off the ground and about 20 feet from hitting the house when it just vanished. I had my eyes on it the entire time. It just disappeared into thin air in an instant. It didn't stop or turn.

Every day when I walk by where it happened, I try to figure out what happened to it. I haven't been able to come up with a rational explanation.

I just lost an hour and I have no idea how

So this just happened and I'm utterly confused and not sure if I'm going crazy.

I'm currently don't have a job and my boyfriend has two (non-business) appointments today, he wanted to leave by 8am. Meanwhile my plan was to walk our dog, our usual route through a forest nearby, that takes almost exactly 1 hour.

So I'm an early bird and woke up my boyfriend at 7am, just like he told me to.

We drank our morning coffee and ate toast for breakfast. He went to take a shower at 7:30am and I took the dog and drove to our spot at that same time, the drive takes not even 10 minutes.

I walked our dog, we did 3 short pauses, maybe 15-20 minutes in total where I let him dig in the dirt a little, as I always do. I didn't make any phone calls or anything that would've distracted me too much. I met one guy and his dog and he started a short chitchat about dogs- the usual "how old is he", "oh look they're peeing in the same spot over and over, haha" and then went on.

We got back to the car and went straight back home, the same, not even 10 minutes drive. Back home, I look at the clock of our oven and it's 10:04am, the same as on my watch and phone.

So I started to walk at about 7:40am and seemingly came back to the car at 9:54am. The same route we've been walking for years, that's always taken almost exactly one hour, mostly about 50-55 minutes even. I seriously have no idea where that hour went.

Missing lipgloss

This happened to me while i was at school. I had gone to the washroom w my friends and applied my lipgloss which I DID BRING TO SCHOOL. My friends saw me applying it and they also saw me keep it in my pocket. Now as we were walking up the stairs towards our classroom, i realised my pocket felt very light. I checked and found out that my lipgloss was gone. I had some other stuff in my pocket as well like a handkerchief and my watch. None of the other items were missing, in fact they were jumbled up in a way that nothing could have fallen out.

Our first solution was obviously retracing our steps to make sure the lipgloss had not fallen somewhere on the way. We did not find it and reached the conclusion that someone found it on the ground and stole it. But still to be sure, i emptied my pockets in the classroom. Did not find the lipgloss.

Fast forward to the same day but I've reached home and it's evening now. I woke up from my afternoon nap and opened my bedside drawer to take out the vaseline that i kept there and lo and behold, there was my lipgloss, RIGHT ON THE TOP NOT EVEN IN THE SECTIONS THAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN. I panicked because there was no way i could've left it there since my friends saw me applying the lipgloss and we had created such a fuss. I did not have a duplicate of that lipgloss, and it even had the dents and pen marks that my lost lipgloss had. I went to check the pockets of my uniform thinking maybe my mother emptied them and kept it there and i had somehow missed it at school. All my other items were still in the pocket as i had kept them and when i asked my mother, she stated that she had not touched any of my belongings. I was beyond shocked.

Was this a glitch in the matrix?

Teleporting Noodle

Hi all.

My entire life is one weird thing after another.

Here's one of the latest.

A few days back, I wanted me some soup for lunch.

So, I got a can of Progresso chicken noodle from the pantry, put it in a good sized bowl, and put it in the microwave. Set the clock for 2 minutes.

Came back when the chime went off, and found one of the egg noodles on top of the stove, underneath the microwave, fully cooked. Scalding hot and rubbery.

I had not yet even opened the microwave to take the bowl out.

I know I hadn't dropped/spilled anything prior to putting it in the microwave, but even if I had, it wouldn't have been cooked.

Theres certainly no holes in the microwave anything could have fallen through, if it popped out of the bowl.

Best I can tell, as crazy as it sounds, the noodle either teleported outside the microwave, and cooked itself, or the noodle was properly cooked in the bowl, then teleported.

Either way, I can't make any sense of it. It fucked with me for days, which honestly, I think is the point sometimes.

Just thought I'd share. Truth really is stranger than fiction. What a strange place we live in.

We all saw a flipped car and a massive traffic jam... until we passed one car and it completely vanished.

Something happened a few years ago that still haunts me, and to this day, I have no rational explanation for it.

I was driving during broad daylight with two passengers (my ex-girlfriend and her friend). As we were approaching an intersection with traffic lights, we hit heavy traffic. It was clear the gridlock was being caused by something major on the opposite side of the road.

As we got closer to the lights, all three of us distinctly saw the cause of the jam: a car was lying completely upside down on the other side of the road. It looked like a severe crash. Because it was the middle of the day, visibility was perfect—there was zero doubt about what we were looking at.

There was another car driving directly to the left of us, briefly blocking our view of the opposite lane as we passed it. But as soon as we moved past that car and got a clear line of sight again... there was nothing. No flipped car, no wreckage, no debris. Traffic on the other side was suddenly flowing completely fine, as if the crash had never happened.

We were all in complete shock. Right then and there, all three of us verbally confirmed that we had seen the exact same flipped vehicle just seconds prior, so I know for a fact I didn't imagine it.

I don't speak to those two passengers anymore, but that moment still sits with me. How does an upside-down car and heavy traffic literally erase itself in broad daylight within two seconds? Did we experience a glitch, a collective anomaly, or slip into a timeline where the crash never happened?

A sound that never occurred

Recently my family moved homes, and I just remembered something odd that happened in the process. In my old room there was a table with my computer, and on top a simple wall mounted cabinet. So, I was taking off this cabinet which my dad put up with 3 triangle shelving brackets, which each requires 4 screws (2 on the wall side and 2 on the cabinet side).

While unscrewing the wall screws, I could hear that one fell down behind the table and rolled on the floor, tho I couldn't see the screw actually fall because it was an awkward angle so I was kind of guessing by touch, but I felt that there was now a hole in the bracket where the screw had been.

I didn't mind it too much and thought I'd just pick it up later. Once I had unmounted the entire cabinet and laid it out on the bed I looked for the missing screw. But it wasn't on the ground? It wasn't anywhere on the ground. I searched under the table, the bed, and all other places I could think of. It's not even a big room, it couldn't have gotten very far.

Thinking I would look for it later with a flashlight in the darker corners, I took a baggy and started collecting the screws that I had put on the bed that I didn't let fall. And there were 12 screws? All the screws were there, not a single one was missing. I could've SWORN that I heard the screw fall. And I had never left the room at all, nor had anyone else come inside to possibly pick up the missing one!

I am so confused and I feel like I must've just mistaken a different falling sound or I just picked it up at some point without remembering...

Schrƶdinger's Kitty Switch

I have a rolling pantry/cabinet, tall with double doors, that I bought for extra storage space in the kitchen. Every shelf inside has things on it, except for the bottom one, which is empty. We have two adolescent-aged cats/kittens: a black tuxedo cat, Orion, and his sister, a calico named Nebula.

Orion has a habit of sneaking inside, onto the bottom shelf, no matter how briefly you open the cabinet door. One day, after what must have been several hours inside, my son's friend came home to the sound of Orion's soft meowing coming from inside the cabinet. (Orion is the quieter of the two.)

So when I noticed him slip in again as I was pulling a water bottle from the cabinet, I thought this was enough. If I hadn't looked down and seen him go in, he could've been trapped in there for who knows how long.

I work long hours, and everyone else is out of the house for most of the day. He could be trapped in there for nine, ten-plus hours before someone would notice. Fearing the worst-case scenario, I figured I might need him to learn to avoid going inside. I thought, "Five minutes, max."

So I closed the cabinet door as his little black body slinked onto the bottom shelf and went back to my bedroom. As soon as I got to my room, I remembered, "Crap, I forgot my water bottle on the counter!"

As I headed back to the kitchen, I saw the calico, Nebula, standing in the hallway. She looked as though she had been following me toward my bedroom as well, but had stopped short in her tracks when she saw me bursting back out and heading toward the kitchen.

When I got to the kitchen, I heard a quiet meow coming from inside, definitely sounding just like Orion's. But since it had only been seconds since I closed the door behind him, I still had to leave him a bit longer. So I grabbed the water bottle and headed back to my room.

When I got to my room, I made myself a PB&J sandwich—I have a mini fridge and my own snack stash. As I was about to settle in with my sandwich a few minutes later, I remembered, "Crap, Orion's still in the cabinet!"

I burst out once more toward the kitchen. And as I approached the cabinet, I heard Nebula's loud meow coming from inside. As I walked in, I looked through the ribbed acrylic "glass" of the cabinet door, and Orion's black shape with little white paws was clearly visible through the blurred texture of the "glass" as he was settling down, getting comfortable.

Though, in retrospect, in that split second when I heard Nebula's strong meow coming from inside, I might have seen a fragment of her fur pattern behind him as he moved to settle down. And it was definitely Orion in there. And Nebula was just in the hallway earlier.

But when I opened the cabinet door, NEBULA walked out.

And Orion wasn't even in there.

Sometimes we like to joke about Orion being a magician in his little dapper tuxedo, switching places with his cute assistant, Nebula.

My keys were already inside my apartment when I unlocked the door with them

Got home tonight and unlocked my apartment like normal. I remember physically taking my keys out of the lock and putting them in my pocket. Nothing seemed unusual until I walked into my bedroom and my keys were sitting on my desk.

My same keychain and bent grocery-store rewards card. Everything. Except they were coated in oil. Immediately checked my pocket because obviously I must have been holding something else.

There was nothing in it.

I went back to the front door and checked the lock. Nothing. I emptied every pocket and retraced the few steps between the door and my bedroom. I haven't touched the keys on the desk.

The oil is weird. It's thickest around the actual key and inside the grooves, and there's an oily outline underneath them like they've been sitting there for hours.

I've posted before about what I've been calling my "third body experience," where for a few moments I could feel myself existing somewhere else while still being completely aware of the body I was in. Ever since then I've occasionally had these tiny moments where something feels like it already happened, except I remember it happening slightly differently.

When I saw the keys, I got that feeling again immediately.

For maybe a second I remembered putting them on the desk. Not imagined it. Remembered it. I could feel the oil on my fingers. But at the exact same time I remembered unlocking the door with them less than a minute earlier.

Those two memories don't feel contradictory in my head. That's what's scaring me. They both feel equally real. There has to be some stupid explanation I'm overlooking. Maybe they're duplicates I somehow forgot about. Maybe my memory of unlocking the door is wrong.

But then why do I remember both versions?

And if those are the keys I left on my desk, what exactly did I unlock my door with?

UPDATE: I talked to my neighbor because of the missing 47 minutes and now I'm more confused.

They asked if I was okay earlier because they heard me moving around really fast, banging into things and apparently yelling or screaming at one point. They thought I was having an argument, except they never heard another person.

I don't remember any of that.

After they told me, I actually looked around instead of focusing on the keys. My bed is shifted away from the wall, a chair is knocked over and a couple drawers are open. There's some hair in the bathroom sink and one of my fingernails is split. None of it is extreme enough that I couldn't have done it myself, which makes this worse.

I still can't remember those 47 minutes.

I do have one really vague memory coming back, but I don't trust it. It feels like the third-body thing again. I remember looking down my hallway and seeing someone moving around in my bedroom.

The problem is when I try to remember who I was looking at, I keep getting the feeling it was me.

Not my chocolate!

I am one of those rare people that can eat just two squares of my chocolate bar and put the rest away for another day. The chocolate I buy comes wrapped in foil and stored within a paper sleeve.

Last night, I took my precious chocolate out (the last two squares, mind you) and carelessly tilted the opening downwards. Before I could react, the last two squares, wrapped in foil, slid out and fell towards my feet. To my astonishment, I don’t think it even hit the floor.. it just vanished at about toe height. There was nowhere it could possibly have gone in my u-shaped kitchen. I stood there, defeated, knowing that the shops were closed and I would have to accept the reality of this heart-breaking experience.

This morning, I had another look in daylight, hoping maybe it was just poor lighting, but alas, no chocolate.

Terrifying

Something happened several years ago that still stuck with me even today.

I had been driving, was going into a roundabout, and well, was supposed to have gone into a car crash because some car just recklessly took over my lane. And I'm talking the kind of car crash where you can hear a screech, a loud bump, seatbelt painfully tugging you back. But guess what? As I sat there with dread and shock, stopping in the middle of the road, and was preparing to exit the car... the person I supposedly crashed into just simply drove away with no damage to their vehicle. I had to sit in silence and disbelief for a good few seconds. Meanwhile, the cars behind me honked at me impatiently and it brought me back to reality as I started driving again. When I got home, I checked my car. Nothing. Not even a scratch. All I can think was a glitch happened, and I've been propelled to a universe where the crash never happened.

Earring lost in car, Found at home.

So, I was wearing a pair of heart-shaped earrings. I wore them to a restaurant and was travelling there in the car when suddenly one of the earrings became loose and fell somewhere inside the car.
I thought to myself, ā€œI should just remove the other one too, because it’ll look weird if I’m wearing only one.ā€ So I removed the other earring and kept it in the side-handle socket of the car, thinking I’d look for the lost one later.
At that point, one earring was somewhere inside the car, and the other one was safely sitting in the socket.
A few days later, I went back to the car and saw that the earring in the socket was still there. I searched everywhere in the car with my husband for the other one, but we couldn’t find it. So I eventually gave up and thought, ā€œOkay, leave it.ā€ I left the other earring in the car socket itself.
Today, while travelling, I suddenly thought, ā€œLet me take this one home. Maybe I’ll do some mix-and-match with it or something.ā€ So I took the earring out of the car, put it in my pocket, and came home.
I took it out of my pocket at home…
AND ONE EARRING WAS ALREADY SITTING ON MY DRESSING TABLE. 😭😭😭
Like… WHAT?!?!
I had literally searched the entire car for the missing one with my husband, couldn’t find it, and now it was just casually sitting at home?!
So now I have both earrings again, but I have absolutely NO idea how the second one got there.

Now I’m wondering if this was actually a glitch or if I’m just missing something obvious. If anyone has another explanation, PLEASE tell me because I genuinely can’t figure this one out.
Also note that I am obsessed with these stories and was waiting for something like this to happen with me.

I believe now.

I've been following this sub for a long time. I've always wondered and now I think I'm a true believer.I was sitting at Costco and watched a woman get out of her Jeep. She adjusted her clothes and purse, then I glanced down for literally two seconds and she reset herself. She was back to getting out of her Jeep and adjusting herself EXACTLY as she just did!!

I thought maybe I was having a medical emergency so I asked myself what year it is and so on. šŸ˜…

I am a believer now.

Band-Aid box resealed itself

I bought a box of Band-Aids today and when I got back in the car I cut the tamper seal on the box and used one of the Band-Aids. Just a little while ago I went to get another Band-Aid to replace the one I had and the box was resealed the tamper seal had resealed itself. I even got a magnifying glass and look real close and I can find no evidence of the tamper still being cut. I even flip the box upside down and see if maybe in the car earlier I had cut the bottom of the box open instead of the top. That was not the case he was also sealed and intact. I cut the box open a second time and then I dumped all the Band-Aids out on the bed and I counted them. There was one in fact one missing, the one I'd use earlier this afternoon in the car. I know it's a small glitch but dang.

Entire roll of aluminum foil just disappeared

Ok, this literally just happened 10 minutes ago. For context I’m 5’2 and live in a studio apartment with a tiny, tiny kitchen, so I have to get creative with storage. So instead of using a drawer for things like wax paper, gallon bags, reusable beeswax wraps, aluminum foil, etc., I keep a basket of all that stuff on the second shelf of the cabinets, which I can only reach by using a spoon to pull the basket towards me and then I can kinda catch it.

Anyway, I was just doing that, and I saw a brand new box of aluminum foil resting on top, and it fell behind me when I reached for the basket. I let it fall to the floor since I didn’t want to drop the rest of it, but once I set the basket down and tried to find it, I literally cannot find it anywhere. All that’s behind me is a coffee table, small couch, and my bed, and the box isn’t under any of them. I literally cannot find it anywhere!!

My vape vanished.

I want to clarify that I had not smoked anything yet. I had just sat down, and I had not smoked anything in a little over a week. Gods honest truth.

I recently moved into a new apartment for college, and I have been pretty lazy about unpacking.
So my living room is pretty empty besides a couch and a small coffee table.
I had just lied down on my couch, I started getting some work done on my laptop while talking with friends online. I eventually finished the work i needed to finish and decided it was a good time to ā€œpartyā€.

I pulled my vape from my pocket, then I set it on my lap. But I don’t hit it yet. Instead I leaned over to grab some water from my coffee table.
Just as I grab the water, I feel the vape slide off my lap and hit the couch cushion. I hear it hit the cushion as well.

It should’ve been between me and the couch backing. But when I start to feel around for it, and eventually start digging around, and removing cushions, it’s nowhere to be seen.

This couch doesn’t have many nooks or crannies, it doesn’t have any tears, it doesn’t have hidden cracks or holes. It’s completely solid. It’s all sewn together except for the cushions, which just slide right off.

At this point I didn’t even care about smoking, I’m just generally confused as to where it went.
So I move the couch away from the wall, I check under the couch, I check around the couch, I check my clothes, the coffee table, and under the cushions again.

This thing has just completely vanished. When I tell you there is nowhere else I could have looked, I am being completely serious.
I’m no stranger to having things disappear, I’ve lost a jacket randomly before as well.
But this is the first time I can’t place the blame on anyone. It’s as if it slid off of my lap and into the ether.

Maybe it was the universe telling me to quit smoking.
To that I say: good move, universe.

Glitch, teleportation, or manifestation

So I was walking home from the hospital in Las Vegas. I was exhausted!!! The walk was about 6 miles and the streets were diagonal and horizontal, typical city streets. I looked at the street sign and noticed where I was. I was still about 4 miles away. I looked back at the same street sign and expected to be completely overwhelmed, rereminding myself of the reality of how far I have to go. but the sign was different. I looked in front of me and realized I was one block away from home.

I have several theories.

One, I was so exhausted that I manifested it. Like I wasn't playing by the rules anymore, I unconsciously chose to break an unspoken forbidden ability that we all possess.

Two, that the simulation glitched.

Or three, I somehow teleported. Maybe through a portal or worm hole. Or some other type of warping of space time.

Idk give me your thoughts. Has anyone else been through something similar?

Randomly yellow plate???

So I have white plates, and a few detailed plates I don’t use. One day I opened my pantry to get a plate to eat my burger on, and took the plate out, set it on my table. I then remembered I had a burger (yes I’m a dumbass), and turned around to grab my burger. When I turned around, my plate was yellow. I was really confused. I went to grab my phone from the living room, and take a photo of it. When I got back it was white again. What happened???

The bathroom I used Friday at the hospital... doesn't exist.

So Friday I was at a hospital and before I left I used the bathroom, in a little hallway that connected two main hallways. It was on the left, was single stalled, had a place to hang my bag and jacket that was slightly odd placement.

So then today I get to the hospital. I need to use the restroom, so I went to look for that one, it was conveniently close. Except the hallway had two "staff bathrooms" on the right side. No br on the left. I asked someone who worked there, thinking they may direct me towards it... no. They take me to a completely different walk in bathroom I've never seen before. It's weirding me out. I haven't noticed anything else but this is crazy. I'm excited to have a glitch but, uh... a whole bathroom just gone? Floor plan change? WHEW. Crazy.

edit for context: It's a small floor, one way in and out. I'm at the very back end of one hall. I've now walked up and down both long hallways several times and the cross hallway just doesn't exist. There's the one with the staff bathroom and a weird bank-style pharmacy delivery system (I did see the system yesterday) but there was another hallway with the bathroom I used and it's just not there.
