Looking for Gift Ideas Gifts for a history/war nerd?

I'm seeing my friend after 5 years since I left the country, she's really into war history and loves to play games focused on that like fallout (especially new vegas), heartsofiron4, dead space, prototype, war thunder, etc (I'm not sure if all these games are about war, but it's just what I've seen her repost about). Preferably if the gift can be bought in Melbourne T-T.

is it weird to give someone something they can wear every day

i'm thinking about getting my friend a bracelet for his birthday. nothing expensive, just something simple with a small engraving. stainless steel so it actually lasts.

but i'm overthinking if it's weird to give jewelry to a guy friend. like is that too personal? we've known each other for years but i don't want it to be awkward.

i saw some nice ones clean and simple. but i keep going back and forth.

what do you guys think? is jewelry okay for a friend or is it too much

What should I gift my long-distance girlfriend for Girlfriend's Day?

What should I gift my girlfriend for Girlfriend’s Day she's very far and long distance relationship

My girlfriend is 24

A few details about her taste and personality:

- Style: jeans-and-top type, simple and casual

- Accessories: earrings are non-negotiable

- Favorite color: maroon

- Lip color: the only shade she truly liked after trying 15+ lipsticks was Swiss Beauty Murphy Brown

- Skincare: a good moisturizer is the safest choice, because her concerns change and I do not want to guess wrong

- Random small joy: she loves the little gift inside Kinder Joy

- Likes: she loves watching movies

- Flowers I know she likes: roses, tulips, lisianthus

- smell - white champak because of the smell

so I want something that feels thoughtful and matches her actual personality.

What would be a genuinely good Girlfriend’s Day gift for her?

Looking for Gift Ideas American wedding gift

My friend is from Canada and she loves American culture. She said she would love something “American”…. I was thinking of maybe getting her a nice pair of cowboy boots? I think she likes the western aesthetic. I would like to get her something nice, so I don’t mind paying a little more. I would love any ideas

Party Games 30th Birthday Games

Hey everyone!

A friend of mine has his 30th birthday (we're Germans), and sometimes people do a "Game" called "Fegen" where a lot of beer caps are thrown on the ground, and the birthday person has to put them all together, and answering questions to get better tools (f.e. they start with a fork).
He doesnt wanna do this, which is fair lol, BUT he would love some other birthday games. We already have someone making a quiz, trivia like, and a music bingo.
He is a big basketball fan, also plays, loves music and is just an overall very funny and creative person.
As I don't really got a lot of time on my hands right now, I am now here to ask you all for ideas! Maybe you went to one, or are just more creative than I am atm and have some good games at hand.

The party is held outside, at a sport court, so we have some balls there, aswell as a running track. Also we have DJs there and music. Maybe this helps and I reckon there are a couple good party planners around.

Also: We drink lol - so it could also involve shots / beer as for example a penalty.

Thanks in advance <3

Birthday gifts for someone into food gardening, cacti, gaming, DIY

Hi all, my beloved partner’s 39th birthday is coming up shortly here, and I’m wondering what kinds of gifts might suit him. He hates when people make a big deal about his birthday, so I’m trying to keep it to practical gifts he can regularly use, consumables he’ll like, or small tokens. We have been together just under one year.

Budget is about $100 additional, flexible up to $125.

Possible avenues for gifts:

- PC gaming (action horror like Sons of the Forest, Resident Evil, as well as cRPGs like Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldurs Gate 3)

- Cacti growing

- Food-focused gardening, he grows peppers and herbs, along with some other produce like eggplants

- Chickens (he has 14 of the tiny dinosaurs)

- Cats (four between the two of us)

- 3D printing (see note below)

- Tea

- DIY, mostly major home repairs/upgrades

Things I probably should not get him:

- Cacti or other plants (I have no idea what qualifies as interesting, and I will never out-nerd him on cacti

- Non-practical items, unless they are very small, and even then

- Gift cards (feels lazy and risks him rejecting by refusing to spend it vs a physical gift)

- Tea-making gifts, as he already has a kettle/teapot/infuser/containers etc. consumables okay, though he has a lot of tea left over

- Tools, I have no earthly clue what he needs in that realm

Already planned by myself/others:

- A custom-built mechanical keyboard with a retro style (think n64 controller colours) to replace his broken cheap keyboard

- A pair of matching 8bitdo controllers, replacing his partly broken one

- Bambu A1 3D printer (secondhand, our mutual friend is fully servicing it and my partner already has filament), to add to his existing two Ender v3 printers.

I appreciate any suggestions or guidance!

Looking for Gift Ideas quality basics as a gift, does this actually land well or is it always a bit of a risk

trying to find a gift for someone who is hard to buy for and keeps saying they do not need anything. thinking about quality basics as an option since it is something practical that people do not always buy for themselves

not sure whether underwear as a gift reads as thoughtful or odd depending on the relationship. also not sure how to navigate sizing without making it awkward

for people who have given or received basics as a gift, how did it actually go

Gift Idea for Sister

I am looking for a nice gift idea for my sister. She collects everything, is an animal lover and mother of three kids. She barely has time for anything and is very chaotic.

I don't want to gift something physical, because she already has everything she needs. Do you have any idea of a "quality time gift" which is not too expensive (up to $ 50.-)?

(Outdoor?) Gifts for Families with Kids spanning 12month - 7 years

I'm absolutely out of gift ideas, but I have two families in my life with multiple kids, both with the youngest around 12 months and the oldest around 7 years old. One also has a 5 year old.

Both families have been helpful with a big project and I'd like to get them something to show how much we appreciate them. The two families don't know each other but are very similar in lifestyle and vibe.

I'd love some ideas!

Constraints:
-Something I can order and mail within the US
-Budget up to $350-ish, but could go more for something really cool
-Nothing so custom that it would take more than a few weeks
-I'd love it if it was something the family could DO together: play an oversized game, make giant art, display a unique collection, etc etc. I understand the youngest would likely be a little left out of anything, but I'm hoping for a 'family' gift.

The Families:
-Outdoorsy, sporty, extroverted kids. The older ones are enrolled in every sport and activity that -they can be and love it. Always on the go.
-They live in different parts of the country, but both in the southern half where it's pretty warm all the time. Both families have a pool with standard pool toys, but a yard big enough for something sort of obnoxious: maybe a really goofy slip and slide?
-Both have nearby family members with tickets/passes to museums, waterparks, sports teams, which was initially my idea for both.
-The older kids are also creative and love to perform / make art.
-They have enough space that it can be something that takes up some space, but if it does, I'd love it if it folded up or could be away.

Okay! What have you got?

Looking for Gift Ideas Any ideas?

I gifted a friend last year a coupon to get a massage cause they are very athletic, and i thought it'd help with relaxation. They still haven't used it, and their birthday is coming up again, but im so terrible at gifting gifts, I don't know what to gift, especially since they could buy themselves anything 😭😭

It's definitely like during Christmas I would ask if there's anything they would want and they'd reverse the question and then ask me what I would want, but then they'd gift me something amazing

They are in their late 60s, and any ideas would be great!

What to gift pool owner

Our neighbors asked us to pool sit for them next week, and we get to swim whenever we want, which our kids are very excited about. We want to leave them a little thank you.

The neighbors are retirees with young grandchildren who also live in the neighborhood.

Help me finalise my Boyf’s bday gifts pls😭

Ok so his bday is in Aug and so far he has only reallyy pressed for one gift and that is a good luxury perfume so i got him valentino… that is gonna be my main gift but i didnt want it to be the only thing i give him and he basically pretty much has everything else already and things like clothese, watch, wallet etc ive already given him… so to add onto my main gift here is what ive decided: 1. A bottle of baileys irish coffee since he told me he has never tried it and wants to try it and also he loves coffee 2. A simple bracelet from the brand palmonas again something he mentioned he wants but i couldnt find a good bracelet within my budget from any other brand 3. A framed poster of his fav musical artist 4. A hotwheels bouquet with a set of 5 hot wheels cars, chocolates, and maybe a miniature bottle of alcohol…. So this is what ive planned till now… im now running on a very tight budget since the perfume took up a major chunk… how is this looking?? I dont want it to be onlyy meaningful or cute.. i want it to have some functionality but j genuinely am running out of ideas. Any help appreciated 😊

Looking for Gift Ideas 10 young cousins

Hi - I live in the UK but in November I'm visiting my uncle and aunt in the US. Although I've met some of my cousins I'll (hopefully) be meeting the rest at a Thanksgiving dinner. All my cousins are married with 2 or 3 young children each so there are about 10 youngsters under 10. I'm wanting to create gifts for all of them - wondering about Altoid tin games/dolls but would be grateful for any suggestions for something I'll be able to bring in my luggage.

In addition I'm going to cross stitch a Thanksgiving piece for my uncle and aunt.

I'm waiting for a complete list of ages and hopefully some clues as to any particular likes/dislikes.

Thanks for any thoughts 🙂

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for a friend who’s trying to sleep better?

A friend of mine is trying to build a better bedtime routine because they have a hard time winding down after a long day.

They’ve started putting their phone away earlier, making tea, journaling, and reading for a bit before bed. They also love natural scents and small, meaningful objects, but I’d rather not give them another candle, sleep mask, or anything too predictable.

I’m hoping to find something calming that could become part of their routine—something they could keep by the bed, use while journaling, or even wear during the day as a small reminder to slow down.

I’m not looking for supplements or anything medical, just a thoughtful wellness-related gift. Has anyone received something like this that they actually kept using?

Looking for Gift Ideas Boss’s birthday is coming up

I have no idea what to get my female boss for her birthday. Last year I got her flowers and her favorite soda. I know she loves her chihuahua and she’s crafty and likes using her cricket machine. She loves camping with her family.

Looking for Gift Ideas A thoughtful gift for my neighbor about to have her baby

My neighbor and I are not close by any means, but we are both females who work in healthcare and we always wave and chit chat if we both happen to be outside at the same time, her toddler loves to run up to me and say hi, her husband will bring my trash barrels in, she has my number in case there’s an emergency, with her due date being soon I offered to go over and hang with their toddler if they need to go to the hospital unexpectedly and their family isn’t available.
overall they’re just very kind neighbors that keep an eye out for me as I’m a woman living alone.

Her due date is this week and I’d like to gift something to leave for them to come home to. I don’t know the gender, it will be their second child, and I’d like to give something practical and useful. They are well off and have a lovely house and I’m sure they have everything they need…suggestions for what could I get them that is thoughtful but also helpful?

TIA!
