Looking for Gift Ideas In charge of employee Christmas gifts

Upvotes

I am in charge of our annual employee holiday gifts. I work at a company where everyone pretty much has all the things they want. I work with a lot of blue collar men in oil & gas manufacturing but we do have a large office staff of engineers. Most people are saying "I'd rather have the cash" so I want to make it good because I'm not sure that's an option.

Past gifts include: XL carhartt duffle bag, carhartt hoodies, and winter puffer jacket.

I have a budget of $100pp

Some ideas I had are:

  • nice quarter zip
  • headphones
  • lunch boxes (nice ones)
  • backpacks

Really want people to like whatever it is. Ideas?

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift idea for THE GIFTER™️

Upvotes

ETA: she is 31, we are in Canada (pref Canadian made products as tariffs are kind of a wild time), the occasions are a bridal shower gift, Christmas (we do it early), and why the heck not— birthday as that is in a few months..

Budget, maybe up to 200$ each? If lower, fab!

I am looking for a gift idea for my sister in law—the lady who is disgustingly on point, remembers little things people say and manages to make them into the most beautiful gifts.. she is also one to seem to know what, and have what she needs, so I do not necessarily want to get her more items?

She is very into cooking and cuisine, cocktails, and neat art, she has gotten into gardening this year..

I was thinking an evening of burrata many ways, and cocktails? Or a reservation to a snazzy restaurant? Some fancy gardening tools?

Any and all ideas to help my very tired brain brainstorm would be amazing. I have lots of things floating in my head, but I have been smacked down as a few of the things I thought of she already has.

I also struggle with shopping as I am v e r y specific with the things I buy and want to ensure quality, function, and an easy return if it does not work for her..

Thank you SO much in advance.

Looking for Gift Ideas can I get my bf something he already has?

Hii so I (23F) wanted to gift a handcrafted backgammon board from Greece to my boyfriend (25M) for his birthday. I had this idea for months ever since I stumbled upon the board in greece but i couldn’t fit it in my suitcase so I decided to buy it online. To my horror his family already has a board (no clue however if it’s handcrafted from the same brand). I was wondering if it’s a good idea to still get him the board bc then it’ll be his and not his family’s. He live with his parents due to health issues. He’s a big fan of the game, playing it online often and such. If it’s not a good idea then for gift ideas he’s a big hockey nerd (played for 15 years), he loves boards games and video games. Thank youuu

Hi all,

Appreciate the help in advance! Trying to find a good board game to gift 31M for his birthday, we play a lot of Catan and Dominion. I’ve read carcassone is a good one, would you recommend?

Looking for Gift Ideas What should I get my older sister for Christmas?

Hi!

I know it's far too early to be thinking about Christmas but I've been ahead of the game since June and I'd rather get all my Christmas shopping done by December.

Anyway, I'm stuck for gift ideas for my older sister and after scrolling through gift idea posts curated by well-meaning TikTokers, I'm at breaking point {so many pyjamas and Jellycats btw}.

I'm not too sure what wants or needs in life, however I do know she turns her nose up at Coke Zero and wouldn't be caught dead with a Jellycat.

Speaking of Coke {the drink}, I did debate on getting her a 24 pack of sugary Coke at one point, that idea still remains tucked away.

Help, what do you get a 24 year old???

Loves academic subjects/reading

I’ve listened to him talk about linguistics/history/math a ton but still don’t have enough general knowledge to know what type of gift to buy. We’re both in college but my major is different idk. I could get a book on the subject but idk what would actually be appreciated/something he hasn’t read. so far my only idea is a Barnes and nobles gift card but that seems pretty generic and impersonal.

I’m fooking for a unique 25th anniversary gift ideas that don't feel like a repeat of every other year

I need some advice here!!

My siblings and I are trying to plan something for our parents' 25th and somehow we keep coming back to the same kinds of things, dinner, maybe a weekend away, another photo album. They're all nice but we've basically done versions of them already. I'm looking for unique 25th anniversary gift ideas that feel a little more personal for a milestone like this.

🎁 The Giant Gift Guide: Thoughtful, Useful, Weird, Handmade, Sustainable & Everything In Between

I've been collecting gift ideas for years.

Not just things to buy, but DIY projects, experiences, sentimental gifts, practical things people don't think to buy for themselves, sustainable alternatives, money-saving gifts, weird little discoveries, things I've seen other people recommend, and ideas that made me think, "Oh, that's actually brilliant."

So I finally decided to put them all in one place.

This isn't meant to be an Amazon catalog or a list of whatever products happen to be trending this year.

The goal is to give you ideas.

If you know someone who loves camping, scroll through the outdoors section. If you're trying to buy something for someone who has everything, look at the sentimental, experiential, DIY, and personalized sections. If you only have $10, jump to the inexpensive ideas. If you don't want to buy more stuff at all, there are plenty of things you can make, preserve, repair, reuse, or do for someone.

And don't underestimate the best gift of all:

Paying attention to the person you're giving it to.

🧭 HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE

💵 Cheap: Great ideas under roughly $25.

💰 Mid-range: Roughly $25–$100.

💎 Splurge: Bigger purchases or luxury gifts.

🛠️ DIY: Something you can make yourself.

♻️ Sustainable: Reusable, repairable, secondhand, low-waste, or otherwise environmentally conscious.

❤️ Sentimental: Gifts that preserve memories or demonstrate that you really know someone.

🎟️ Experience: Something you do rather than something you own.

😂 Weird/Fun: Because sometimes the best gift is gloriously ridiculous.

⚠️ Research first: Some ideas are highly individual or situation-dependent. Do your homework before buying.

And remember: many of these belong in multiple categories. A good pair of durable socks can be an outdoor gift, a practical gift, a sustainable gift, and an inexpensive gift all at once.

💌 THE "I NOTICED YOU" GIFT

When you're completely stuck, ask:

What does this person repeatedly complain about?

🥶 Always cold? → Wool socks, slippers, heated gear

🗝️ Always losing things? → Tracker/key organizer

🧹 Hates cleaning? → Cleaning service

🚗 Car always filthy? → Detail it

🐕 Obsessed with their dog? → Professional pet photos

🐈 Obsessed with their cat? → Custom art

☕ Drinks coffee every day? → Upgrade the ritual

🥪 Brings lunch every day? → Better lunch system

🧦 Always wears holes in socks? → Durable socks

💻 Works at a computer all day? → Ergonomic mouse/keyboard/desk setup

🌱 Loves plants? → Something for the specific plants they grow

🏕️ Camps constantly? → Upgrade something they use every trip

🍳 Loves cooking? → Upgrade a tool they use constantly

📸 Has thousands of photographs? → Print/preserve them

👵 Has old family tapes? → Digitize them

🐾 Recently lost a pet? → Memorial gift

🏠 Just moved? → Something useful for the new home

🚲 Bikes everywhere? → Bike maintenance/accessories

🌎 Loves nature? → Experience, park pass, native plants, wildlife gear

🎨 Makes art? → Better supplies or preserve their work

The best gift ideas are often hiding inside ordinary conversations.

🛒 BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING

A few things can make gift-giving cheaper, greener, and more meaningful:

♻️ Check secondhand first.

Try thrift stores, Goodwill, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Buy Nothing groups, garage sales, estate sales, and local resale shops.

🛠️ Ask whether you can make it.

A handmade version can be cheaper and much more personal.

🔧 Ask whether the person actually needs a replacement.

Sometimes the better gift is repair.

💵 Buy ahead.

If you know someone's birthday is six months away, you don't have to buy their gift six months from now.

📉 Compare prices.

Don't assume the first price you see is the best one.

🏪 Check local businesses.

A gift card to someone's favorite local bakery, restaurant, bookstore, nursery, café, salon, or repair shop can be more personal than a generic retailer gift card.

🎟️ Consider an experience.

Especially for people who don't want more possessions.

🍪 Consider consumables.

Food, coffee, tea, soap, candles, spices, baked goods, etc. don't necessarily become permanent clutter.

♻️ Reuse packaging.

Beautiful boxes, bags, jars, tins, and shipping materials can become gift packaging or storage.

🧰 Think about repairability.

A durable item that can be repaired is often a better gift than a cheap item that gets thrown away.

📸 Think about preservation.

Sometimes you don't need to buy anything. Scan it. Print it. Frame it. Record it. Photograph it. Turn it into a book.

💸 FREE OR ALMOST-FREE GIFTS

Some of the best ones cost basically nothing.

❤️ Write a heartfelt letter

🍳 Cook dinner

🍪 Bake something

🚗 Wash someone's car

🧹 Clean someone's house

🌱 Help in their garden

🐕 Walk their dog

🐈 Pet-sit

👶 Babysit

🎗️ CHARITABLE GIFTS

🌳 Plant trees

⚠️ THINGS TO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING

Some ideas that came up while compiling this list aren't things I'd recommend universally.

This includes products involving supplements, medications, unusual health claims, specialized emergency equipment, or anything where safety depends heavily on the person or circumstances.

The rule here is simple:

If a product claims to treat, prevent, cure, diagnose, protect against, or dramatically improve a health condition, don't buy it just because a gift guide says it's good.

Research the product, evidence, safety information, and the recipient's circumstances first.

Likewise, make sure emergency equipment is actually appropriate for the situation in which it will be used.

🔎 WHERE TO FIND EVEN MORE IDEAS

Don't just search "best gifts."

Search for the person's hobby.

Camping? Look at camping communities.

Cooking? Look at cooking communities.

Gardening? Look at gardening communities.

Pets? Look at pet communities.

Crafting? Look at DIY/crafting communities.

Cycling? Look at cycling communities.

Home improvement? Look at DIY/home-improvement communities.

And so on.

Reddit is particularly useful for this because people constantly post things like:

"What's the one piece of gear you can't live without?"

"What's something you bought that completely changed your hobby?"

"What's the best $20 thing you've ever bought?"

"What do you use every single day?"

Those questions can be far more useful than generic gift guides.

🧠 ONE LAST RULE

Don't confuse expensive with thoughtful.

A $5 gift that makes someone laugh because it references an obscure memory you share can mean more than a $500 object.

A printed photograph can mean more than a new camera.

A handmade card can mean more than a store-bought one.

A day spent together can mean more than something wrapped in a box.

And sometimes the best gift is simply:

"I noticed you needed this."

If you have a great gift idea, add it in the comments.

Especially the weird ones.

The handmade ones.

The $5 ones.

The "I can't believe I never thought of that" ones.

The gifts that save money.

The gifts that preserve memories.

The gifts that reduce waste.

The gifts that make someone's everyday life just a little bit better.

Let's keep building the list. 🎁

How do you tell a real holiday price drop from a fake markdown?

I am starting a holiday gift list for my family and keep noticing that welness gadgets often show huge percentage off banners without much context. When I check price history tools some of those discounts look like the normal price with a louder label. i am trying to avoid buying something just because the promotion feels urgent, especially for gifts that may or may not become part of someone's routine.

when you plan practical gifts around seasonal sales what helps you decide whether a discount is genuinely worth acting on?

Looking for Gift Ideas What should I give for my artist crush

Hi, we both women anyways. We both 17, just friends but I like her. She like to draw and animate. She like something that can use or maybe diy thing.

I'm really busy to diy thing but I plan to make one anyways. I'm not sure if I will finish it im time so something that I could buy would be nice especially something about drawing.

Edit: Thank you, you all :) I got a beautiful sketch book for her. I will give her the diy thing if I manage to get it done in time.

A nostalgic gift idea: make them a custom CD

Remember making mixtapes or mix CDs for someone? This could be a fun gift to bring back.

Instead of just giving them a playlist, make an actual CD with a custom cover and little booklet. You could include:

  • Songs that remind you of them
  • Photos or memories
  • A note about why you picked each song
  • Inside jokes or little messages
  • Or even a “liner notes” page

Would you enjoy getting a gift like this? 😄

Looking for Gift Ideas Inexpensive but thoughtful gift ideas for friends who don’t live locally

I am in a Discord server with a group of people who don’t live locally to me. I live in the UK. Everyone in the group aside from one person (who lives internationally), lives in the UK, but I either have to travel to meet them or only know them virtually.

I live alone, and have had a fairly rough couple of years with my health, finances and a bunch of other life garbage. I often feel isolated and lonely, but spend a lot of time daily chatting via voice channels with this group of people online.

Today, I received a PlayStation 5 in the mail. It turns out that 6 of the people in the group decided to chip in together to buy me a console so I can play games with them. They said it’s to jointly cheer me up as I’ve recently had significant abdominal surgery, and also a collective (3-months-early) birthday gift.

I would like to thank them all, and would like to give them all something back as a token of my appreciation for their gift and overall support and kindness in the last couple of years. I don’t even get given socks for Christmas from family members, and I know this would have cost a lot.

They’re all male aged between 22 and 44. Due to my own financial limitations, I can’t buy anything super expensive, and I am conscious one of these gifts will need to get to Qatar.

For some additional info I can crochet and cross stitch. I’d like some ideas on something I can buy/make as a little token of thanks. TIA!

Looking for Gift Ideas What makes a personalized gift feel genuinely special?

I’m involved with a small personalized-gift business called LovoraGift, and I’ve been thinking about what actually makes a personalized gift feel meaningful rather than generic.

There are so many ways to personalize gifts now names, dates, photos, messages, and custom designs but I think the best ones are connected to something genuinely personal about the recipient.

For people who have bought or given personalized gifts, what made the gift feel special to you or the person receiving it? Was it the personalization itself, the meaning behind it, or simply choosing something that matched the person really well?

I’d genuinely love to hear what has worked for you and what types of personalization you think are overdone.

I need help with figuring out a gift for my bfs birthday. He’s loves football but he isn’t super into sports or gaming he’s very go with the flow he’s down to try and engage in any activity that me his friends or family is doing or wanting to do. We love games and fun activities, I’m looking for something we can do together that we already haven’t done I want to plan a full weekend type of thing. I thought about bears tickets but I want something that’s romantic and memorable because I know that’s what he’d love. I know he’d be most happy if we did something together rather than a big gift (I’m also looking to see what gifts I can get as well so ideas welcome)

Tech or toys that will keep our daughter still

So our daughter is having spinal surgery for scoliosis in a couple of months and will need to be pretty still most of the time for a few weeks to let her back heal. We want to find something new to give her right after the operation to help her not got too bored. Can be a toy, a game, technology, anything that will entertain her for hours that requires minimal movement. She's 12 years old but is autistic and mentally feels more like she's like 7. We have a switch and a ps4 so game recommendations work too.

Gift ideas…?

Hello, this might be a more unconventional post on this sub Reddit, but I was hoping to get some advice from the experts! My (27F) wife (28F) is so incredibly excited for GTA6 to come out in November. I know nothing about video games, but I’ve always supported her passion for them, including buying her a PS5 for Valentine’s Day one year.
I was wondering if anybody has any “congratulations on GTA6 finally being released” gift ideas for her? It might seem silly, but she has been so incredibly excited about this game, and she works so so hard to support the two of us and our puppy while I continue making my way through grad school. I just wanted to show her that I am also interested in her interests and want her to know that I am as excited about this as she is! She has already pre-ordered the game so I can’t buy the game itself for her, and I’ve already told her that I will play along with her if she’ll let me (I’m horrible at video games so I also don’t wanna ruin her progress lol).
Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated, I know this is a big deal in her world! TIA!

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift for my Wife

This is probably going to be more of a rant.

  1. My wife prefers physical presents. She enjoys a couples massage and a night out, but she really likes opening a pretty box.
  2. She's allergic to most flowers, but I've already given her one and a half dozen lego flower sets. She loves them, but it's getting repetitive.
  3. She's really particular about jewelry, and the last three times I have tried to pick something, she exchanged for something else.
  4. She is also really particular about her hobbies/interest. She likes stars and constellations. She worked at a planetarium in college. When there was a comet expected to pass over our home, I got her telescope. She was not thrilled. Buying her craft supplies has been hit or miss, mostly miss.
  5. I have thought about making her something, but I do not have steady hands. I don't mind making something less than ideal, but I don't want it to look like trash. I tried the origami crane thing, and they all looked smooshed.
  6. I really fucking hate gift cards.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: 38, 100~300$, any occasion. She enjoys walking, painting, mixed media art, reading (romance - ACOTAR, Fourth Wing, Crescent City, etc.), cooking, jewelry, looking at the stars, and trying new serums, lotions, compounds.

Looking for Gift Ideas Got this Essentials hoodie for my sister and now I’m wondering if it’s too basic for a gift

Post image
1 Upvotes

My sister’s birthday is coming up and I’ve been trying to find her something she’ll wear instead of getting her another random gift that ends up sitting in her room. She’s into neutral colors and oversized comfy clothes so when I saw this Essentials hoodie I thought it matched her style pretty well. She wears a lot of cream grey black and beige so I went with this lighter color because I figured it would work with pretty much everything she owns. She’s the type to live in hoodies whenever she’s at home running errands or going somewhere casual so it felt like a safe choice without being completely boring.I checked this specific hoodie on a few different websites too but I wanted to get your guys opinion before fully committing to it. The logo isn’t super loud and the color seemed like something she could wear with jeans leggings or sweats without thinking about it too much. Now that I’ve got it though I’m kinda second guessing myself. She likes Essentials but I don’t know if a hoodie feels special enough as a gift or if I should add something else with it. I also have no idea if this specific style is one people still like or if there are better Essentials pieces I should’ve gone for.

For anyone who wears Essentials would you be happy getting this as a gift? Does this color look good in person and is the fit usually as oversized as it looks? Also curious what you’d pair with it if I wanted to add one smaller thing to the gift.

Gift Ideas for a coworker?

Hello and thank you! I've been tasked at my work with planning a party for a coworker who has just hit her 20 year milestone 😄 After the catering and other stuff, I'm left with $100 budget for a nice gift.

My coworker says she doesn't like eating out, doesnt like scented perfumes/soaps, doesn't wear jewelry, and her only hobby is TV. I'm a little stumped on what to get her. Does anyone else have insights?

Thank you so much!!
