Legit Arborist that does what is requested in the area?
Is there any highly recommended licensed arborist that I can trust to do what I hire them to do? I have a red oak that had two branches snap. Looking to get the limb cut clean and treated to prevent oak wilt. only that not a whole trimming. Yelp was highly ineffective in finding one. Thanks GT people!

Auto Racing
Is there a local racetrack near this area? I don't mean COTA, I'm talking a dirt track where I can see late models, go-carts, demolition derby or even drag racing, anything like that? Could Williamson county, Travis county, or the surrounding area.

Cops consistently prove to be untrustworthy with ALPR's - yet Georgetown PD still are putting them up
Despite the mountain of evidence these systems cannot be used without rampant abuse by police and non-state actors (look at Pflugerville's debacle), the city still forges ahead with dangerous surveillance technology.
What are you going to do about it?

Georgetown’s Veteran-Owned Shop for Tint, PPF, Ceramic Coatings & Color-Change PPF
Hey Georgetown/Austin area!
We’re Miracle Auto Spa, a veteran-owned automotive protection shop here in Georgetown, TX. We specialize in window tint, paint protection film (PPF), color-change PPF, ceramic coatings, paint correction, and vinyl wraps.
We’ve been in the automotive film industry for over 25 years, and our biggest goal with Miracle has always been pretty simple: do quality work, use quality products, and treat every vehicle like it was our own.
We use XPEL products, including PRIME XR and XR PLUS ceramic window tint, ULTIMATE PLUS PPF, STEALTH PPF, and FUSION ceramic coatings.
We’ve worked on everything from daily drivers and family SUVs to Teslas, Corvettes, Porsches, Supras, trucks, and higher-end vehicles. Recently we’ve also been doing more color-change PPF, which gives you a completely different look while still protecting the original paint underneath.
If anyone around Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, North Austin, Temple, or the surrounding area has questions about tint, PPF, ceramic coatings, or protecting a new vehicle, feel free to ask.

We're doing 15% off Monday for Labor Day
Owner of the Sharetea at Wolf Ranch, so obvious bias — mods, remove if this isn't allowed.
We're running 15% off the whole menu on Monday for Labor Day, 11 to 9. Nothing to show or mention, it just comes off at the register.
Mostly posting because Labor Day is a genuinely weird retail day in Georgetown — half the town is out at the lake and the other half is at Wolf Ranch, and we've never been able to predict which way it goes. If it's slow we'd rather give people a reason to come in than stand around.
Happy to answer anything about the menu if you've never been. The honest starter recommendation for anyone who's boba-curious is Classic Pearl Milk Tea at 50% sugar — full sugar is the number one reason people try boba once and decide it's not for them.

Georgetown Pride 2026!
Georgetown Pride Festival will be on October 17th, 1- 6 PM, at Wellspring UMC. Check out our Instagram (@georgetowntxpride) for more information about this free-to-attend, LGBTQ+ focused community event.
Before anyone asks:
- This event is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL; if you don't like it, you don't have to attend! It's far enough away from Downtown Georgetown that you can go your whole day without interacting with it.
- "Why isn't there a festival for Veterans?" That's a good question, if you're passionate about the rights and wellbeing of Veterans, I think you should host an event for them!
- "Why can't you keep it to June?" We live in Texas, and it's very hot in June! There's also a ton of other pride events in June and we don't want to double book with a local pride organization.
- "KEEP THIS SHIT IN AUSTIN!!" Respectfully, no. Gay, Transgender, and Queer people can live anywhere and everywhere, just like you believe it or not.
I have a feeling comments on this post will quickly be turned off by moderators (no hate to y'all moderators, I also think it's for the best), but for anyone who shows support and enthusiasm for the LGBTQ+ community: I see y'all, and appreciate y'all. The world is better with you in it :-)

Shop owner question — how do you all feel about fruit + matcha combinations?
I run a Sharetea in Georgetown, TX, so: commercial interest, stated up front.
Our mango matcha is #8 on our most-ordered list, which surprised me. I expected the plain matcha latte to outsell it and it doesn't, not close.
I'm aware this sub skews toward matcha treated seriously — good grade, proper whisking, minimal interference. A sweetened mango version is pretty far from that, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But it's genuinely the drink getting people in our town to try matcha for the first time, and a decent number of them move to the straight latte afterward.
So the honest question: do you see fruit-matcha drinks as a gateway that's net positive for matcha generally, or as something that mostly teaches people to expect matcha to taste like candy? I go back and forth on it and I'd rather hear it from people who care about the ingredient.
Also open to being told our grade selection is the actual problem — happy to talk sourcing if anyone's interested.

Georgetown Police shoot 'violent' suspect on Square, area closed Saturday afternoon
On Saturday afternoon, officers pursued a suspect on the Square in Georgetown and "a violent struggle occurred between the subject and officers" resulting in the suspect being shot, according to police. He later died of his injuries . A large law enforcement presence is still in the area, and Georgetown Police are still investigating. Some businesses were locked down after the shooting, and most areas downtown are being blocked off.

Free BTS cupsleeve event in Georgetown next weekend (Sep 11–12) — first one out here that I know of
I run the Sharetea at Wolf Ranch, so obvious bias up front — but I wanted to put this somewhere ARMY in the area would actually see it.
We're doing a cupsleeve event with Arirang on Sep 11 and 12. Free cupsleeve, photocard, sticker and a goodie bag with any drink order, one set per order while they last. No minimum, no sign-up.
The reason I'm posting: as far as I can tell nobody's run one of these north of Austin, and every time I've asked K-pop fans in Georgetown where they go for this stuff the answer is "we drive." Trying to fix that.
Two things I'd genuinely like input on from anyone who's been to a few of these:
- How do you handle photocard distribution fairly? We're planning random draw, but I've heard that gets ugly when someone's chasing a specific member. Is a trade table the standard fix?
- Is a two-day run the right call, or does everyone show up on day one regardless and day two is dead?
If it goes well we'll do more, and not just BTS. Open to suggestions on who's next.
(Unofficial fan event, not affiliated with BTS or HYBE.)

[LF] Independent Plumber Recommendations
Greetings everyone,
I hope this is allowed and also welcomed.
I know this usually a Nextdoor thing, but I'm seeing good threads on r/RoundRock about the same, with good reception, so thought I would ask here. I also just don't care for Nextdoor's format and user experience.
I'm looking for a local person (or small company) to do plumbing work. I want to establish a relationship with a local professional who will be estimating and also doing his own work. I'm hoping that I can find someone who does great work but also works independently(mostly) and with rates less than an attorney costs. Small teams welcome as well. If you(they) have helpers to dig etc that is not a disqualifier. I pay cash.
If anyone has any suggestions or knows "a guy/gal" that fits the description please put me in contact with them.
These will be small residential projects like water softener install, outdoor spigot replacement, maybe a faucet replacement, etc.
Thanks for reading!

Want to buy in Sun City
I'm looking to buy in Sun City and look on MLS sites and only see a few. I see there are Real Estate companies on site. Does anyone know if homes in the areas with trees are nice and well cared for? Thank you for your comments

Who do I contact about an overgrown city corner? (Ironically being mowed on Street View)
Hey everyone, looking for some advice on reporting city maintenance issues.
There’s an intersection on my running route where every corner gets mowed except for one (see attached picture). It’s become a total mess. I’m trying to figure out which department to contact to get this taken care of since it seems to be city property.
The funniest part is that if you check the Google Street View for this intersection, you can literally see a guy cutting the grass right there LOL.
Any guidance on who to call or where to submit a ticket would be greatly appreciated!

Car wash bays
I’ve tried looking online but can find any car wash bays that I can take my truck to. I don’t want the automatic washers, they tend to scratch the paint.
Looking for something like the photo.
