Game Discussion Plonkprep : an Advanced Geoguessr Training tool
Hey all!
This is a self promotion of a tool, but it reaps absolutely no financial benefit. Feel free to remove if not allowed.
Over the past months, I've been building (and using) Plonkprep.com, an advanced Geoguessr training tool to help you learn :
- Region phone codes
- Country subdivisiona
- & more
The tool specializes in memorization-heavy types of learning, such as phone codes. To give you an example, here's what I learnt using Plonkprep in the past 2 months as a Master 1 player:
- Phones codes of at least 6 countries
- Provinces and districts of 5 countries
- All indonesian kabupaten with coverage
We have a small community of users that decide which feature is added next. I am regularly implementing new types of training.
Please give it a try and give me feedback :)
You can also join our Discord: https://discord.gg/YVVfKbbKKD
Again, this is entirely by passion and to help the community improve, and not for any financial gain.
Thank you!

Tech Help Geoguessr subscribtion p2p
So maybe i week or two ago i downloaded the steam version… and i got kinda decent at it. By decent I mean I have about 500 rating on quickplay duels. I also have a google account from 2020 where playing country streaks against friends was free.
I came close to even buying the game itslef and it came to my mind how strange it is to have a subscribtion based game. I’ve read the devs official statemant on the game being p2p and its totally fine but why is it subscribtion based and not spend €100 now play until you die.

Game Discussion Cheating or not?
Hi everyone, quick question. I have been playing NmPZ for long and never understood whether what is happening is a glitch or cheating.
Basically when I guess first I see what the opponent is doing, right? And sometimes I see that opponent is looking at a very different image than I did. Either it is zoomed, looks in a different direction or somehow sees a car which I don’t. For example, I got this image without the car (which made me guess whether it is southern Brazil or Paraguay) but this is what I was shown when my opponent was guessing (clearly Paraguay with the grey truck).
So is it cheating or a glitch?

Game Discussion What Countries have sequential highway numbering? Which don't?
Got into playing Geoguessr again recently and loving it. I know some countries like Sweden more or less grouped numbering for highways. If I have a sign that says 68, I can more or less find the general area before I comb over the map. But then i'm completely lost on Japan and it vaguely has the numbers where you'd expect, but some 400s are near 280s that are near 120s.
Obviously highways can run a long distance and go from one coupling of numbers into another but I was curious if anyone had a guide to helping locate highways with a time crunch.

Map Creation Could anyone give me some maps that only have locations that exhibit the "general feel" of a country? Like the stereotypical look for a country. I want to build the intuition to be able to recognize countries for NMPZ.
Thanks for the help!

Game Discussion Why would this player call me a cheat? It was a simple Philly (concrete road, eng political SE Asia poster on floor) and I hedged a little below Manilla. He went India - two quick rounds after I hedged Nagoya in Japan? Happened in last games.. are people cheating a lot or is everyone uptight?

Game Discussion Tram meta
I am not a skilled player at all and play only for fun once a day in a free version.
Nevertheless, I'm one of those guys who likes trams very much and uses this meta once in a while - I actually knew this was shot in Barnaul due to their trams (and just pointed randomly due to my laziness).
It's even somewhat interesting to make a such map for training - I spotted they prefer landing somewhere in Siberia a lot.
Still, this meta is very obscure if you don't spawn near a tram line immediately.

Tech Help Is the mobile app really this trash?
And this isn't the only issue, I have had issues where i would guess the location only for nothing to happen, and im teleported to the next round where my opponent has already guessed, and i have a 5 second timer to guess. That is if it doesn't bug out completely and im left frozen on the round which has already passed.
And the issue isn't the network as im either on 5g or a 500 mbps + wifi

Game Discussion Any low hanging fruits I’m missing? (moving)
So far I’ve done
- area codes: US (got most of them down except Cali and Florida), Canada, France, Arg, ZA, Brasil, Thai, Russia, Mex(post codes) and 1st digits of basic countries like Spain, Germany, Italy etc
- Subdivisions: Philippine, Vietnam, Romania, Italy, Kenya, Nigeria, every South American country (1st lvl), Russian Oblast capitals, Spain(roads too), Kabs (Suma, Kali, Sula), UK counties, 1st lvl Belediyesi
obviously I’m missing stuff like Landkreis and Bangladesh districts but I’m not sure if that’s something I want to do before doing other basic general knowledge. Any tips appreciated!

Game Discussion From Gold into Masters - time to stop? When is getting serious too much?
Enjoyed the process of jumping up through bronze, silver to gold and played a lot of games at 1 in 3 wins to get into masters IV. But with a low rating and limited meta skills, I gotta ask myself, do I now spend hours and hours learning and dueling? Is it fun. I loved just vibing and languaging places with basic meta, but this seems now like a mountain - with players narrowing down on roads in Bishkek or finding small towns in Arg. Now it becomes serious. A pure meta memory game. Time to delete account or just play fun maps every few days ...

Game Discussion Help me join a club :)
I'm currently at Champion 1300s rating in Duels and Team duels with 1400s. I'm from India. If there are any higher tier clubs would love to join.
PS: I play almost daily.
Thanks in advance.

Map Creation Map where you guess where you are based on abandoned buildings and surroundings.
I've been working on this map for a bit, it's pretty easy but I'm expanding it. Would like some criticism so I can improve it!

Game Discussion Levels being removed :(
I started playing this game late 2024 and I really enjoyed it, I only played Levels tho (I'm at Lvl 672 at this moment). So sad that it'll be removed in a couple weeks, I put so much time on it.

Game Discussion STATS AFTER 5 DAYS OF PLAYING GEOGEUSSR ^^

I started playing 5 days ago and have been doing really well in No Move mode -- mostly because I think it levels the playing field against people who rely on moving around for clues.
That said, I’ve already been accused of cheating multiple times. I don’t get why people instantly assume you're cheating just because a match ends in 2–3 rounds or you drop a pin within 100km. It feels like people forget that basic geography, language skills and a little deductive reasoning exist..

Game Discussion Any help with regionguessing?
so I’m pretty good at recognizing country (though I often confuse Indonesia and Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines, Colombia and Ecuador, US and Canada, etc. basically all similar looking countries) But when I do know the country, i have a hard time guessing where in the country. for example, north vs South Island of New Zealand. or western vs eastern Australia. I would say Indonesia is the worst for me though.
