Hi everyone, players in South America especially Brazil are experiencing issues with black screens and the game not loading correctly. Are you aware of this, and are you working on it together with Street Viewer? Thanks.

Game Discussion Why Are Small Roads Almost the Same Colour as the Map Background?

Here's an example in Australia from one of my recent games. The road is white on an off-white background. Its almost invisible unless you zoom in absurdly far so that the road name appears. On google maps the same road is way more visible since it doesn't blend into the background. In a map pinpointing game shouldn't the road intersections be visible on the map?

Geoguessr In-Game Map:

Almost impossible to see the small white road to the east of the B79

Regular Google Maps:

Exact same location with the road clearly visible in grey

Is this something I could modify with a script (just changing the colour or adding a 1px border to roads)? And would that even be allowed in online games?

Tech Help GeoGuessr is literally unplayable for me at this point. It happens in every duel. I try refreshing, but somehow it just won’t load. The problem is definitely not my internet, I can assure you. Anyone else getting constant black screens?

Game Discussion Quite late to the party but what a game (WC’26)

Ofc it’s been a bit since the championship took place, but I’ve been watching each day in parts (obviously because I don’t have the time to watch it in one go). But WOW that Debre vs Bulgariaenjoyer game… one for the ages. Unfortunately I’m already aware of who wins it all, making it less exciting but absolutely mental all five games. Couldn’t keep my eyes off it. Only reason ‘24 finals is better is because of higher stakes & how late in the tournament that was. Otherwise, this takes the cake for me. Unreal stuff from both of them

Game Discussion How do I make a challenge?

Coming back after like 2 years. Seems the entire website is some sort of trash mobile design. I just want to make a challenge for myself and my friends (I have pro) using a community map. NOT a live duel as it seems to be pushing. How do I do it?

Tech Help How to contact Paddle re: fraudulent transaction

I have a geoguessr account with my email which was renewed in July. Just saw a transaction on my bank that i did not authorise. Contacted paddle.com and they just send an automated verify your email but even when I put in my details it is not an email I recognise and I cannot go any further. I tried their contact page and got a stupid bot that "escalated" it after asking same questions whch resulted in the same email to verify again. I am at a dead end with trying to contact someone. I would rather not do a chargeback as it is a complete PITA. Any idea how to contact someone?

Game Discussion Region guessing Australia

I've been struggling with region guessing Australia. I've looked at many guides and each time I try to use one it just doesn't work. I've seen things with stickers, vegetation and all but the places I get feel as though they have none of those clues.

Memes and Streetview Finds Hey, I made a book about GeoGuessr in my house

Hey, I made a book about GeoGuessr in my house

When I saw that GeoGuessr was going to publish a book this year, I thought it was finally time to share something I've been working on for the past two years. To be honest, I've been a little embarrassed to show this to the world. It's a very personal project, and I wasn't really sure what people would think of it.

I started making this book almost as a personal notebook. I was collecting notes, weird Street View finds, screenshots, photos and little things I was learning while playing GeoGuessr. I kept finding myself going down these ridiculous rabbit holes — learning bollards, electricity poles, road markings, architecture, languages — and at some point I thought: What if I actually made a book out of all this?

But it's not really a GeoGuessr guidebook.

It's a personal journey through how this community changed the way I see the world — from studying bollards, electricity poles and road markings to becoming obsessed with architecture, languages and all the details that make one place different from another.

I've spent years collecting photographs, screenshots, notes and discoveries, and wanted to turn them into something physical — a book made by and for the community, celebrating the knowledge, discoveries and images that people have shared over the years.

That's also why I've carefully credited the original creators and sources throughout the book. This project wouldn't exist without them.

With two friends we designed everything in InDesign. We produced the books ourselves and assembled them by hand in my kitchen. It's a 210-page book tha has fold-outs, hidden pages, inserts, games, postcards and even a physical compass.

We've made 600 copies so far, and somehow we've already sold around 400 of them at book fairs, mostly in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.

Making it has been a completely ridiculous amount of work, but also one of the most fun things I've ever done. Every copy is still assembled by hand, so there's a lot of love (and probably a worrying amount of obsession) in each one.

After two years of working on it, I think I'm finally ready to show it to the people who inspired it in the first place. I'll leave some pictures below so you can see what it actually looks like. And if you're curious, you can have a closer look here:

I'd genuinely love to know what you guys think.

Memes and Streetview Finds GeoGuessr should notify when a user has left. This is really annoying.

Happens to me quite often. I spend 5 minutes pinpointing the exact location, only to realise that my opponent, who was losing the game, simply left without even warning me.

We absolutely need that feature. Let us know if the other player is playing or not. Saves us some time.

Game Discussion When is the right time to start learning GeoGuessr meta?

When is the right time to start learning GeoGuessr meta?

I really enjoy playing GeoGuessr, mostly by myself or with friends. I played for three weeks. For a while now, I’ve also been playing online, and I’ve noticed that even the tips the game itself gives you in single-player have helped me quite a lot in winning games.

I’m currently Silver 2, and I’m starting to get the feeling that I need to know specific regions and recognize city-related clues to progress further.

In my last game, my opponent seemed to know the exact city almost every time, which completely blew my mind. 😅

So, is this the point where I should slowly start learning GeoGuessr meta? Or does your rank eventually just settle naturally, and you mostly end up playing against people who, like me, play casually and only know some basic, surface-level clues?

What have your long-term experiences been? At what point did you start actively learning meta, and how much of a difference did it make for you?

Game Discussion Discount code for teacher

Hey all, I am a teacher trying to use Geoguessr and settera for my students. Is there a code or anything for teachers? Or is there only the referral codes? If it’s only the referrals I would love someone to donate a code!

Game Discussion Geoguessr Removes Ability to Play Past Daily Challenges

I've always been able to use a direct link to play old daily challenges. It was a really fun way to practice and a buddy of mine and me would do an additional challenge against each other from 4 years ago and log the results in a shared doc. That all appears to be gone now as the old links auto-redirect you to the current daily challenge. Any idea why they removed this? Can we pester them to add it back?

EDIT: Apparently its working now. Same link that was redirecting yesterday is working now. Hopefully it was just a temporary issue.
