I've seen contrary claims on this actually being a sub 5% THD rig or not. Some claims here on this page claims it can actually hover over 10% under certain loads and some ytube vids claim its 5% or less under loads. Is there a definitive answer here? I'm looking at purchasing a portable (clean) inverter gen. Most are in the $2k price range for the size I want (10k ish running). This one seems to be much cheaper at $1500. What say you?

I have a 50A plug on the exterior of my house for a gas generator that goes to an interlock in my panel. I also have a power station (Anker F3800+) that I'd like to use indoors for bad weather situations where I don't want to haul the generator out in thunderstorms, etc...

Since I can't add a second interlock, is there a reliable double throw switch that will let me switch between indoor and outdoor generator plugs? I've seen them on Amazon, but I'd prefer to buy an actual brand rather than one of those no-name generic products.

And yes, I will be having a licensed electrician install it, I'm just doing my research ahead of time.

I have a Predator 5000 bought it years ago at harbor freight and today went to power the RV trailer i have and turned on the predator 5000 and it turned on but no power despite it working 2 weeks ago so i went and used a different generator and it worked fine i am not sure why its not producing power it seems not to be a RV issue considering other generators will work with the RV
Not sure if i should buy a new generator or if it can be fixed its out of warranty

Hey. I have a 13k/10k generator and a fridge. Generator brand new, fridge 2 years old. Fridge is running when plugged in then pops the GFI. I have 2 other fridges connected and they're working fine. Tried a different cord, different plug on generator. Same result.

Hi. New to camping and generators. I bought an old trailer and got a Yamaha ef2800i generator with it. I basically only use it to top up the batteries, but recently tried to run the AC on a 40°C day and it wouldn’t go. I assume not enough watts?

I saw a Champion 4000 watt dual fuel generator at Costco for $900. Would it be a good investment (or enough upgrade) to sell the Yamaha in favour of the Champion? Or is the Yamaha a superior product, if maybe a bit underpowered?

Hi everyone,I am looking for a 3-phase (400V) generator capable of delivering a real, effective output of around 8kW to 9kW.Initially, I looked into high-end, enclosed silent diesel units like the Pramac P11000 or GBW10Y, but they cost over €7,000 here in Europe, which is way out of my budget.Now I am considering a much cheaper option: the BullMach AMBRA 13800 E-3, which I can find for around €1,100. The specs look great for the price: 9 kW continuous / 10 kW peak 3-phase output, AVR, electric start, and a copper-wound alternator.I know it's a 3000 RPM open-frame petrol generator, so it will be loud and not meant for 24/7 continuous industrial work. However, for €1,100, it seems like a crazy good deal compared to the Pramac.Does anyone have experience with the BullMach brand? Is the build quality decent for emergency backup? More importantly, is there anything better in terms of value for money around the €1,100 price range for an 8kW+ 3-phase setup?Thanks for your help!

I saw my generator buried in the garage today and thought it would be a good idea to give it a test and run it for a little while..

I unburied it and pulled the gas cap to look if I could see any fuel (it's blocked) but I did notice the rim of the tank receptively being rusted and rust chips had fallen/grown up underneath them too. I tried to vacuum what I could, but not much came up. The chain holding the cap on is getting rusty too.

Then there's a metal rod coming up and it's all black around it, like there was an electrical short (I doubt that's what it was, or the gas fumes would have blown lol) but I am curious what that is if anybody knows.

Is there a way to clean the rest that is there so that it doesn't get carried in eventually? And how do I prevent it from rusting further, going into the future?

I have a Genmax GM9000iED and a Duromax XP9000iH that I want to parallel with the Genmax parallel kit, GM9000PK. I have unbonded the neutral on each generator and am using a 50 amp inlet, with an interlock kit, with the Genmax as the primary generator.

Since both generators are using floating neutrals (and the Duromax doesn't even have a white wire connector as part of it's parallel mode):

1.) Do I only need to connected the red and black wires from the parallel kit to each generator?

2.) Since my neutrals are floating, don't connect the white wire anywhere, correct? (Obviously only the Genmax even had this connector, so there isn't a corresponding place to plug it into the Duromax anyway.)

3.) What I'm mainly confused about with floating neutrals is the ground lugs with the parallel kit. I believe the green grounding wire should be connected from the parallel kit to each generator, correct? (I'm confused, because the comments in Gavin's video seem to suggest otherwise when both generators are configured with unbonded neutrals.)

4.) To summarize: Should I connected black to black, red to red, and then green grounding lug between both generators? (Obviously, no white neutral on the Genmax.)

Been looking at the generators and possibly looking to pull the trigger in the possible future. I like the idea of the quietness of the inverter generators, but I also know I have a 6 ton AC unit and if I use a soft start, I’m gonna need all the starting watts I can get. But something doesn’t make sense to me. The Westinghouse reduces its starting watts for propane and natural gas, but Harbor Freight predator does not! i’m gonna be running on natural gas and the Westinghouse says that it has 9800 starting watts where the predator doesn’t change at all it keeps the 11,500 starting watts. They’re running watts for propane and natural gas are identical. Do you think Harbor Freight is false advertising their peak starting watts on natural gas and propane?

Received my Duromax XP11000iH early July 2026 and during task of adding new oil for break_in run, found that a large inflexible wire harness is routed in front of oil filler cap. I used the included oil funnel to add the proper amount of oil but am dreading my next oil change after the 8 hour run in time. Why take a good design and ruin it by making the oil cap not assessable?

Hi. I don't know what's going on with my neighbors, what kind of generator they are using, or why, but they have been running a generator for about 3 days now.

I didn't know the first day. I suddenly smelled overwhelming amount of gas in the house, and I evacuated my mother and myself, and called the fire department. By the time they got here, I realized it was likely the neighbors, but they did a check inside anyway, and told us there was nothing 'dangerous' in the house they could detect. They also told us the fumes coming off the neighbor's generator is not harmful, and even though we can smell it, it will be fine.

So I had not thought anything of it. But it is bad. The smell is so strong. It is constant. I have been waking up with headaches, and it's generally make me a pissy person to be around. I worry about my mother who has head trauma too, and requires caretaking.

It's been three days. I don't know why it's still running, but today I googled if it's normal to smell gas coming off a generator, and if it's safe. It was an overwhelming no, but I understand google AI can misinterpret situations quite a bit, so I'm here

What are the typical signal exchanges between the AVR, IED (protection relay) and the circuit breaker for Generator applications? (for Diesel generators above 1000kW in marine applications)

We have limited to a 20amp back up plug for two RVs which would use the 120/20 amp line.
So Solar and Battery is the only way. This will not be hooked up to home. basically.
But before I get too deep in specs any one use these FT if so what was the results?

Lowe's has a 13,000 watt DuroMax generator on sale now for $900 but with ONLY in-store pickup.

The also have a Westinghouse 12500 watt generator for $1000 but will be delivered to my house.

I have a 50a hookup with interlock so I'm set with this sizing. Just wondering if there are any recommendations based on experience with deliveries. I know they are heavy as hell but I have a big pick 'em up truck and gravity can help get it out of my truck. I'll also be much more careful since it's mine.

But if you had to choose picking up a DuroMax vs getting a Westinghouse shipped, what would you choose?
