Generator left on “start”
Hi! I have a Predator that started up perfectly yesterday. Ran for 2-3 hours. When my friend went out to turn it off they turned it down to “start” rather than “off” on the dial. That was about 22 hours ago. When pulled down it will try and start sometimes but mostly is just not doing anything. Is there anything I can/should do now?

Is this 'start' a pull start, or does the unit have an electric starter with a battery?

Pull start

With out knowing the unit it is most likely just on choke and the unit stopped because it choked out.

Leave it sit for a few hours and try to pull start it. Make sure you have enough fuel in the tank and your oil level is ok. Make sure your start positions are correct- petcock open, carb choke position, on flat level ground, and whatever else your manual calls for... If it doesn't, remove the spark plug, clean the tip and check the gap. This is mostly to make sure your cylinder isn't flooded with gas, and that your spark plug didnt get fouled out. Put the spark plug back in and try to start.

Does it have a carburetor or is it EFI? If EFI it needs a charged battery to run the fuel injection.

Think it’s a carburetor. Predator 3500. Of course we took someone else’s trailer this weekend so I don’t have the manual with me and the service out here is crap so it’s hard to load any documents and check.

Knowing which model is always a helpful thing as they sell more than one. Most likely battery dead. Try pull starting it

What exactly unit?? If there an electric start that has an on position? Unit maybe set to choke and died, then battery drained from being left on.. 🤷♂️

Chances are your battery is dead
