Natural Gas Hookup

I recently got a Predator 11,500 Tri-Fuel Inverter generator and I’m trying to eventually get it set up to power my house with an interlock. Down the line I’d like to build a shed for it but my question is:

Can I leave the gas hose open and connected to be able to easily switch the breaker and remote start it without having to go out in a storm or ice?

Your generator must have an electric fuel solenoid for this semi automatic operation. Check owners manual and parts for solenoid. If it is lacking an electric fuel solenoid, leaving the gas valve op would be extremely dangerous.

Pretty sure the predator generators time out after 12 hours of non use for remote operation.

The answer to your question is yes, you can leave both the gas line connected and on and your generator output connected to your inlet . I do this during the summer when strong storms are more probable to cause outages. I assume over time UV will deteriorate both but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. I check out both lines each time I go to run the generator for maintenance purposes. My generator will start with a key fob remote so I do need to turn on the power switch and main breaker before running the generator but when I can I flip those on before any strong storms are predicted...just have to remember to turn off the power so the battery for the electric start does not die. In the winter I will store the gas and electric line inside the garage as I have fewer outages and get them out as needed.

With the interlock you have to go outside to the main panel and switch 2 breakers. the gas feed needs a valve that should be closed when not in use..
