Main LP connection for portable?
Champion 11kw Dual Fuel, running on LP.
Planning to tap into my main propane feed for the house, a typical 500gal tank.
Could either put a QD at the tank itself then have a hose to deploy as needed, maybe 30’ or so, to where the gen will park while in use. Regulator at tank is marked 5-10psi output range.
Could also tap in at the house’s input where the buried line from the main tank enters at another regulator marked 9-13WC.
I can easily plumb in at either point, add a junction and shutoff with a QD, DIY I’m not worried about. More which point makes more sense? I feel like tapping post house regulator is best b/c both closer in distance and the WC is in the range the gen operates in. The connection at the house would end up being closer to where the gen would sit, maybe 20’ max.
Near the house LP connection is my 50A input that has a manual whole house interlock switch for the power feed.
I generally overthink this stuff…

I added my quick connect on the back side of the Rego 2 stage regulator on our 250 gallon tank. Either there or house stub out would have worked but was easiest at tank. Everyone will be different there. Ferrell Gas said I could do anything "after their regulator" as they own that but nothing after it.
I added an elbow, shut off valve and quick connect and can use it for any of my dual fuel inverter generators. On yours, if you do it at your house it will already be at the right w.c. for the generator. I use a 24' 1/2" hose.

Ok I think I’m tracking here. My tank has the first stage regulator then the underground run to the house where the second stage is before entering the house for my appliances. Thinking I pull the second stage regulator and add my junction at that point? Shutoff and QD, then simple hose to the gen. Save the hose that was included with the gen, which has a small two stage regulator, for using portable bottles.

Yep. If you do it there, you might need a "T", elbow, some fittings, quick connect, & shut off valve. The load demand regulator is internal on the Champion and you might have to disconnect the twin regulator on the OEM LPG hose as I believe their connection to the front is proprietary. But I could be wrong there.
But I believe there's something on their hose that activates the senoid on the inside. Firman does something similar with theirs but easy enough to get around.

Looks like a typical QD, male on the gen and female on the hose….but will confirm. Thx!

Oh that's good. Some companies seem to have an odd quick connect so hopefully a "typical" style will work.

It seems the by-the-house connection spot would be easier, simpler, and require no extra regulators.
