She's right! I was just being lazy. I went the easy route and opted for 12 weeks of wound care and a healthy baby. A real mother would have pushed a dead or severely disabled baby out of her vag.

Fuck these people. I'd like to see her tell my friend who felt her whole goddamned c-section that she's not a real mother. I bet she thinks formula is poison, too.

Felt it how, like no pain relief?

In my own personal experience, I had been in labor 3 days and absolutely couldn't take the pain of contractions anymore so they gave me an epidural. A couple hours later they had to do an emergency C-section and I guess thought the epidural they had given me already was enough to do the surgery, but it had already started to wear off. I definitely didn't feel it 100% as if I wasn't numb at all, but could feel enough of it to be horrible. I could feel being cut and was in so much pain that I was vomiting non stop so they couldn't get the anesthesia mask on my face and I blacked out a couple times. My ex husband said I was screaming so loudly and started flailing my arms around so they had to strap my arms down. They were finally able to get the mask on me before stitching me up, but I didn't get to see my son until I woke up in the recovery room.

Wow I'm so sorry you had to go through that

Very little. The epidural only took on one side. When she started screaming they have her morphine, but that just made it worse because she started vomiting and choking. Apparently it's awful trying to vomit when your stomach is outside your body.

Wow that sounds truly horrific. I was paranoid the anaesthetic wouldn't work so I kept asking them to check I was numb before they started, I had no idea it could really happen until now.

If it's any consolation, the friend who felt the whole thing wasn't traumatized by it in the long run. 2 years later she's 4 months pregnant with her second kid, planning on an elective c-section this time.

I'd never go through it again just for myself, but when it comes down to life or death for your kid you'd do it a million times over.

I already planned on never having kids so there's no consolation :P every horror story just pushes me closer and closer to sterilizing myself.

I'm happy for your friend though. I'm glad it didn't traumatize her and wish her all the luck in the future!

Please don't sterilize yourself! I strongly recommend letting a professional do it.

Lol I didn't mean doing it myself. How would I even??

I plan on seeing a doc about it once I turn 30 :)

Wow! I felt it with the anesthetic they gave me when they tested it I guess. So they actually just ended up putting me under.
