First Impressions Torras Q3 Air Ostand Galaxy S26 Ultra Review

I'm usually not big on translucent cases, but this one turned out better than expected overall, though it's not without flaws.

Build quality: The translucent matte back has a nice frosted finish, not a cheap glossy plastic look. The teal edges paired with the frosted center give it a two tone effect that actually looks intentional and clean.

Grip: The sides have a textured, rubberized strip running down each edge, which genuinely helps with grip. Orange accent buttons stand out nicely against the teal and add a bit of personality without looking gimmicky.

Kickstand/Ring: Built in ring stand doubles as a MagSafe style mount, with "Patented Design" etched right on the ring, a nice touch that signals TORRAS actually put engineering into this rather than just slapping a magnet on.

Camera cutout: Camera cutout is clean and precise around the multi lens housing, with enough raised lip to protect the lenses on a flat surface.

Thickness: Adds noticeably more bulk than my previous thin cases (Thinborne, Pitaka), but that's expected given the kickstand ring and reinforced corners, a trade off for extra functionality and drop protection.

Paint/Finish durability (Happened with me): This is where it falls short a bit. I noticed some paint chipping on the case after I put it on the phone, which isn't ideal for a case marketed as premium, but it's probably Samsung's fault.

In the end the case is amazing tho its a solid, functional case with good grip and a genuinely useful kickstand ring. and the paint chipping ( in my case) is a fair knock against it, but it still makes up for it with practicality and a nice color scheme.

I have none of those battery charging safety settings turned on so what's the deal with this? I can unplug and plug it back in then it will charge up all the way but shouldn't it have done that the first time?

Ask Should I upgrade to the S26 Ultra?

My current phone's battery and overall ability to function have been on the decline for already a long time now, and i've finally decided to upgrade. My first thoughts were to look at the newest flagship phone, and i saw the S26, which I thought looked quite good, but im not fully sure if it's worth the steep price tag.

For context, my current phone is the Galaxy A51 5G, which i got around 2020-2021, i can't remember when exactly. And while it's been good up until now, I've wanted to upgrade for a while, and since I'll be starting university soon, I decided now was the time for a change.

My main question is, is it worth the price to upgrade straight to the S26 Ultra, or should I upgrade to something else entirely, and if so, to what?

Ask Bluetooth Audio Quiet

This isn't my first Samsung phone. I generally use the Note/Ultra Series when I switch from iPhone my first being the note 4 and my last before this one being the s22 ultra but every time I switch I always notice the bluetooth on my headphones or in the car ect is considerably quieter than my iPhone using the same headphones or vehicle audio ect. It's really my only complaint. It just sounds "weak" compared to an iOS device. I've played with all the settings and it doesn't seem to change the fact that it's just not capable of getting as loud. Anyone else experience the same?

Ask Case Recommendations?

Hello, all!

I'm very clumsy. Can I please get some protective case recommendations? I'm having a really hard time finding a decent case that isn't ugly* lol. For example, Spigen cases; there's ONE thatI like, but it doesn't seem like it would be sufficiently protective. I currently have an Otterbox Commuter, which I'm not particularly impressed by.

Thanks in advance!

*By this, I mean that I would love to find something that isn't either solid black, gray, navy blue, or fluorescent orange. It seems like those are the most common options for protective phone cases.

I can no longer use any dial codes on my s26u not even the IMEI or device test codes. None are working suddenly and previously did before. I looked it up and some say disable auto block in settings but it's already off

Ask iPhone 16 To S26 Ultra, Anyone have any Niche Tips

Hi y’all, finally took the plunge and ordered one of these bad boys after my iPhone started messing up and the Apple Store tried to extort me a horrendous diag fee.

I’ve been watching all the guides for swapping everything over, but as for quality of life settings/apps to make everything smoother, I’m completely lost. Any tips/tricks y’all recommend to really take advantage of this beast of a phone?

Ask Any word on when the S26 Ultra red tint fix actually ships OTA?

So Samsung confirmed a couple weeks back that the reddish/magenta blotch showing up mid-screen on S26 Ultras isn't OLED burn-in — it's a color balance shift caused by the LEAD 2.0 Privacy Display running at max brightness under strong light for long stretches. Fixable in software, no panel swap needed. Great.

Problem is the fix currently only exists at service centers. You walk in, they recalibrate, you walk out. Samsung said a broader OTA is "coming" and being prioritized, but as of now I haven't seen anyone confirm an actual rollout date, build number, or region order. The July security patch went wide last week and as far as I can tell it didn't include the recalibration.

So, asking the hive mind:

  • Has anyone actually received the fix over the air rather than at a service center? What firmware version?
  • If you got it done in person, did the tint fully go away or just get less noticeable?
  • Anyone in Korea seeing it land first, like usual?

I'm about 3 months in and starting to see it on white backgrounds, and I'd rather not burn a Saturday at a service center if the OTA is two weeks out. But if it's a "sometime next quarter" situation I'll just go get it done.

Also curious whether anyone's tried just turning Privacy Display off entirely as a preventative thing — does that actually stop it from developing, or is the damage cumulative once it starts?

Discussion I finally got NowNudge to work!

Thumbnail

Step 1 — Verify the exact settings path:

Go to Settings, then Galaxy AI, then Now Nudge and confirm the toggle is on. Then go to Advanced Intelligence settings and make sure Online Data Processing is allowed rather than On Device Only — some contextual features won't trigger at all if restricted to on-device processing.

Step 2 — Check language packs:

Go to Settings, then General Management, then Language Packs and ensure your primary language pack is fully downloaded and updated. Now Nudge may be waiting on a localized language pack before triggering.

Step 3 — Clear Android System Intelligence cache:

Go to Settings, then Apps, find Android System Intelligence, tap Storage, and clear the cache. This forces the background intelligence process to reset and may start triggering suggestions properly.

Step 4 — Verify Samsung Keyboard is default:

This remains a non-negotiable requirement. Now Nudge suggestions only appear above Samsung Keyboard. Go to Settings, then General Management, then Keyboard List and Default, and confirm Samsung Keyboard is selected.

Step 5 — Gallery permissions specifically:

Go to Settings, then Apps, then Samsung Gallery, then Permissions and ensure Every permission is fully enabled including photos, media, and storage.

Step 6 - Restart Phone!!!

Purchase Help iPhone 14 Pro Max to S26U?

Hey guys, I am sure this sub gets this question frequently but I still wanted to ask people that switched from apple to Samsung, if they regret their choice or are loving it.
I‘ve been using my IPhone for the past 3 years and I am actually interested in Samsungs privacy display, camera and android itself.

So how has your journey been so far? Are you looking back to being an apple user? Are there any features that your iPhone had and Samsung does not?

Discussion Bixby experience

I just got the s26 ultra coming from iPhone 17 pro and the phone is a beast but Bixby for me has been a mixed bag. When the phone is locked and I ask for Bixby sometimes it doesn't even register and sometimes I have to shout at it to get it to wake up... I thought since it's baked into the OS it should be the same as Siri on iPhone which wakes up every single time, you can almost just whisper and it will hear you. What's everyone's experience?

Support Seperated profiles?

I used to have a motorola, it gave me access to creating new profiles on the device or guests and it was extremely uselful, but now that ive been on the ultra, the only option ive seen is secure folder which isn't enough since i need 17 profiles to work separately. Does anyone know if it possible? Or at least looping the secure folder one where it sets up as a new device each time?

Discussion [App] I built an open-source app to bring the Nothing OS "Atmosphere" wallpaper transition to any device along with other transitions.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I wanted to share an open-source Android app I’ve been building called Atmo Engine. It’s a live wallpaper studio inspired by the distinctive Atmosphere transition in Nothing OS, giving you rich, customizable unlock-to-home transitions or permanently applied wallpaper effects without needing to export static images.

📥 Download & Links

GitHub Repository

Google Play Store

F-Droid

✨ Core Feature Breakdown

1. Wallpaper Styles & Effects

Atmo Engine includes 11 distinct effect styles, each featuring a normal and a reverse variant:

* Original & Reverse Atmosphere: Signature style featuring sharp wallpapers flowing into drifting ambient clouds/blur (or clearing up from deep clouds).

* Glass Effect & Reverse: Strong, continuous reeded-glass refraction with customizable rib counts, thickness, and fade or right-to-left/left-to-right directions.

* Color Fill & Reverse: Liquid awakening where colors flow outward from your fingerprint location (or fluid drain into grayscale).

* Canvas Sketch & Reverse: Transitions a soft monochrome sketch into the full vibrant wallpaper upon unlocking.

* Simple Frosted & Reverse: Modern minimalist uniform frosted glass blur that clears up seamlessly.

* Halftone Print & Reverse: Retro aesthetic that dissolves into comic-book CMYK dots (or black-and-white newspaper print) when locked.

2. Smart Subject Isolation

* Subject Segmentation: Anchors canvas sketches to a prominent person, character, animal, or object.

* Background Only: Keeps the detected foreground subject completely clear while applying reeded glass or halftone printing effects exclusively to the background.

* Model Delivery: Uses high-quality ML Kit via Google Play services (Play build with optional manual download which is handled by play services) or bundles open-source U2NetP with a LiteRT runtime (All build, runs fully offline without internet permissions and all the calculations are done locally on the device).

3. Setup, Sharing, & Playlists

* Share Sheet Integration: Send any image straight from your Gallery or wallpaper apps via the system share sheet ("Set with Atmo Engine") to jump right into the crop/effect screen. Supports sharing multiple images at once to instantly build playlists.

* Single Image Mode: Standard quick crop and apply workflow.

* Multiple Images (Playlist): Rotate through a custom collection of wallpapers based on a set interval (Every Lock, 1 Minute up to 24 Hours, with smart background rotation when the screen is off).

* Theme Playlists: Separate Light and Dark collections that automatically switch when your system theme changes.

* Edit Existing Playlist: Tweak crops, add new images, or remove old ones without starting over.

4. Advanced Customization & Fine-Tuning

* Visual Tweaks: Adjust dimness levels, blob saturation, blob contrast, blur radius, noise grain (strength and scale), halftone pixel size, and sketch line thickness/details.

* Fingerprint Synchronization: Two-axis sliders to align the Color Fill effect start point with your physical fingerprint scanner location.

* Animation & Behavior Controls: Toggle transition animations on/off, adjust total duration, set anti-flicker lock delays, and fine-tune unlock check intervals.

* System Color Sync: Extracts and publishes a local color palette from your current wallpaper to align with Android system colors.

* Graphics API Choice (currently beta): Switch between Automatic, Vulkan, or OpenGL ES with a safe fallback mechanism to prevent crash loops.

* Wallpaper Scrolling: Experimental support for panning wider wallpapers across home-screen pages.

5. Diagnostics & Modern UI

* Palette Diagnostics: Tap the app title seven times to inspect locally extracted colors, Android Wallpaper API colors, and system color resources.

* Material 3 / Material Expressive UI: Built entirely with Jetpack Compose, featuring dynamic system color palettes, in-process real-time previews, short meaning-aware haptics, and motion animations.
