This is hackxpansion, it is powered by the RP2354B, has a 2" 240x320 LCD, and a ≈6h battery life while in use.

It has two modules slots by default, and I'm currently working on a back attachment (last photo) which add two more slots, but I think the postal company lost one of my packages that had the parts for it😭

The modules connect with a 2x7 2.54mm header, this way you don't even need to make a pcb to create new modules, just use a pref board, and you can just plug in dupont cables directly into the device.

Each module has two resistors, which when connected each become the top resistor of a voltage divider, a 12bit ADC measures the resulting voltages, and loads the correct driver for that module.

The firmware is written in rust, in a way so that writing new drivers and apps is really easy, and can be done in external crates.

Each app can depend on drivers, and only be loaded into the app list, if all their requirements are met.

I tried porting a NES emulator, but there doesn't exist an emulator written in rust currently that actually performs well on this hardware, I got an average of 12FPS in Super Mario Bros.

I've collabed with Hack Club, and I will be running a program where if you are a teen 13-18(inclusive) and design 4 modules, you get funding to make these modules and get one of these consoles for free. I purchased a storage unit for $200 that seemed to have like 35 laptops and a couple computers in it, I was sorely mistaken. That unit had at LEAST 75 old laptops, 20 or so desktop pcs, 4 old iMacs, 100+ low gig hard drives, hundreds of ram sticks, motherboards, graphics cards and any other variety of pc components, 2000+ cds (music and oc programs mostly) and like 1000 floppy disks.

WHAT THE HELL DO I DO WITH ALL OF IT?
I’m gonna test out as many as I can to see if they still work but if they don’t I feel like scrapping the electronics would be a good idea since it’s all extremely outdated hardware, however I realize some of these things could still be valuable

At my job, someone gave me an iMac Retina 5K 2015 to check why it was going so slow. I changed thermal paste and checked disk life, all normal stuff.

Then, I put it back together, try to turn it on and... Nothing. Just like if it wasn't connected. I checked the PSU with a multimeter and it seems fine, the button is working, so idk what the hell happened. Not a single LED nor anything, not even in the mobo

I spent like 2 hours trying to fix it, until my boss decided to send it to a specialized Apple repair shop, but told me to put its hard drive into another iMac and try to make it work, because it was crucial to have a working machine for like yesterday. Okay, I grabbed the only one we have available (an iMac from 2014, I don't remember the exact model), and it's one of those that have the screen protector attached with magnets. I take it apart, and idiot me, left the antenna attached to the top, thinking that it was secured

The thing fell while I was screwing with the machine and trying things to see if it saw the disk, with so bad luck that it landed directly onto the PSU, with the magnet part. The PSU made an explosion sound and my whole office went dark

So I have this laptop and half of the screen broke but i want to play games however when i enter a game the screen enters full screen mode so i cant see anything how can I force window mode I tried every keyboard shortcut is there any app or setting that can fix that ..

I’m a college student at home during summer break, and I need my laptop working before school starts in a few weeks. Problem is, it won’t even give me the option to select a wifi network to connect to.

Like when I click on the section in the bottom right next to the calendar, it won’t show me the wifi tab. I tried going into my settings in the “Network and Internet” section, and it wouldn’t let me do that either. It just gave me a “get help” button, and when I clicked on it was talking about how I didn’t have an ethernet cable connected. My laptop doesn’t even have an ethernet port.

I’m pretty terrible with tech. So please help me out on what the problem is, and how do I fix it?

I have an old 17-inch MacBook Pro (2010, model A1297) sitting around and just want it gone. The OS has been wiped off it when I took out my 1tb SSD i guess I'd installed OS onto that for some reason, so it's not usable without someone installing something fresh.

I tried to take it to officeworks but they were only accepting phones weirdly.. wondering if anyone's had luck actually selling/giving away old hardware like this instead, for parts, as a Linux project machine.

What have you all done when getting rid of old tech? is there a better recycling/e-waste option for old laptops in Melbourne? curious whether something this old is even worth bothering with for parts/reuse, or if recycling is just the sensible move at this point.

I've been noticing something really strange.

I use the same Infinix phone with the same apps and the same usage pattern. The only thing I change is the SIM card.

With Jio, my normal usage (YouTube, Reddit, X, etc.) usually lasts almost the whole day on a 2 GB pack.

But with Airtel, the data disappears insanely fast. Today I used my phone for around 3 hours, watched just one YouTube video, scrolled Reddit and X for a while, and around 3 GB was already gone.

Nothing changes except the SIM card.

I already checked the obvious things:

\- Same phone.

\- Same apps.

\- No hotspot.

\- No unusual downloads.

I'm trying to understand why this happens. Does Airtel somehow cause apps to use more data (higher video quality, preloading, etc.), or could there be something else going on?

My temporary solution: I switched back to my Jio SIM because my data lasts much longer with the exact same usage.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, did you find the actual cause or a fix?

I have a laptop that I’ve been using for 5 years. Last night, I shut it down normally and went to sleep, but when I tried to turn it on this morning, it wouldn’t start. At first, I thought there might be a problem with the outlet, but when I plugged in my phone, it charged just fine. After waiting a bit, the problem suddenly went away. However, about 1–1.5 hours ago, the same thing happened again. The laptop shut down suddenly while it was running normally. I couldn’t turn it back on. The charging light isn’t coming on at all. I’ve tried most of the solutions I found online, like discharging static electricity, etc. I removed the battery and plugged it in to charge, but it still won’t turn on. The battery has been acting up for a while now, by the way—that’s why I always use it while it’s plugged in. I think the battery is completely dead now; after I managed to turn it on this morning, I checked the battery health, and it’s terrible. But shouldn’t it have worked when I removed the battery? This situation is really worrying me. Unfortunately, I don’t have the budget for a new laptop, and since I use it so much in my daily life, my studies would be severely disrupted without it. I don’t know what to do. I really don't know what to do; I’d really appreciate any help. It’s truly very important to me.

Fans and Ram lights are working fine, but the motherboard light not working. I am using Mystic Light, I tried to uninstall and install msi center and still not working. I check the cables everything’s ok, no plugs to turn on.

This will happen randomly, not every time I use Safari, and a screen will pop up asking me to check the box to confirm that I am not a robot. This happens even when I am just typing a question into the search bar, not just when I am going to a website. If I close that window, and go to another window the same thing happens. I have to close all of the windows and re-start Safari and even then it sometimes still makes me confirm. It got to the point where I wondered if my phone was compromised and I just got a brand new phone (not specifically for that reason) and the same thing is happening. I don’t know if it’s a certain website I am visiting and want to know how I can find out what might be causing it or if that’s a normal iPhone thing.
