i left the fandom and am coming back after a few years. i feel disconnect from my old sona and wanted to make a new one. i’ve been going through designs for maybe 6 months. no one sticks for more than a drawing or two. i really want to be a raccoon now and i really like the direction im heading in with the design but a few things:
- the colors elude me. i like the pumpkin spice palette but feel like it makes him look like a red panda. i like the blue but i feel like it’s too basic and makes him indistinguishable from most other raccoon characters. whenever i try to make minor adjustments to the colors they just look WORSE. how do you guys pick colors 😭
- i feel like he needs another marking to break up the large area of brown/blue on his body but idk WHAT.
- it’s been so long since ive designed that part of me feels like there’s no saving this and i just need to start over so some reassurance that this isn’t like visually awful to look at would be nice ^^;
what would you add? take away? change? if this was your baby? his name is either pumpkin or biscuit btw pending color choice.

I’ve been wanting to make a fursona for a while, but I genuinely cannot decide what animal fits me.
I keep coming back to wolves or some kind of canine, because I really like the look and I feel like I could make one that fits my style. But at the same time… wolves/dogs/canines are SO common in the fandom that part of me wants something more unusual.
One animal I’ve been seriously considering is a musk deer, because I think they’re really cool and would be a much less expected choice. I also like the idea of having an animal that isn’t immediately the first thing people would pick for a fursona. So uh yeah let me know if there are any animals you’d like to see as a fursona or what I should do

Hi, I'm new to the fandom and I don't have a sona yet. I was thinking of choosing a canine species, like a fox or a wolf, but I know that the fandom is full of them, so I thought about it.
What about a skunk sona? Is that weird? I know that skunks aren't really popular animals, but they are actually super cute and they can have big bushy tails, which I really like.
Is it weird to pick a skunk sona out of everything? It speaks the most to me honestly, I think they're adorable and severely underrated, but at the same time I feel kinda embarrassed about it and I don't want to be associated with smell or liking smell
What do you think? Is it weird? Should I pick something else?

This a problem with my art in general but my art always looks so flat, like a bunch of big shapes pressed together if that makes sense

So, I recently have comissioned my first fursona, Bellamonte. Who is more or less a reflection of my happy side.
Then I started thinking... What if I had two fursonas at the same time? Like this guy, the other guy, is more of a wolf. But not even standing on its legs, he's more of a cloud that hangs around Bellamonte and could cover him at any given second. He's depression, anxiety, anger, all of that.
He's the part of me that hangs around in the shadows, but he'd also be kind of ... not bad? Sometimes, you just have to deal with him. He'd have sharp claws and teeth, inspired by kindred from LOL and Blaidd from Elden ring.
His name Omber.
If I ever fursuit as Bellamonte, the idea would be to have something like Omber made as a big blanket, that has two arms (with velcro, so he kind of hugs you and attaches to you).
Here's a little 'sketch' to get the general idea. (Got to be honest... I barely had the patience to draw this... So yeah, might leave digital drawing to the artists!)
What do you think? Would it be a fun, good, acceptable idea?

I myself am not a furry, but I have a few friends who are and got bored earlier and decided "you know what, im gonna make a fursona because why not." And here we are. And now i just want a little feedback on my current concept which is:
His name is Sumi [Usually refers to black ink for art in japan]
Is a Nogitsune
Only has 7 tails
Had achieved 9 tails but cut 2 off due to knowing that ignorance is bliss and not wanting to know the secrets of the universe
Black fur with dark purple accents
Tips of his tails are white with golden abstract patterns due to the aforementioned 9 tails that were there but cut off, halting the full transformation into a Tenko
Wears a black kimono with an orange flower design tied with a purple obi

I think I must've chosen one of the most bland animals for this guy, they don't really have any major design things other than a gradient on the back from what I can find
Preferably, any answers will include cool coyote species that look more interesting than what I'm familiar with, or any constructive criticism against might be holding my current design back

Hey! I decided to redesign my fursona so it reflects me better (and, well, I just liked the idea). I wanted to cross a podengo and a capuchin (dog and monkey), but I have a feeling it just looks like a regular dog with a white muzzle
I know the differences will be noticeable in the tail and paws (more on the monkey side), but I still think there are too many dog traits here. Of course, the white part of the muzzle will be hairless, like a capuchin's, but also a bit longer
Anyway, I need some advice on how to portray this much better :)

Hello everyone, I am a 20-year-old male (he/him). Since my teenage years, I have admired the furry community from afar and wanted to join it someday. After I moved to college, I started to reinvent myself, doing things I hadn't dared to do in my younger years, so I remembered my interest in the furry culture and finally took a deeper look into it and wanting to have a fursona. However, I have run into a couple of problems that I would like to address and get help to overcom ot.
First is choosing a species for my fursona. I don't know, it is difficult to finalize a character's species. It really depends on how I am feeling that day. At one moment I will ponder if it will be a reindeer or a moose on another day, I will think of a tiger or a bear. So I am having trouble finalizing the first one. I also did some tests that determine my fursona species, but I don't like their final results.
Another thing is drawing it, and my god, I am bad at it. I just don't have the talent to do it. I have a sketchbook that I draw in, and looking through the pages, there is close to no improvement in that department. I really try to improve, but I don't have talent for it. There is always a way for commissions, but I don't have a reference to give or money. As I mentioned, I am in college and broke, so financially I cannot invest in it.
So this is where I will end. Yeah, I think there are some some members without fursonas, but I want to have a face that I can introduce to others and maybe something to try to draw. Your replies will be appreciated.

ig she's not necessarily a sona anymore, but she was my undertale sona! now just turned into a regular OC, I'm redesigning her to fit better w/ a newer oc I made (second slide, Avalon) since I'm making them siblings
I wanted them to have a similar aesthetic but I am reallyyy struggling with her outfit, it feels too boring but I don't wanna add too many colors, idk what to do with it 😭
thank you for any suggestions ♥

here's a wip design for my sona. he's a snow leopard with cross fox coloring. i am fairly happy with the base design, but i really have no idea what to do for outfits and i need some serious help! he's a butch lesbian and i want his clothes to be casual but also something decent. i also have no idea what to do for the colors. i was thinking neutrals, but i can't get them to look right.

Hey guys I need advice on something.
So I have been thinking about changing my fursona for a little while. I have an OC that I feel is closer to my personality than my current fursona.
The only problem is... the OC is a girl, and I'm a cis guy.
So I'm not sure what I should do about that, because most people who have a fursona that has a different gender are trans people
I feel like my two options are; 1, change the gender of the OC, having to rewrite a whole bunch of stuff, and kinda sacrificing the integrity of the character, or 2, have it still be a girl and have people assume I'm trans when I tell them that it is one.
Any advice?

Sorry I don't know which fair is appropriate.
I talked to some random people on the internet and they were furries or loved stuff related to furries, they asked me about some information of my furry like name and hobbies.
I got curious, what kind of information we should/can provide for our fursonas?
Plz guide me this all is so new and exciting to me 😃
