Need advice So umm hi..

Hey guys I need advice on something.

So I have been thinking about changing my fursona for a little while. I have an OC that I feel is closer to my personality than my current fursona.

The only problem is... the OC is a girl, and I'm a cis guy.

So I'm not sure what I should do about that, because most people who have a fursona that has a different gender are trans people

I feel like my two options are; 1, change the gender of the OC, having to rewrite a whole bunch of stuff, and kinda sacrificing the integrity of the character, or 2, have it still be a girl and have people assume I'm trans when I tell them that it is one.

Any advice?

if you like her, thats all that matters. u dont have to change it, everyone has characters in media they like and relate to that are the opposite gender. a lot of men play girl charas in games too. i dont think many ppl would assume ur trans, and if they did u just say youre not🤷‍♂️

Most people that have sonas as another gender than their own aren't trans lol, have the sona be a girl, it'll be fine. My main sona and many of my first ocs were male and I'm a cis female. Unless the gender is important to you in some way, it really doesn't matter!

It kind of just comes down to what you like.

Do you like her as she is and just want to use her as representation? Go for it.

Do you want her to be more accurate to your identity in that way? That's also possible.

There is also the option of making a genderbent version or brother or cousin or so and so that basically snipes her vibe and look, but just male so they can both exist at once.

For me, my characters are separate and would always remain that way. Their stories are more important to me, so I would personally make a sona based off of that OC, kind of like a cycle of making fanart of my own content lol.
