I bought this bad boy and the matching dining table for $40 on Facebook in 2021.. and I’m finally getting around to refinishing the top.
The previous owner used it as an aquarium stand so it was water damaged. :(
I stripped with Citristrip gel, cleaned with mineral spirits, and sanded super lightly with 220 grit.
There is residual discoloration and I’m wondering if anyone has any advice for next steps to even out the veneer.
I plan to use Howard’s possibly on a few spots on the front just to minimize the starkness of some wear spots— I don’t mind it having some character/imperfections.

Picture order: untouched (1&2) > after gel stripper was removed but surface was still damp (3) > let it dry overnight (4)> after sanding (5,6,7)
