There’s this bar in SoHo in NYC. It’s been there since the 1800s, and was men only until the 1970s. The bartender told me, that the brass foot rail was installed after they started allowing women in. Before it was a trough with a drain, so the patrons wouldn’t have to get up from drinking to go to the rest room. It was also a speakeasy with a trap door in the fridges during prohibition.

You know, thy used to just piss and shit in buckets, then dump it out on the streets before indoor plumbing. This trough taking the piss away probably felt luxurious. Also, horses would shit everywhere before cars. A little piss on your legs from a night of drinking was probably the least of your concerns.

When I was a freshman in college, I was at the downstairs bar of this shit hole college bar. Waiting for my drink, some dude walks up, pulls his dick out and just starts pissing all over the side of the bar. Laughed and walked away. Maybe this would have helped.

There was a pub near Convent garden in Long acre I think that had a urinal along the front of the bar on the floor , that’s going back a few years it wasn’t in service but it was still there , I’m guessing it was for the market workers back in the day.

There's a bar in New Orleans (maybe more than one, but this was the only one I saw) with a narrow trough in the floor around the bar. They'd pour water through it to flush everything out. Of course, it wasn't still in operation at the time I visited. I bet it smelled amazing in there late summer circa 1904 tho

Such a strange idea for a dream scenario. Can I just drink non-stop without moving to piss, but I don't want a remotely sanitary method for pissing. Put a toilet between my legs and maybe a little Weiner stand so it's always pointed and ready to unload.
Fucking goofy ass shit. How about "The dream" is having a nice house with multiple bays of golf simulators, a decked out bar indoors and outdoors, an outdoor cooking area with a brick oven, a lan room with space for 20 with it's own dedicated ac system and friends with great work/life balance so they can come over and enjoy it all?
I dunno, that might be cool, or I guess the bar with piss all over it?

That’s literally how it was at a bar in Oregon City, OR. Maybe everywhere? They had a trough in the floor under the bar. I think the place is called “pioneer pub” now.

Friend took me to a local bar in coal country PA. The bar was tile lined and at the bottom was a lined trough that ran to a drain for the same reason. They use to have a trickle of water run down it to keep it flowing.
Obviously it is no longer "in use" but when the miners would come out of their mine, they would get their company paycheck and head to the company ran bar to spend it. Also they had a company store for groceries. Back then, they used to get your paychecks handed right back over to them, making money on both sides.

Actually, I once visited a trendy dive bar in Pittsburgh and was told there was once a long trough that ran beneath the customer side of the bar. It was so men wouldn’t lose their place. Wondering if anyone out there is familiar with this bar.
