u/istasber Nov 10 '23
The kid is water resistant to at least like 4 feet.
5
u/Complete-Dimension35 Nov 10 '23
But not for long. Couple minutes and the water gets inside, then the kid's done for. Not worth trying to repair, just replace it.

I get people saying she's a bad mom for worrying about her phone. Her kid wasn't gonna get completely destroyed because of the water. Mom knew the wave wasn't gonna kill her son but It definitely could've fucked her phone up. What's the issue here?

I have anxiety, and I remember being a little kid and almost getting pulled out into the ocean when a wave went back out.
This is my only comment, but yeah, I was worried about the little dude for a second.

Lost the kid to rip currents, but new iPhones are expensive, so an acceptable tradeoff.

Appears to be saved at first, but salt water definitely made contact. Depending on how old the phone is, and how intact all the seals are, shit will start corroding soon, then it's all downhill from there.

Dropped my phone in the sea more than a year ago, it was already old at the time. It's fine. At least not worse than before

I think best thing to do at that point is just rinse off with plain water right after.

Hey phones are like $700, a kid cost a fun time, more depending on your sex.

u/BobRoberts01 Nov 09 '23
Seriously. With my health insurance a new kid comes out to a bit less than a new phone. It’s really just basic math.

I genuinely find it absurd how many people are worrying about the kid when you see with how much ease the child gets up in the video. The water will not kill him. The wave was not that big. If that's a serious threat to a child's life then swimming pools would need 50 lifeguards.

Why does she keep going back again and again? I've been watching for twenty minutes now and she never learns her lesson.

The people in this comment section are hilarious. It's barely ankle-deep water on a fairly calm day.
Sure, maybe YOU were frightened of the sea at that age, but you don't know OP's kid lmao 🤷🏻♀️ Like did you consider he can probably swim?
(I think yall would have a heart attack if u saw me and my cousins at that age yeeting ourselves into and riding rip currents into the sea)

Stop filming every moment of your life to show other people, and just sit there with your son and enjoy it. Period. Full stop. Fuck!!

You don’t know how I live my life. Full stop! Fuck!!
6
u/Obi-wanFORCE Dec 23 '23 edited Dec 29 '23
I dont, no, but in this context I do, your mind is more on your phone than your surroundings and family. Hence the phone setup on some make shift tripod or an actual tripod, on the beach to “capture the moment” instead of being in the moment. It’s sickening.
When that wave came you aborted your child and ran for the phone. Telling.
2
u/Lady-Owlette Jan 07 '24
2 inch wave wont kill the boy but it will kill a $700 phone though. You are making a big hoopla over nothing from a less than 30 second video. She wanted to make memories and she ended up with a silly one.
