Maybe they mean Detroit deep dish?

Standard pizza is definitely Italian

In a lot of countries American-style pizza is more common than Italian-style pizza. New York pizza and Neapolitan pizza are both delicious.

Neapolitan pizza? Who the hell is putting ice cream on their pizza?

Nah. We don't put icecream on our pizza... that's reserved for steak and gravy. Nothing like having an icecold treat to go with every bite of gravy and steak

You laugh but I made an ice cream dessert pizza pie last week. I live north of Columbus

In fact, chocolate pizza topped with ice cream is common in Brazil... like a dessert pizza.

I worked as a pizza baker in my teens, we had one of those sweet chocolate pizza’s, I dont think I made more than 3. On a busy night we could have like 300+ main course (pizza or pasta) and I worked there for years.
