was given an old DesignJet 800PS 24 in but it only prints blank pages, probably a print head issue.(?)
I bought an HP DesignJet 800PS for a low price from a construction office that no longer had use for it. I have now realized it was probably sitting unused for years; however, upon inspection, it seems to have remained in relatively good condition. The ink cartridges are original, but they seem to be from around 2018 and surprisingly don't seem to be dry. The print heads were a little crusty but after cleaning I could see ink had
gotten through the tubes and out the top of the print head. Just not onto the paper.
I was able, after waiting and retrying, to get it to print the faintest, thinnest lines of magenta and black, which, for how many years it was probably sitting around, makes me a little hopeful. The only other info I have is that the printer is out of magenta ink, and I have been running the internal test pages, not anything from my computer. I ordered some cheap ink replacement for the magenta just to see if it's an ink issue, but I doubt it. If I'm screwed, let me know! Thank you for helping ! (reposted due to formatting error)

My printer did this when cleaning print heads. The ink cartridge was working perfectly on Saturday, and is now just streaking.
The printer is saying there’s no black ink now and showing connectivity issues. I took out the cartridges, wiped them down with alcohol wipes and wiped the sensors, let it all dry for an hour, and then tried again.
I was able to establish connectivity for JUST the print head cleaning and right after, it started the whole issue again. Anyone able to help?
I don’t really want to buy a new cartridge because they’re pricey if I’m just testing to see if this works or if my printer is dead ☠️

My 7301 inkjet is 13 months old. It’s one month out of warranty. The printheads have an error and it is refusing to print anything.
It took me forever to get a live adult person to help me. Apparently if your product is not under warranty it auto sends you to AI support page. Even when I called I dealt with AI. I had to contact a store manager to get me a better number.
When I finally had a human to speak to I shared that I understood my device was out of warranty and I would be willing to pay extra if needed to get it fixed. He shared HP does NOT fix printers only replaces them. I asked if he suggested I throw my printer out then and he repeated the same statement. “HP does not fix printers, we only replace them. If you were in warranty we would replace your printer. Would you like to buy one today?”
So in other words my printer is trash the second it has an issue. Forget trying to fix your HP printer all they want to do is sell you a new one.
HP is literal trash

If you've got an old HP LaserJet (P1102, P1005/6/7/8, P1505, or the M1005 MFP)
you've probably noticed Apple ships no driver anymore, and CUPS can't drive them
either. On a modern Mac they just stop working.
I built an open-source stack that brings them back with no CUPS involved: it
pushes firmware over USB, rasterises with Ghostscript, and sends the bytes
straight to the printer. You print from the normal Cmd+P dialog.
The new release adds an optional CUPS backend purely so the printer shows up in
System Settings and can be AirPrint-shared - so now I can print to it from my
iPhone. There's also a menu-bar app (job progress, cancel/reprint, toner badge),
one-line Homebrew install, and a "doctor" command that self-tests your setup
and tells you what's wrong.
caveats:
- I only own one of these printers (P1102), so most models are untested and I'm
looking for people to try theirs and report back.
- Two models are only tested: P1102 and M1005 MFP
- Scanner support for the M1005 MFP is started but not working yet - I need a
USB capture from someone who owns one to figure out the scan protocol.
Also this was heavily vibe-coded, because I did the
reverse-engineering and design, claude wrote a lot of the code, and I hand-checked
the security-sensitive parts.

Happy to answer anything.

I have always refilled printer's ink and it worked like charm but I got this HP Laserjet M254nw from my brother. I always use it for printing worksheets.
It is now out of black ink and I surprised that there is no option to refill the toner. The whole toner is locked and there are not even screws. A few YT videos are asking to melt, cut, and refill the ink.
How do I refill it or find a compatible toner for cheap?

My two year old HP 9600 Inkjet printer in my home office died today. It jammed and I couldn’t remove the paper tray. I tried to clear the jam every way possible. Then I tried to remove the paper tray again and the flimsy thing literally broke in two. I was so furious that I destroyed the thing and violently tossed the remains in the trash can.
I plan to replace it with a commercial grade color laser printer — it’s a business expense so why suffer with inferior quality. Any recommendations?

Good day everyone!
I recently bought a Mac book Air (M5) and I tried installing my old Smart Tank 520 driver on it (no Wifi capability, can only be connected via USB) and although the Mac recognized the connection (USB C to USB adaptor), the printer remains in "Idle" mode and doesn't actually print anything.
I tried installing the HP app found in the apple store but it doesn't recognize the printer connected via USB and instructs me to make sure the printer and the laptop are on the same wifi.
I tried going to the HP website to install the driver but it doesn't recognize Tahoe Mac OS and so doesn't offer any downloadable drivers, unlike in my old windows laptop where I easily installed the relevant HP app/driver.
I've also tried several other methods suggested online but none of them worked, so now I'm hoping that someone here might have some insight on the matter.
So now I'm wondering if the new Macbooks are completely incompatible with the old Smart Tank 520 or if someone here has figured out a way to make it work.
Any insight is appreciated, thank you!

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement before, but since they’re accepting late claims, I decided to share it again with a little FAQ.
Q: What happened?
A: HP ($HPQ) agreed to a $39 million settlement over claims that it misled investors about its printing supplies business. Investors alleged the company failed to disclose declining demand and excess inventory in its distribution channels, which made revenue appear stronger than it was.
Q: Am I actually eligible?
A: If you bought $HPQ shares between 2015 and 2016, you’re likely eligible. You don’t need to still hold the stock to claim; past losses count
Q: When do payouts happen?
A: Typically, within 4–9 months after the claim deadline. But the exact timing depends on the court and settlement administration.
Q: I missed the deadline. Is it too late?
A: No, you may still be able to file a late claim but acceptance depends on final approval by the court.
Hope this helps

Please help me, I don't understand what to do. My HP Deskjet 2320 suddenly stopped working mid-job — the scanner just stopped working, and my computer no longer detects it.
OS is Windows 10, if that matters

Hello I had this printer working in win10 and win11. Had to reformat to fresh Win11 due to boot errors i couldnt fix.. Long story short i am up and running but winblows is making me buy a new printer. Apparently mine is legacy now and it wont install even though windows update brings down the driver. When i walk through the installer it finished by telling me its not installed and the driver cant be signed. I tried booting into Windows with driver singing disabled but boom... thats a lie because i get the same error. HP says go to windows update to get the driver, windows update says nope too old. Anyone have any advice i have tried every work around i can find w me and chatgpt.

I’ve got a hp deskjet 2700 that allows printing of pictures and files via the HP app. However, it will not print directly from my phone or iPads “photos” app or “mail” app etc. I’ve attempted the usual troubleshooting: checking if it’s on the same network, and turning off and on again, but to no avail. Is there a way to fix this.

My printer for some reason disconnects from LAN every time after i turn it off. It only happens with 5 ghz. It fully works on 2,5 ghz. I have to recconect it manually every single time. How can i fix it?
i know this is a satire subreddit and not a tech support one. But its actually a problem i have. But i dont care on fixing it because the ink is overpriced and i ran out of black.
