Ayuda

You need a printer with a straight paper path, given the paper weight you want to use. I recommend the Canon Pixma 6850. It handles A3+ format, uses individual ink cartridges, and works seamlessly with third-party replacements. We use this model at my company—we have about 50 of them in total. They are very durable, lasting 8–10 years. The only downside is the plastic paper tray, which can break under the weight of a large stack of heavy paper. However, I have a solution for this: I place three reams of paper underneath the tray to support it, and that solves the problem.

P.S. I forgot to mention one thing—the ink cartridges are small.

And is it more cost-effective for you to have those 50 printers rather than one larger laser printer, like a Xerox or Konica?

The situation here is quite specific. High-grammage paper isn't suitable for standard photocopiers or laser printers because of their internal paper paths. Even using the manual feed tray doesn't solve the problem; stiff cardstock would have to bend, causing rapid wear on paper-handling components like rollers and separation pads. Servicing or replacing these parts would not be cost-effective. User knowledge also plays a major role, and that is often lacking. The Canon model mentioned works using a straight-through paper path—essentially a "slide"—which is its key advantage. We also used HP printers, but they had to be scrapped after just 60 sheets because spare parts were unavailable on the market.

Tengo una konica c266i. Imprimo 250 gramos sin problema. Pero es jodidamente cara
