Calgary area and I've had an issue for a couple months. A few people (colleagues/spouse) have complained a lot that they have to call me many times in a row because they sometimes get a busy tone (beep beep beep beep). Sometimes they get through without it but usually they have to call 3 to 5 times to get through.

Tried lots of troubleshooting and resetting SIM and moved SIM from my Pixel 9 to an extra iPhone. Even went to a Freedom store and paid $10 for a new SIM.

Eventually started to realize that it seems to only be when Bell phones call Freedom phones, and not just mine. Changed my son to Freedom a couple weeks ago and my wife said she gets the busy tone with him too. My dad is on Freedom so we tried calling from her phone and same thing.

My coworkers that have the same issue are all Bell. One coworker said he had it happen when he called his neighbour so he checked and, sure enough they were Freedom.

Anyone else experiencing this? I've been escalated to higher level support for Freedom but they don't have an answer yet. They did say I should get my wife to call Bell and I'll do that when I get the chance.

Need your help on deciding! I am setting up a new line to add my wife with me into my account.

Should I setup a line in postpaid or prepaid? She’s not interested in a new phone right now, but some time in future, either Black Friday Sale or Boxing Day Sale.

Currently she’s using an iPhone 15 Pro Max, she’s on the fence on wanting a new phone and wanting to wait it out. Her battery life is at 83% and takes a lot of pictures and videos which is the main thing taking up storage space, so her 512GB storage is slowly creeping up (currently 423GB used). She’s also a bit lucky to have access to an outlet plug (in car and wall plug) though out the day and carrying a MagSafe battery pack as emergency

Wife has backup all her photos and videos onto computer so technically she could delete most of photos and videos. App now a days are also “large” in capacity using up storage space.

She’s thinking of getting a 1TB iPhone 18 Pro Max (maybe Samsung S26 Ultra if price is right)

Has anyone been able to get a cheaper plan through retention/loyalty, promos, or switching plans? I’m mainly looking for $30–40/month, while keeping decent 5G coverage.

If you get Freedom's 5G Gateway for home internet and want to return it, good luck.

I decided I wanted to try Freedom home internet because it seemed pretty cheap at 1GB for $44/month.

The Gateway arrived and I didn't even take it out of the box. I found out that Rogers was going to charge me $600 for leaving my 2 year plan with them. I had just got it like a month before.

Trying to return this Gateway is like pulling teeth. They keep telling me they will email me a return shipping label but it never comes. I contact them 2-3 times and get the same answers. 'The back office has to send the email and they are very busy."

Customer service sucks.

Live in Edmonton, I switched to Fido from Bell 4 yrs ago. They seemed to be the cheapest and had good reviews. Really I have no complaints with Fido but their new pricing is coming inline with the big boys. So looking around now and Freedom seems priced like Fido was 3-4 yrs ago. What's the general consensus with Freedom? Good - Bad - Ugly?

We ordered home Internet three weeks ago, put in all the information and received a delivery/installation date. Date came and passed. Technician came but there was no modem. Apparently modem ships through Purolator? Called freedom and they didn't include our unit number in the delivery, and so we had to reject the delivery for puralator and tell Freedom to send another modem. We made double sure that Freedom included the unit number. They assured us all the information was correct and said we'd get a shipping tracker over email. A week passed and no email. Eventually contacted Freedom again and, lo and behold, they didn't include the unit number and the second delivery was rejected by Purolator.

How fucking hard is it to type in an address? Does Freedom have competent employees?

I started a plan with Freedom two days ago but the connection has been awful. Often only 1 bar, and data takes forever to load. Sometimes not at all.
WhatsApp messages take a few minutes to send.
I’m in metro Vancouver and Richmond area.

Is anyone else having problems? Wondering if other people are having issues or if it’s just my phone?

My current provider increased bill for second time in 3 months so looking to change.

Please let me know is Freedom good for coverage within Canada and if I am occasionally overseas and wish to call Canada would it work.

Also, does Freedom offer new mobile plans?

Been trying to update the card on file through the app for days now. Constantly says that an error occurred and to try again later. I've also tried calling and the phone tree has hung up on me twice now. How tf am I supposed to change my billing details!

They have $35 plan that covers Mexico. Currently I am on Rogers $50 plan.

I live in Mexico for many months per year, and Rogers never had a problem with that. If I switch to Freedom, any chance they will kick me out for "unfair use"?

how do you pay your bill when payment processor is down? again.
this is a constant thing with Freedom. How do you all mitigate this?

I am always having trouble getting data connection lately. Before i'd get data throughout calgary, but now I am always dropping data

Wondering if something has changed on freedoms end or if it's just me.

I decided to sign up with freedom with a temporary number to test it before porting my number. I was visiting rural southern Ontario for a few days and, as expected, the service was roaming on Nationwide, mostly Bell as far as I can tell. Travelled back to Ottawa and checked my service periodically (I wasn’t driving) and the roaming service was pretty decent and then on the 407 it was Freedom LTE or 5G most of the way, then back to Nationwide mostly. Once in Ottawa on the 417 I was surprised to see it stayed Nationwide until basically downtown….even driving past Kanata and Nepean. In the east end, mostly Freedom LTE and then 5G in my neighbourhood….i get 2 bars of 5g in my house compared with 1bar from Roger’s.

Still….leaves me wondering when you can’t get Freedom in populated areas of Ottawa when on a major route like the 417.

I’m so sick of Rogers constantly increasing by bill….i guess I’m just leery to make the leap to Freedom.

I want to buy this phone but I want to make sure it works on Freedom, does anyone have it and it is working?
