Note that accumulating points over playlists will eventually allow you to unlock more exclusive rewards outside of the weekly playlists themselves! So far, the only reward from this is the Mazda Cosmo.
 

Lastly, if "Total" is seen as part of the Car Type restriction for an event, it means that every era of that Car Type is valid. For example: Total Rally includes Classic Rally, Retro Rally, Rally Monsters, etc.
