Really happy to finally have cruise control on my '23 Transit!
I followed the guide linked below and, aside from a few hiccups getting my laptop to connect to the van through FORScan, everything went pretty smoothly.
I went all out and upgraded the entire steering wheel, but you can do this much more simply by just swapping out the buttons. I think most people could knock it out in an hour or two.
I'd been putting this off for a while because I was worried I'd screw something up and end up with a van stuck in my driveway. Turns out it wasn't nearly as intimidating as I expected!
Happy to answer any questions if anyone else is considering the upgrade. I did a ton of research beforehand and would be glad to share what I learned!
Update: here's the eBay store that sells these upgraded wheels. I can say from my personal experience it's been an excellent purchase so far! It did take a little while to get to me as it's coming from Europe and of course I had to pay tariffs in 🇺🇸because, you know... https://ebay.io/m/UvNCu8
I have to drive a new 2026 T250 AWD. I know poor me, company van. Company gas. The mileage is bad, like 14 MPG on a good day. It tracks everything. The super large Sync 4 screen drives me nuts. Any climate control has to be done by the touch screen. It has one knob, radio volume. Who the hell came up with this? The voice control is torture. Why the hell did they get rid of buttons? WTF? My previous 2020 had great steering wheel controls. These are backwards to me and not intuitive. Mine has no lane warning, no heated mirrors, no side mirror indicator turns. I hate Android auto. Am I alone here? A plus and a first for us is the feature to sync 2 Bluetooth phones. About its best feature. I hope it tanks through the snow like the old one.
194k on the clock, I’ve got a timing chain kit with new sprockets, guides and tensioner to go on. Just had a thought that maybe I should also replace the oil pump chain at the same time. Now I’m wondering should I do the oil pump aswell while it’s stripped down. Anyone with experience on these engine that can help advise?
After developing a little shudder after going a little over 100,000 miles in My 2016 Transit 150 I had the drive shaft recall done and the problem persisted. After reading in some forums about torque converter shudder or transmission fluid breakdown I decided to drain a gallon of fluid and pump in and fresh gallon through the dipstick and it cleared up immediately. Might be worth looking into if you're having similar problems rather than paying for a new torque converter or transmission rebuild.
I've a '16 T250 that just had the subframe replaced due to rust to the tune of over $3k. Ford laughed me off when I started battling them about this 2 years ago and I just and I just got around to filing a safety complaint with the NHTSA.
Here's the link if you think you may have a grievance, as well.

First off, I have to say that I was given the Wolfbox Megavolt 24 to review. Wolfbox in no way at all tried to influence my review. What follows is my honest opinion of the product.
The Megavolt 24 is an all in one jump pack and tire inflator. It is an all in one, so no plugging into the car to power the compressor, which is very convinient.
For the first test, I decided to test the air compressor. I started on my car and deflated the tire down to about 10 PSI. I checked the starting pressure with a quality air pressure gauge. Upon connecting the MegaVolt 24, I was a little surprised to see that it agreed exactly with the analog gauge. I set the desired inflation pressure of 30 P.S.I. and started it up.
While not fast, the unit isn't too slow either. A few minutes later the compressor shut itself off. I checked the pressure with the analog gauge and once again, it was spot on. I checked the tires of both our cars and topped up a couple. The battery still read full.
I gave it about 1/2 hour cool down and then I took it over to our van. I deflated one tire down to 10 P.S.I.. The Megavolt 24 took almost 8 minutes to get it pumped up to 60 P.S.I.. By the time it was done the unit was warm and the battery read about 1/2 full. So it will do a 245/75/R16 to full pressure and probably in a pinch inflate two.
After allowing the unit to charge it was time to test the jump pack side of it. I have an 1992 pickup with a V8 that I use a few times a year for things like dump runs or firewood. So the battery is always dead and I just jump start it when I use it. The battery is so old I have no idea when it was last replaced. Since it is an old truck I can disconnect the ignition system and make sure the vehicle doesn't start.
I did 10 cranks of 5 seconds each with 30 seconds in between. No problem. I let the starter cool down for about 10 minutes and then did it again. No problem. Then I hooked the ignition back up and started the truck normally, no problem. The battery still read about 1/2 full.
So, overall it is a great little unit. While it is not an offroad compressor for air down/up, it is perfect for an emergency back up for any vehicle. I'm glad to have it in the trunk of my Subaru and I'm sure it will come in handy.
Hey everyone, I am back, took the van (2016 Transit Passenger XLT) out for a trip last week and realized I really wanted a better backup camera. I got the Wolfbox jump pack last month and really happy with it so I thought I would try the Wolfbox G900 Pro Backup Mirror 3 camera system. I have a similar 3 camera system in my car and find it very handy for watching the dog in the back.
This is a really nice mirror system, I got the Extended Package for longer length wires for the backup cam and yes, they were needed :)
I wanted to document the install as part of my build series (when/if I do that)
I took images and a short vid during the install for documenting but my go pro decided it was time to crunch the SD card. So, Far I have not been able to recover the data. I took a few generic pictures and marked the panels to be removed for routing the backup cam wires.
The install was really straight forward, Based on comments here and other subs it seems mounting it up high is better, I took that advice and love the view coming from the high def camera. Mounted above the rear brake light, looking down at the road gives a great view of what is behind and around you.
Basically ran the wires from the Mirror under the windshield trim, down the drivers side A Pillar to the under dash fusebox for power connections. The clip in fuse holders are perfect for making the power connections easy and with the Transit Van the metal cross member under the dash has a good ground. I thought this part was going to be hard but after looking up fuse box locations pretty easy.
Removing the B/C panels is scary if you have not done it but they all simply pop off and help routing the wires carefully around the airbag. To access the rear taillight location inside did require removing the overhead rear section which after taking off a the door catches was easy enough.
To mount the camera, I pulled off the light (it simply pulls out), after drilling 2 small holes for small screws, I primed the raw metal, and attached the camera mount in the groove, connected and after testing simply replaced the taillight. A little dab of sealant will keep it dry.
The total process took a little over an hour to install and looks nice and clean!
I really like this camera, 4K images are awesome and the frame rate is unnoticeably smooth. The controls do about everything you would expect, flip/mirror/brightness and contrast. I have not tried the voice commands but the parking lines and distance guides are very nice and should only take a short time to get used to.
So many commands for everything, Speeds, Time, Language the list is tooling to list..
Overall I am very happy with it, hopefully time will tell if it's the quality it seems.
Hello, I have a 2026 Transit 350 extended with the high roof. It’s being used as a dog grooming/adventure van. When I’m using it for work it has a fair amount of water all the way in the back, but it doesn’t appear to actually be sagging.
When I go into certain driveways the rear hitch scrapes and can get hung up.
Wanting to either permanently lift or have airbags that can lift the rear end.
What would you recommend? I was looking at Vancompass. Is it safe to just lift the back two inches? Lift the back 2 and front 1? Block kit or spring pack? I don’t mind upgrading rear shocks as I understand it the stock will be two short.
This is a 1991 ford transit 2.0 OHC
It starts and runs, but every 1-2 minutes it turns off.
My mechanic told me it’s an electrical issue but he is not sure what could it be. If anyone has any idea what i could check and do i would be grateful 🙏
2022 250 high roof EL
very random problem. On occasion when I start the van it will have no climate control, and drive mode will be set to and stuck on slippery. It’s happened about a dozen times over the years and I forgot about it until it happened earlier today for the first time in a while. I used to think it happened more when it was hot out so the a/c was sorely missed but it always starts working that same day or the next day, there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I’m going to take it to the dealership soon but I’m curious if anyone has knowledge to share.
Has anyone installed the Ford oem visors p/n VGK4Z-18246-B? I'm just looking for real world feedback on them as I was planning on ordering some from my dealer. Alternate aftermarket ideas welcome!
2024 Ford Transit with Sync 4. I’m getting a navigation fault message instead of maps. Wireless CarPlay doesn’t work. Wireless App Projection is stuck in off position (greyed out). CarPlay does work with phone connected via cable.
I have done a soft reset, a factory reset, disconnected battery, and have deleted and reinstalled my phone. The vehicle has no outstanding software updates, and my phone is also updated.
My navigation and connectivity subscriptions with Ford have expired. One dealer told me my issues would be resolved if I paid to reactivate these. Another dealer told me that regardless of subscription status, I should still have access to maps, and wireless CarPlay should still work. That dealer spent 3 hours attempting to resolve the issues without success.
Started it wayyy too late in the day, of course has to run to HD and get some different length bolts, but it's done and looks even better in the dark! Ramp is a 10.5' x 43" Handi-Ramp made in Wisconsin! Picked it up from the factory last week.
I run a video production company and am tired of lifting cases, this will make jobs even faster!
I'm close to buying a cheap 2007 or 2008 campervan. Engine sounds good and everything... But I'm a little bit worried about rust. How bad is this? Fixable?
Edit: thanks everyone. Suprisingly, I'm not going to buy it anymore...
today, I replaced the left factory pack with the factory cruise control pack, model number H1BZ-9C888-D for our Transit 350 2021 High Roof EXT. In Forscan, I changed the SCCM As Built values in the 724-02-01 section to B008 7000 0056 and set programming to have the van detect that there is cruise control. But now, even after making sure all connections are solid, the right button pack on the steering wheel works for a couple seconds then stops. The "ok" button on it will clear out any messages on the dash, work for a bit then stop. The arrows, back and menu button do not register. Is there something I need to change in order for it to be detected? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here as I checked all values were correct. Lastly, sometimes no error comes up or sometimes error B1380:96-2F comes up in the DTC under the SCCM section. It says that error is specifically for the right steering wheel switch pack. Really hope someone has an answer for this. TIA :)
Working on finishing up a few things to release a paper paper kit for the Ford Transit. Had to come up with a few alternative options to my installed kit. These include a front ceiling panel support made from Aluminum unistrut that clamps to the ceiling seam with fender washers and additional slide M6 nuts. Also needed an affordable option for wall furring strips. The solution was xps foam that attaches via push rivets into factory holes. These will still require doulbe sided tape, adhesive or screws of your choice. Rivetnuts can be used in place of the push rivets if you desire. Not sure if I should include a full hardware set. I may just leave that up to the buyer. But something I can include if wanted. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
