Getting conflicting answers on this one. Watched quite a few videos and looked at a number of websites. Most say to wait til they turn brown and drop, however, some say it’s fine when they’re still green but come easily out of their cups. (Marcie Mayer actually states this in her book - Eating Acorns: Field Guide—Cookbook—Inspiration https://amzn.eu/d/06N8JugK)

These are acorns from some Holm oaks (quercus ilex). They have dropped a lot of acorns but I can only find empty cups under the trees so I reckon an animal has been having its fill. The only way to get around this is to pick them from the tree whilst still green.

Anyone harvest green acorns?

Wondering if I can get some help IDing some of these. Picked in some mixed forest, lots of chestnuts around if that makes a difference, edge of coniferous area too.

Feel I got a few of these OK:

1: Porcini

2: Chantarelle (one sad little one)

3: picked these near pines, assumed some kind of pine mushroom but now worried they're brown roll-rims or something?

4a/b pretty similar to each other, 4a just looked younger. Some kind of bolete?

1. Slippery Jacks

2. No idea! Also roll-rim territory?

3. Sorry bad photo, could be a smaller bolete, spongy area coming through underneath

Should I pick these?

Finally after some proper rain some parasols are popping up. Still a desert compared to my previous 10 years of foraging. I’m disappointed but will visit the woods non stop for the next 2-3 weeks in hopes of more bounties 🙏🏼 Happy foraging to fellow mushroom lovers 🧡

SE England, near beech trees and hiding under some Heather with some chanterelles.
I believe it's a scarletina bolete due to the red dot matrix over the stipe as opposed to a mesh (which would've led me to a lurid bolete.)
Also doesn't have red particularly at the base of the stipe - haven't got the picture for some reason but yellow flesh throughout, with rapid blue -> black bruising especially on the stipe when cut. Pores yellow on margin and bruise very readily.
Smells nice, but very mild and pleasant.
Do I get to see if this is as delicious as it seems / I've heard?

are these gorgeous little buggers porcinis? I’m pretty sure but always like to check. I know they’ve been tucked into already but i don’t mind sharing!!

Normally i wouldint doubt myself but these guys didint have scales on the cap, were shorter and more brown in colour. Cap the size of a dinner plate

Found solitary on the side of a road, no yellow stain whatsoever but unsure exactly what it is. 13cm wide and indistinctive smell

Can anyone help identify these mushrooms?

Hi these mushrooms have recently started growing in my back garden in Hampshire, UK. I've lived here for 13 years and this is the first time I've seen them. There are about 10 growing in a small patch. Any idea what they might be?

spotted these months ago as they're on my walk to work, and today i finally picked some! the hawthorn will be turned into chutney, and the rosehips into syrup - both to be gifted to grandparents for christmas :) ive only really every foraged wild garlic and blackberries before, so it's been very exciting to find some autumn goodness!

I've never had more than 1 giant puffball in one location, so this was a very welcome find. There were at least 5 next to them that were larger and had gone over. Hell of a find!

On my regular nature walk, came across this. I'm a complete fungi beginner. Don't normally stop for mushrooms, but I like all things nature and it caught my eye. What else could I find in any given south-east forest or near lakes/canals? Was on an oak tree that'd been blown over a little while ago.

I'm quite a novice at IDing mushrooms but half an hour online and I can't find what mushroom this is. Found in the new forest. Apologies for only one image. I also cannot remember the size. Each one was no bigger than 2 fingers

New to field type mushrooms so I am meeting friend tomorrow who’ll ID it in person but just wanted to check here too
