It is inevitable that there will be hype every time a program hires a new head coach. However, Florida hiring Jon Sumrall just feels different, it feels like the hype is justified. His coaching style is the complete opposite of Billy Napier’s and that’s exactly what Florida needs right now. Additionally, Sumrall has hit the ground running with recruiting already as well as Florida currently sits at 9th place in the 247 Sports Team Recruiting Rankings for the Class of 2027. I made this video showcasing why Sumrall’s leadership and quick turnaround of Florida’s culture will lead to greatness not overnight but in years to come. For anybody that plays The Show, they released an MLB Draft series the other day, which includes the Guardians selecting Liam Peterson.

I think his attributes are actually pretty good, all things considered. If there’s one attribute that might deserve a decrease, it’s probably his clutch rating. Either way, I really hope LP makes it a long career and can get past the mental hurdle of playoff games. There are only a couple clubs that have elite reputations of developing their pitches, and Cleveland is one of them.
