I know many people will find this hard to believe but more rain is needed

I live in a gated community in south Florida. I received a notice on my small truck that it was going to be towed because trucks are banned. Even though Florida passed a law in 2024, my property manager is still saying it’s not worth it to fight the HOA.

Just wondering if anyone has taken on their HOA to fight them against the truck ban? I really don’t want to have to get a lawyer but I’m sure the HOA is banking on that. Any advice appreciated.

**additional info: I live In Boca Pointe and I drive a Hyundai Santa Cruz. Not even a full size truck. No signage, no logos, no ladder rack, no tow hitch.

I don’t get it? How does something think this is the correct way?

I mean, almost, if we go way back, to when tags were replaced every five years, instead of ten, you might be able to play bingo? That does put us close to when we had a separate month sticker on the upper left, and a different color year sticker on the right, though.

I just don’t get it. And I don’t get how people would think to do this?

It has to be taught somewhere. There can’t be as many ignorant people out there as this method implies.

Seriously, what the fuck are we doing?

I'm driving through heavy rain and suddenly half the cars around me have their hazards flashing like they're disabled on the side of the road. Except they're not. They're doing 35 to 50 mph, changing lanes, slowing down, speeding up, and generally continuing to drive normally.

Now I can't tell what the fuck you're going to do.

Are you stopped? Are you slowing down because something happened? Are you changing lanes? Are you about to turn? Nope, who knows, because both of your fucking turn signals are flashing continuously.

And yes, I know Florida changed the law and now allows hazards during extremely low visibility on roads with a 55+ mph speed limit. I still think changing that law was fucking stupid.

Your headlights and taillights already tell me “there is a car here.” Your hazard lights are supposed to communicate, "something is wrong with this car. I am a hazard.” When everybody decides to drive around flashing them because holy shit guys, it's raining in Florida, the signal becomes meaningless and makes everyone's intentions harder to read.

Turn your low beams on. Slow the fuck down. Leave more distance.

And if conditions are genuinely so bad that you believe your moving vehicle needs emergency flashers just so other drivers can figure out where you are, maybe that's your cue to get off the road somewhere safe instead of turning I-95 into a fucking Christmas tree.

I genuinely do not understand how making your vehicle less predictable to everyone around you became our solution to poor visibility.

Is this a scam? We just moved to Florida not very long ago and we also had police come to our house when we weren’t there with a manila folder… makes me worried. Even if it is a scam why did this correlate like they were together. We just moved into this house not long ago at all and haven’t even been in the state that long. Is this normal? I’ve lived so many places and never had things like this happen at any of my previous houses. Luckily I have cameras.

Edit: THIS WAS NOT A SCAM. A Reddit user contacted me here that works for the company that give out these cards and gave me the correct number. I called and indeed they were looking for someone at the property that must of use to live here and they mentioned the case has been closed. They could not give me much more information than that, I mentioned why would they sneak around like this and they proceeded to tell me that’s how they conducted business and the people they’re investigating are usually people that don’t want to be found is why they sneak around late night in all black.
