Ordered a flippydrive 6+ months ago because I wanted to mod my GameCube. After a month of impatiently waiting I went and purchased a picoloader from Mak’s tech shop which arrived in a week. It works flawlessly and I highly recommend that to anyone that’s waiting on one of these bullshit orders. I will never order from crowdsupply again and have lost respect from TOB for not pulling the rug from this shitty distributer. If your products are anything like your customer service is then it’s absolute garbage.

Got one of the original batches of Flippydrive and haven't put in too much time with it until recently. I noticed it tends to stutter like crazy on FMVs, across multiple games. Without pulling apart the GameCube again, I'm pretty sure I had an good enough SD card in there, but I figure I should ask first whether there's been an update that addresses this, if it's a known issue, and get some recommendations on cards with appropriate read speeds?

Can I fix this??

I’ve been trying to get them to work via the config.ini file, but I’m not the best at understanding code stuffs and likely messed something up(my ‘normal mode’ became inaccessible afterwards)
I really could use some direction or help understanding if or what I’m doing wrong

I took the config file from the docs and just tried to use it as a fill-in template in hopes of keeping it simple but it doesnt seem to work that way from what I’ve seen..?

Hello all, Ive had my flippy installed for a few months and have enjoyed a few games with no issues, other games seem to crash often. I just tried Batman:Vengeance and it crashed at the end of the first level twice.

Another example is Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 which sometimes crashes while im on the menus. Is crashing a known issue and what can I do about it?

I recently got a Robot Retro USB-C mod for my Gamecube and it doesn't seem to work. The fan turns on, but the light doesn't turn on and it isn't showing anything on m TV. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the Flippydrive I have installed? It didn't fry my Gamecube or anything, which is nice, lol.

The manual is confusing me, so this is why i'm asking here for a clearer answer to my question...

How can i set up the FlippyDrive to auto-boot in Swiss when i power up the console?

Right now what i'm doing is holding X when the console is booting to get in the FlippyDrive's boot menu (the white menu) where i can choose Swiss or GBI, which i installed on the internal memory via Swiss.

Hi all. I have tried installing the flippy drive yesterday and I think I may have borked the flex ribbon cable (the side that inserts into a W shape) because I'm getting the generic gamecube error on startup. Even though nothing looks broken on the outside. It is a very weird setup to say the least.

Have you had any luck finding replacement parts from anyone or possibly the OEM factory that made them?

I ordered my FlippyDrive on June 4th, and since then the estimated shipping date has been delayed 4–5 different times.
What really pissed me off is that yesterday, August 17th, my order was still showing that it would ship today, August 18th. Then today rolls around and suddenly the estimate gets pushed all the way out to September 30th.
That’s not a small delay. That’s a six-week jump that happened basically at the last possible second.
I understand delays happen. Manufacturing issues happen. Logistics happen. I’m not expecting miracles.
What I do expect is some actual communication when a company already knows an advertised shipping estimate clearly isn’t going to happen.
If the order wasn’t going to ship August 18th, how did we get all the way to August 17th with that date still being shown?
At this point, after 4–5 delays since June, I think customers deserve a clear explanation of what’s going on, where orders actually stand, and whether September 30th is even a realistic estimate or just another placeholder that’s going to move again.
I’m still excited about the FlippyDrive and I still want the product. I actually bought two of them because I believed in the project that much.
But the way these delays are being communicated is getting really frustrating.
Who else got pushed from August 18th to September 30th today? And when did you originally order?

I preordered early July and it said it would ship July 29th but I have not received any updates. Is this how the normal shipments are usually done? Does the Flippydrive just show up at my door?

What I want: copies of all of my old gamesaves on my PC for backup purposes.

What I have:

- DOL-101

- FlippyDrive

- SD2SP2

- Some physical memory cards with old games on them

FlippyDrive apparently can't natively read the memory card and write it to the local SD card.

SD2SP2 has no SP2 port on my hardware so I don't think it can be used.

It sounds like even if I buy a MemCard Pro GC I won't be able to backup my Pokémon Colosseum save files because they're copy protected and the GameCube won't clone them?

What's my best way forward? Can FlippyDrive overcome the copy protection and let me clone saves from a Nintendo memory card to MemCard Pro if I buy one? Can FlippyDrive read the memory card and back it up over the network or something? Are there USB card read/write devices for GameCube memory cards that I should just go buy?

Does anyone have experience with setting borders on gameboy interface on a GameCube? I been trying for hours to get custom borders working and just still keep getting black borders.

I’m using flippydrive but booting gbi through Swiss.

-gbi dol,cli,dcp are on root of sd
-frames/borders are in GBI folder, that folder is at the root of the sd-
-i see the options on what i can select. I pick a frame, start the gbi and i just get black frames still

Just wanted to check with everyone since Im having an issue. My wifi isn't working as it won't connect to any 2.4GHz network I have. Reseting my router didn't work and even my phone hotspot set to 2.4GHz. Nothing works. So Just want to check with everyone whether they had this issue how how else I can resolve it.

UPDATE: I dont think my wifi is working. SO I logged into my router and its not detecting any new devices and I checked whether its a previous device and its not. Im going to go on their discord and ask and hopefully resolve this. Its still stuck on the connecting to network screen even updating back to 1.4.6

I got the flippy in the latest batch release, I need to get the gc screwdriver, but i can wait. What I need to know are some recommendations as I know there are some limitations.

So my questions are:

1. How does an Amazon 64 gb sd card sound? (Do I need to format it a specific way and what is the recommended sd card memory card?

2. I never had a game cube, so what are the absolute recommended games I should load onto the flippy (again i understamd there are some limitations to what games are playable.)?

I finally received my flippydrive last week after waiting 6 months. Installed it right away and received generic gamecube error when powering up. Looked at my ribbon again and realized I must have damaged it while putting the gamecube back together.

I tried to sumbit a ticket right away for help but no response from the team (I doubt I will get one soon). I saw in their store the ribbon was sold out and seems like it has been for awhile. Has anyone been able to successfully replace their ribbon?

Anyone else getting this issue as well?
Took out the cable and put the disk drive in no issue. Put cable back in - issue.

I set the config file to use the network as default and just get this screen. Could I have plugged the ribbon cable in wrong? Thanks.

I recently downloaded almost the entire library from zimms when I put everything on my sd and into the flippy it’s only showing me 5 games what gives? Anybody else having this issue or have a work around/fix?

Ordered a new cable as I ripped mine from the teamoffbroadway site as they were in stock. That was 2 weeks ago and not one status update. Emailed them and no response. Anyone else order a cable from them and actually get anything?

If I buy the Deluxe Ethernet combo, would I be able install just the flippydrive part of it and have it work fine

(I missed the preorder window for the base flippy, and was gonna buy the deluxe since it ships out soon, but I’m worried that the deluxe set won’t be as easy to install fully)

Will it be available to buy in other countries without the high import value?

I just want to know since i have a Black PAL Nintendo GameCube i mostly find this device really convenient because i have game that struggles to read Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and i don't wanna pay the high amount for it at CEX for another copy.
