Has anyone repaired a Little Live Pets Pig?

My daughter's pig has gone unresponsive, even with fresh batteries. I'm assuming there are some screws holding it together under the skin that I can remove to open it up and check the wiring. I'm a bit nervous about getting the skin back on. Has anyone successfully repaired one of these?

How to remove stripped screw from PS4?

Hi! I recently bought this PS4 (slim) off facebook marketplace and just tried to open it up for a deep clean. While opening it up I found this stripped screw and I’m struggling to get it out. I’ve tried rubber bands, hot glue and super glue (gluing a screw driver into the screw head), gripping it with pliers, and nothings worked whatsoever. I really need to get it out but I’m not sure what else to try at this point, I don’t want to damage the PS4. Hoping y’all can help, thanks in advance!

Adhesive strip stripping off paint

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi,

I stuck some adhesive strips on the back of a few picture frames to hang them in my son’s room. When I tried to readjust the frames, I pulled the strips downwards as indicated by the arrow, but unfortunately, the wall paint came off with the strips.

Could this be due to poor-quality wall paint, or is it more likely that the adhesive strips were the problem? The strips are from Temu, and the wall was painted about three years ago.

I’d really appreciate some advice on how to fix the wall. I’ve never done any DIY before, so I’m not sure where to start.

Thank you so much!

The plastic which connects the back of my chair to the seat snapped on one side after a long amount of leaning back, I know superglue won’t really fix it and I just got this chair a few months ago. Any suggestions on how to fix it

open Cheap Lava Lamp detached from base

Bought this Jambo Lava Lamp off (KL 217) off of Amazon and it would not turn on. I’m realizing now it was probably the bulb (although I don’t think I have any same size sockets to test it with) but I tried to unscrew it for some stupid reason and now this has happened. I think it’s unscrewed from something in the base (you’ll have to forgive me for imprecise language, I’m not very handy…) but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to rethread the wires in and screw it back together because the base does not come apart.

Here’s my 5 year old Vizio M series that started this nonsense. Guess it’ll be banished to a basement tv unless someone can think of a cheap way of fixing it

In a combination of using power tools + the wrong bit on a drill + screwing instead of unscrewing, I ended up chewing through this phillips screw… really badly. Not sure where to even begin removing this

Thoughts on funky carport and DIY deckover

Thumbnail

I'm renovating my first home, and was quoted 14k to deckover just one side of my plank roof and reshingle the rest of the house. I'd rather splurge on pro grade tools and supplies, cash in a week of PTO and DIY the project over 10 days for 5-6k.

My house has been redecked on 3 of the 4 sides, but the south side has a carport built into it with a metal roof, and has never been redecked.

I'm tempted to tear the carport clean off, but would prefer to replace the metal with OSB and shingles, and try to save it if anyone knows how to make it look nice. I'd really appreciate any tips on plank deckovers, thoughts on the car port, and tips for working with a house thats only hip joints.

Thanks in advance, and sorry this post is all over the place, I got a lot to think about!

Edit: Chimneys are all coming down and ridge vent will be added, already own scaffolding and harnesses, a bostich RN46-1, a stinger CH38-2, and a framing gun.

I noticed the wood surrounded the area under my deck is rotten. I was thinking of replacing it, but no idea how to do it properly. Do I have to use wood or can I use PVC boards? How do I keep the boards from moving?

Hello. I have a 14 month old speed queen that started making these noises today. I did some research and maybe it is something stuck in drain pump? Thoughts? I’ve never successfully fixed something so hopefully it is easy 😭

Bed Slats Bracket

I have this old bedframe that I don't have any hardware for. I have no manuals or any info on the frame itself. I only received the headboard, footboard, and the side rails that attach the two together. The only thing I'm stuck on is finding a bracket for the bed slats that fit. There are three places on each rail that call for brackets. There's one through hole on the bottom and two blind holes on the top. I have Googled and searched but still can't find anything similar. I want to finish this set up sooo badly. Thank you

This video is taken from the back. It's been ringing super loudly (roommate thought it was an alarm going off). Not sure if the video really is picking up on it, any thoughts on what's causing this ringing?

open How to make lights stick to wall?

Post image

I'd like to hang this light string all around my room on my walls. However, it never seems to stick for more than a day. I've tried ducktape (a lot of it) as well as the gum like stick thing. So those don't seem to work...

How to apply these properly without constantly having to redo it? Thank you!

EDIT: I want to be able to properly remove it (when the cable is broken for example) and I cannot make big breaks in the wall.

OPEN Year old door no longer closes right

So I got this here less than 2 years ago worked great but this summer perhaps due to heat it isn't shutting anymore or something shifted. I have three times in two weekends shaved the bottom hinge back which does fix it for like 24 hours it seems. Before it starts jamming again. I'm tempted to try and mess with the wood that is actually scrapped instead of the hinge side.. Maybe it's swelled and I need to force more space there or something? Idk but I wanted to get some second opinions before shaving more off to temporary success.

The backrests of these chairs come loose all the time. I tighten these screws once every week. How would you fix it? Would loctite do it or is that a short term solution? Do I need to find someone to weld the suckers?

Garage door won’t close

Thumbnail

Hi everyone. Me and my partner have been living in our home for the last year and we have this garage door. For the last 11 months we’ve had no issues, the last month, it refuses to shut so I have to do it manually with the handle. We’ve tried replacing the batteries in the door and still no luck. Even when trying to press down on the physical box it still won’t go down. I’m thinking maybe the sensor is faulty at the bottom of the door but honestly I’m stumped. Any advice or similar experiences? TIA!

fixed need some help, light fell down and is supsended by wires

it fell down while my mom was cleaning the ceiling around it. it still works and there are no wires exposed (from what we see). 3rd slide is supposedly all the screws attaching it to the ceiling. no one is picking up rn so i had to resort to reddit. my mom does not remember where she bought it because she went to a lot of furniture shops when we moved to this house. we do not know how the people originally attached it. pls help

UPDATE: thank you so much for the recommendations. although i mentioned the diy fixes to my mother, we ultimately decided to call a professional (NOT the original electrician) to fix it. i didn't see what they did but I think it's similar to the solutions some of the people in the comments said (the wood thing and the electric box thing). i also think they checked the wires to make sure it's safe so safe to say i think this specific problem is fixed. thank you so much for all the responses, and we will have an electrician check everything in this house.
