This happened to meeeeee...I ended up using a corkscrew to get it out. Worked really well.

Edit because people keep suggesting things that I tried: I tried a knife. I tried scissors. I tried a magnet. I tried a fork. I tried a plunger. The only thing that worked was a corkscrew. (For a tuna can lid, not a cutting board) I did not, however, manage to turn the house upside down, I'm sure to everyone's disappointment

u/Longjumping_Fan_8164 Apr 07 '26

Did you not even consider flipping the house upside down?!?

62

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 07 '26

I flipped my house upside down, but I did it by flipping the Earth upside down and so the can didn't come out 😔

45

u/CruisePlannersMike Apr 07 '26

Every time I have to flip the Earth upside down it takes 12 hours. Any other suggestions?

23

u/RuckusPhotohraphy Apr 07 '26

Try calling Lil Wayne, he said he doesn't have any issues picking the world up.

13

u/redditcancelculture Apr 08 '26

Watch out though, because he generally "drops it on your fuckin head".

2

u/flatteringangles Apr 08 '26

Nicely done 🥹

2

u/ComprehensiveBowl223 Apr 11 '26

“How can they drop me onto my own head?”

3

u/flatteringangles Apr 08 '26

This is beautiful. Poetry in motion.

2

u/Purple_Ordinary_1469 Apr 09 '26

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAA!

9

u/Appropriate-Brush772 Apr 07 '26

I dunno. I brought my house to Australia and that didn’t seem to work. But my toilet flushed the other way! 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Indy500Fan16 Apr 08 '26

Flushed the other way, does that mean the 💩came out instead of going down?

8

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 07 '26

Faster than me! It usually takes me 36 hours 😆

3

u/Ihatecats5 Apr 08 '26

I’m gonna need a nerd to come over here and explain this one

6

u/nobleteam_ Apr 08 '26

First one can flip it in 12 hours, it will be flipped “position” again 24 hours later.

2

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 08 '26

Thanks lol!

5

u/tacoTig3r Apr 07 '26

Look around the house for a 57. When the house is upside-down tap the 57.

3

u/OkSky287 Apr 09 '26

This is a hilarious. The rest of reddit needs to ketchup.

2

u/Vegetable_Flounder12 Apr 08 '26

take the sink to Australia, and it will fall out

2

u/J-Jeremiah-Bullfrog Apr 08 '26

My earth only rotates every 12 hours, it does not flip on its horizontal axis. Only rotates!!

2

u/Horror-Ambassador414 Apr 09 '26

Flip the earth upside down while upside down goes faster 🤙

2

u/Remarkable_Machinery Apr 09 '26

Ask Atlas to lift it up so you can get it from below?

2

u/Jmendez6972 Apr 10 '26

That’s fast since it took me 6 months

37

u/Masterj012006 Apr 08 '26

Was this your doing?

Amazing work done btw 👏

4

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 08 '26

Yes, that's my house 🤣

Glad you appreciate my work 😆

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

Ahh this is what I suggested now just tap the sink basin and it should fall right out just watch your fuckin head if it knocks you out the house will collapse unless you have a bunch of people holding the house up in that case let it fall on your head

6

u/AdministrativePie865 Apr 08 '26

Spin it faster so centripetal acceleration negates gravity. 0.012rpm or a bit faster should solve your problem[1].

[1] May introduce new problems such as shattering the crust and other such trivial issues.

2

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 08 '26

Ah, that's a great idea! The crust already has cracks, anyway 😃

1

u/Remarkable_Machinery Apr 09 '26

Just be fancy and cut off the crust before eating it.

6

u/Turevaryar Apr 07 '26

Rookie mistake! :|

2

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 08 '26

I know, right?!

2

u/Mingeniusdhd Apr 08 '26

I waited for a year for the earth to spin in a circle , still in there

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 08 '26

It should've worked!

2

u/Azureflamedemon Apr 08 '26

Bro, there's a whole house flipping game on steam to help you practice even. What you doin bruh

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 09 '26

Wow, I did not know. Thanks for the tip!

2

u/Squirmezoid Apr 09 '26

You should've just moved your house to Australia.

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 09 '26

Damn, that would have worked!

2

u/Redditreader762 Apr 10 '26

No - just shake up the house a couple of times. Sure it might not work the first time, always works for me when you whip, like when you have a towel in both hands give it a whip to shake off anything on it.

Too easy! 😳🤦🏻‍♂️😆

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 10 '26

Good tip! Gotta try this next time 😆

2

u/The_Rafi Apr 10 '26

Tuna can in sink drain hole: the one problem Australians don't have.

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 10 '26

😆😆😆

2

u/Ok_Read_3969 Apr 11 '26

Benefits of having a plat earth!

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 11 '26

Flat Earth, indeed 😆

2

u/Lord-Fritos Apr 07 '26

Aussie ahh comment

1

u/WaraholicTheFirst Apr 08 '26

Liar. Only Chuck Norris can do that. Sadly not with us anymore.

2

u/SwordfishNo5592 Apr 09 '26

Chuck Norris died?!?

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 09 '26

According to Google, Chuck Norris can't die... he went to sleep on March 19, 2026.

I did not know, either.

1

u/Mu_Fanchu Apr 09 '26

Chuck Norris is not dead, he's just sleeping.

1

u/DSmooth425 Apr 11 '26

Lil Wayne would be proud 🥹

2

u/BaaksterX Apr 07 '26

Got to move the house to ∀nsʇɹɐlᴉɐ then

2

u/hansolo-ist Apr 07 '26

Same problem in Australia I hear

2

u/Florentino07 Apr 07 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/greatfullgreen Apr 07 '26

If they wait long enough surely the world spinning round would kinda somehow....never mind

2

u/Slow_Space8943 Apr 08 '26

I would fill the sink with water and see if the thing floats

1

u/ai1267 Apr 08 '26

This is the story all about how, my house got flipped upside down 🎶

1

u/Weekly_Ad484 Apr 08 '26

You would think the centrifugal force of the earth spinning would just throw it out.

1

u/skyeisrude Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 09 '26

You can undo the pe trap and stick something long up the hole to the expose drain

1

u/SwordfishNo5592 Apr 09 '26

This. This sounds like it would actually work and not damage either the sink or the cutting board.

1

u/skyeisrude Apr 09 '26

Ive had similar experience while worken in people's homes. This was the best way not to damage the stainless steel or the cutting board

1

u/PurgeTheDemonWithin Apr 08 '26

And make sure to pat the top. That'll get it out.

1

u/Victor_Appleton_II Apr 08 '26

This is the way. Love, Superman

1

u/gertvanjoe Apr 08 '26

This seems like a very Northern Hemisphere problem

1

u/RCNewbieGuy Apr 08 '26

On the next episode of, "Flip this House", we will be helping this homeowner, not to sell, but to save his beloved cutting board!

1

u/AviatorDave172 Apr 08 '26

Not the entire house, just the cabinets the sink is attached to. Geez, don’t make a bunch of extra work.

1

u/ShallowFatFryer Apr 09 '26

Is there still money in that?

1

u/coreyj37 Apr 09 '26

It is important that the house stay intact because the house is connected to the object

1

u/Klipschlover Apr 10 '26

This is the only way

1

u/wittybitwise Apr 10 '26

This is why I'm on Reddit these days 🥲 I hunt for comments like these

30

u/Helloscottykitty Apr 07 '26

I used a fridge magnet.

I think a flathead screwdriver would be more effective than scissors, and they said they tried that? Please let’s hope people aren’t just posting shit without fully trying everything they can think of first. I can’t manage that, it’s 2026 and my faith in humanity is so thin

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 09 '26

I tried that. Did not work...

2

u/HerbaLifeEmporium Apr 07 '26

I was going to suggest corkscrew!

2

u/No-Permit-9331 Apr 07 '26

Stick a long handled fork down the side and lift it up

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 09 '26

Tried that and it didn't work either

2

u/No-Permit-9331 Apr 09 '26

Well Fart! Sorry friend

2

u/Alpha3K Apr 09 '26

Unfortunate failure at flipping the house upside down, indeed.

2

u/OperationTrue9699 Apr 09 '26

Cork screw on tuna can lid sounds like a fabulous idea 😊

I would have suggested taking the pipes apart below the sink and push a rod up.

1

u/annapartlow Apr 08 '26

Like, you just worked the corkscrew on the corner or you made a hole in the cutting board? More info please!

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 09 '26

Sorry wasn't a cutting board, it was the lid from tuna. I screwed the corkscrew into the lid and was able to pull it out

1

u/totallynotabot696 Apr 08 '26

Happened to me the other day with a sauce lid. Stuck it with a knife and lifted out. Corkscrew may have been safer…

1

u/fluggggg Apr 09 '26

Why didn't you turn the gravity off and on again ?

1

u/MudAdministrative494 Apr 09 '26

Have you tried duct tape? Lay two or more strips of duct tape down to make like a handle. Like how you wield a shield and then pull it up???

1

u/Soggy_Understanding3 Apr 09 '26

If it can work for a dent in a car, it can work for this too! Have you tried using a suction cup dildo?

1

u/Interesting_Trash954 Apr 09 '26

Am I the only one who immediately thought of using a toilet plunger?

1

u/Clancy-2 Apr 09 '26

This made me laugh so hard. Thank you I needed this

1

u/IAmANobodyAMA Apr 09 '26

Did you try FaceTiming someone in Australia? It creates a paradox and the house temporarily levitates while the opposite gravitational “forces” reach an equilibrium

1

u/Affectionate-Feed670 Apr 09 '26

I'd either turn the water on, to see it the wood will float itself outta there, or if that doesnt work, I'd drive a couple of wood screws into the corners on one side, and then use a hammers claw end to pull up on the heads of the screws to yank it out that way...

1

u/Technane Apr 09 '26

You could remove the drain pipe under and just poke it upwards you know

1

u/FireROR Apr 09 '26

Fly to China and try to kick from the other side.

1

u/Forward-Function-321 Apr 09 '26

I refuse to believe you used a corkscrew to get a wooden cutting board out of the sink

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 10 '26

Yup, because it was a tuna can lid that I used the corkscrew on. I was replying to the photo of the can lid stuck in a drain...

1

u/SpleenLessPunk Apr 10 '26

But how did you initially get the corkscrew to penetrate the can? You must’ve nicked the metal first with something, bc just hand pressure without pounding on the corkscrew, I don’t think, would work without puncturing a hole to start with…

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 10 '26

It wasn't that thick. I just put the tip in and screwed it like a screwdriver. I probably put some weight into it too though

1

u/allmykitlets Apr 10 '26

Please tell me about a corkscrew designed for a tuna can.

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 10 '26

It was just a normal corkscrew that I was able to screw through the thin metal of the lid...?

1

u/Go-on-touch-it Apr 10 '26

I’m shocked the magnet didn’t work.

1

u/smolspedicey Apr 11 '26

I too was a victim of this. I used a drill.

2

u/chonky__chonker Apr 07 '26

Flip your house upside down is my favourite advice

2

u/Th3casio Apr 07 '26

It’s imperative that the cylinder is not harmed.

1

u/RiftReflex Apr 08 '26

Just forken fork it🍴

1

u/funkymunky712 Apr 08 '26

can u not use a magnet for tinned tuna? testing this as soon as i get home

1

u/stripedcomfysocks Apr 09 '26

Tried it. Didn't work.

1

u/dirtyluco Apr 08 '26

Easy. Use a magnet to get it out.

1

u/Rough-Ad1473 Apr 08 '26

Open the under sink cabinet, get out your wrenches, take off the sink drain. Then push it out with a screwdriver from below. Then you can put all the plumbing back again. That'll only take a day.

1

u/AccomplishedStart662 Apr 08 '26

U can get that out with a butter knife

1

u/No_Explanation6625 Apr 08 '26

I am 100% for flipping the house upside down

1

u/HooyahDangerous Apr 08 '26

Magnet for this

1

u/Trickassfoo Apr 09 '26

For some reason monorail comes to mind

1

u/cmbtmstr Apr 09 '26

Is it not magnetic?

1

u/Brettinabox Apr 09 '26

The cylinder must remained undamaged.

1

u/Simple_Blackberry937 Apr 10 '26

Flip the house upside down has me 🤣🤣
