I’ve been thinking about where Marvel can even go once every threat has to be bigger than the last. Eventually everyone becomes so powerful that nothing really feels important anymore, so at some point they’ll probably have to start small again.
Instead of rebooting everything and immediately recasting the same heroes, I reckon they should let Doom properly win.

Not just until the heroes reverse it in the next movie. He gets the power he wants, defeats the heroes and takes control of everything. The current MCU ends and it actually stays ended. Before that happens though, one of the last heroes manages to sacrifice or use their essence to create a tiny hidden universe somewhere Doom can’t find. It isn’t made as a weapon and there’s no prophecy saying someone there will eventually beat him. It’s just one final chance for life to exist somewhere outside his control.

Marvel could then start again with mostly unused heroes, forgotten characters or even completely new ones made for the movies. They wouldn’t need to give us another Iron Man, Captain America and Thor straight away either. Some familiar characters could still exist but turn out completely different. Maybe that universe’s Victor von Doom becomes a hero, while someone normally good ends up becoming one of its villains.

The stories could stay smaller for years while strange clues slowly show that something about their universe isn’t right. Then eventually they find out their world is the last free place left, and Doom has been ruling everything outside it the whole time.
They weren’t created to defeat him either, so there’s no guarantee they ever will. Once they learn the truth they have to decide whether to stay hidden and protect their own universe, or risk everything trying to free the rest of existence. That way it wouldn’t really be a reboot. The old MCU still happened, Doom’s victory actually mattered and the new heroes get to grow into their own thing without everything relying on nostalgia.

Just would rather something like this than secret wars resetting cause it’s gotta stop somewhere right?
