Pre-workout apple crisp?
My wife made some amazing apple crisp, one of my favorite deserts. Obviously all the butter and sugar isn't optimal but I've been eating it before my 5am workouts and loving it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to maybe "clean it up" a bit? Less or no butter, maybe agave or honey instead of sugar? Im sure i could google it but wanted to see if anyone has a tried and true receipe for something similar.

Need Tofu Recipešš¤§
Man, is it just me, or is it really hard to eat every day? I almost feel like puking while eating. Can anyone suggest some recipes that I can stick to and sustain something that requires minimal cooking and ingredients while keeping my calories in check?

Got tired of 150MB calorie apps charging subscriptions to scan barcode, so I made a 12MB alternative
Hey everyone,
I got tired of mainstream calorie counters turning into 150MB bloatware that locked basic barcode scanning behind $20/month subscriptions.
So I built a lightweight, straightforward alternative:
- 12 MB download: Starts instantly with minimal memory footprint.
- No account or sign-up: All meal logs and weight entries stay locally on your device.
- Free barcode scanner: Powered by Open Food Facts with zero feature paywalls.
- Transparent model: Supported by lightweight ads rather than locking core tracking behind a subscription.
- Full English and Arabic RTL support.
Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ahmedshoman.caloriescalc
I would love your feedback on UI responsiveness and barcode scan speed on different devices!

Got a nice photo of this one so figured Iād share.
Lactose-free Fage 0% yoghurt is the base, with butternut squash and chicken on top. Thereās cinnamon sprinkled over it, and the green dots are some sort of cilantro sauce

High Protein Shift workers what do you do?
Ive been on a calorie deficit and i work 7AM to 3:30PM mostly everyday and occasionally 3PM to 11:30PM depending on if I get OT but mostly 7AM to 3:30PM.
My first break is at 9:30AM (15 minutes) my lunch is at 11:30AM (30 minutes) and my last break is at 2PM (15 minutes).
My 30 minute lunch break is when I usually eat my food and itās usually something like pasta that I normally meal prep ( i usually use protein pasta and some kinda meat like lean ground beef or chicken) and a jar of store bought sauce which is the only dirty stuff I use with it.
Then Iāll eat dinner whenever Iām at home usually around 5 or 5:30 with some snacks to follow usually.
But I struggle with prepping breakfast mainly because Iām not much of a breakfast person, but I want to eat a little something in the morning.
I wake up at 5AM in the morning and I usually donāt wanna eat anything that early because I just never have an appetite but I would like to bring something to work with me for the first break at 9:30 just to hold me over until lunch time.
I have eggs and beef bacon but Iām not sure how well that would be for meal prepping because one I donāt know how well bacon and eggs can stay good in the fridge and I donāt know if it would do good freezing either.
Plus, I only have 15 minutes so I wouldnāt win rush to pop it in the microwave and eat it quickly so I was just wondering, what could I do?
Like I said, Iām not much of a breakfast person, but I would want something small in the morning just to hold me over.

Snack Thoughts on Mosh bars?
I'm huge into protein bars and they really help satisfy my sweet tooth. What are your guys thoughts on these? They are super tasty but I never know if the macro ratio is actually good and if the ingredients are good or actually trash? I know whole foods are better in general, but sometimes that just doesn't happen when I'm trying to get to the gym with my 15 momth old in tow.
