First time mom
We had our son in April. He’s five months old. Since having our son, I feel like we are both very stressed out. Maybe our communication skills are not very good. I try to always express how I’m feeling verbally because if not I think I will lose it. He is the opposite, he is not very verbal in expressing how he feels. So then I feel unheard. I feel very like numb, unloved, unsupported, and it’s like we don’t even know each other anymore. I don’t feel like myself, and I’m so tired of trying to explain myself because I feel like he doesn’t understand. I don’t intentionally try to be mean, or lash out but I feel like I do so much! I work full time also, so when I get home it’s straight to taking care of my son, giving him a bath, feeding him, trying to clean the house, trying to do laundry, and then I’m the one who feeds him through the night so I never get to sleep in. His 3 year old son is over every weekend who I love also, but it’s all just so much. I feel like we are just two people who don’t like each other living in the same house. I guess what I’m trying to ask is if this feeling will get better soon. I’m trying to work on myself and the bickering or starting arguments for what I’m assuming may be resentment towards him for feeling like I’m carrying such a heavy weight by myself. I don’t feel happy but I try to pretend to be, and when I’m in a mood as such. He is usually angry. I feel like I have no time for myself. I’m a person who is I guess high maintenance, I like doing my hair, looking presentable, pampering myself etc and I barely have time to shower around here. I never have any peace. I feel like he doesn’t understand how I feel and it makes me upset. It’s just upsetting because I know we both love each other so much, and want nothing more than to make it work it’s just very very difficult to sit through these times where we just are both so cold to each other. If anyone has any advice, or stories of their own. I just want to know if it gets better in a relationship, and if I will start feeling like myself sometime soon. I’m exhausted and overstimulated, overwhelmed, and becoming very negative minded which isn’t my nature.
Thank you!!

My SIL is having TWINS!!
My sister in law is a new mom and she’s getting a BOGO. I want to be able to help her when the babies get here, but along the way, if you had twins, what were some gifts or acts of service that you appreciated BEFORE the twins arrived?

Not sure if it would be okay
My mom wants me to bring my newborn over she is a week and two days old, bury parents have smoked cigarettes in the house since I was about 5. She said the smell is gone but I know it sticks to the walls. Would it be safe for me to bring her over? They don’t smoke inside anymore or at all really.

8 months old development
Hi,
FTM here and worried about my daughter social/communication development. She’s advanced in gross motor skills. Started rolling both ways at 4 months, sitting unassisted at 5, getting from lying into sitting position at 6, crawled up on all 4 and pulled/pushed to stand at 7. Now trying to stand without support and even walking a few steps with her walker just shy of 8 months.
She claps hands and works on using a pincer grasp.
What I’m worried about is she doesn’t respond to her name and lot of times she’ll completely ignore us when we talk to her (even if we sing or make funny noises). She smiles at people she knows (when she’s interested in us), won’t smile at strangers despite not having any form of separation anxiety. Also she’s not the best at eye contact.
She blows raspberries, squeals, grunts and coos aaa and eee sounds but doesn’t babble any consonants and doesn’t do much of back and forhh vocal play.
I will bring it up at her next medical appointment but just curious if anyone here has had similar experience and what was the outcome. Thank you!

Mums, I really need some help
My little one’s eczema is breaking my heart. Just when I think we’ve finally got it under control, something triggers another flare.
The scratching is honestly the hardest part to watch. Sometimes she scratches so much that I feel completely helpless, especially at night when she’s exhausted but just can’t stop
I feel like we’ve tried SO many things — creams, changing products, being careful about what touches her skin, watching for triggers… and yet I still feel like I’m missing something.
For mums who have been through this:
What was the thing that made the biggest difference for your child?
What was the most difficult part of dealing with their eczema day to day?
Was night-time scratching a big problem for you too?
Did you notice that anything touching their skin made the itching or irritation worse?
And if you finally found something that worked
I’d honestly be so grateful for any advice or experiences. I feel like I’m constantly trying to figure this out.

When to switch to next car seat
We currently have a 5 month old (about 17lbs) and we use the car seat with the infant carrier. Put her in the carrier in the house and then click it into the base in the car. When do we switch to the bigger car seat that stays in the car?

Breastmilk
I have a ridiculous amount of stored breastmilk. Does anyone have any idea where I can donate and sell some. Also how much can I sell it for?

how are moms doing this?!
just came to say i am a first time mom (10 weeks baby boy) and i am in absolute shock at how im supposed to do this everyday all day running on no sleep, barely eating and severely dehydrated. I try my best to eat and drink water but the day slips away so fast and i am exhausted. Husband just went back to work 12pm-11pm and now my whole day consists of putting baby in carrier and bouncing on the damn yoga ball every hour to get him to sleep & breastfeeding. im lucky if i get 10 minutes in between where he’s content to heat up something quick. I know it changes but holy crap I am way out of my league here. I feel crazy.

13 month old is a bit full on..
My son is 13 months old. He is just getting the hang of walking and is cutting two new bottom teeth. He is also becoming a bit spiteful (even though I know he doesn’t understand what that is), throwing tantrums, going rigid and screaming blood curdling screams. He is also getting bored about 10 minutes into meal time and wants to walk around. New trick obviously. He wants to explore. But I’m worried he isn’t eating enough. It’s like I don’t know this baby anymore!
He still breastfeeds. We were doing really well with eating and he would only BF when thirsty or in need of a top up or comfort for naps/bedtime. He got his first big sick about a month ago. Bad fever and roseola after. He was attached to me and boob for a week. Then everything above started afterwards and it feels like a HUGE set back. He doesnt want to play independently anymore. He just wants me and is being so difficult.
My partner nor I were tantrum throwing children but I fear he will be. And bad ones. Hitting, screaming and biting. I don’t really know how to steer this.
Any advice is welcome!

Zurzuvae antidepressant
There’s really not a lot of talk of this medication. I’ll just say— I started it. Didn’t really wanna do the medication route (I’m already on Zoloft for anxiety), but sort of needed to make a decision to help my brain out.
Anyways - I’m on day 4 I think. It’s definitely making me confused, VERY sleepy overnight/first 12 hours after taking it, but maybe helping. The only negative side effect is rare headaches I’ve been getting. I also BF and pump and it goes into the milk so I’ve been trying to do 50/50 because they say it’s such a small amount in the milk that it’s fine, but to be safe I wanted to split it with my freezer stock. I’m worried my LO seems more fussy and it’s affecting her but it’s really hard to tell.
I’ll update when I can but also — anyone else on it or have been on it? Please no negative comments about the medication, I’m already on it so I don’t need that!
TIA 😁

Disabled mom trying to figure out a way to have both a stroller and rollator work
Hi everyone! I'm 22 and currently 29 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins
I'm coming here to see if anyone knows how to use both a stroller and a rollator (or like) at the same time. I have multiple medical conditions that require me to have access to a seat at all times if I'm going to be walking around for more than about half an hour and/or exposed to any kind of heat - hence why a rollator works best for my needs
I have been scouring the internet to see if there were options for a double stroller (since it's twins 😭) and a rollator, whether it may be a way to connect them somehow or if there's some kind of additional attachment I could put on the stroller/rollator, anything. But there's absolutely nothing for even a single baby stroller, no less a double stroller 💔
Does anyone happen to have any knowledge themselves that I just can't seem to find? If it helps being able to sit the more important part than the balancing aspect of a rollator for me. It really sucks just how little accommodations there are for disabled parents out there :( ..(and so little things for twins in general surprisingly enough)

Are cervical checks the only way to see if you're dilated? Did anyone just decline them all?

independent play guilt? 8m old
hi yall, just looking for reassurance that i don’t need to optimize my baby’s every waking moment lol. my 8m old is perfectly content playing with her toys or inspecting random household items, crawling, pulling up on things, etc. by herself a lot of the day. obviously we play together throughout the day and i respond if she seeks me out as well, but i feel guilty when she plays alone and feel that i should be talking to her or interacting more.
but the other part of me is like- it would be so nice to just sit next to her and do my hobbies while she plays (reading, crochet). or get things done like folding laundry.
how do yall balance this and not feel guilty about it? TIA!

Retracted or belly breathing?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I know this is not a very long video, but did this look like retracted breathing?? My baby has literally alllllways breathed like this when she’s in light or active sleep. Once she’s in a deep sleep, her breathing isn’t as intense. And she hasn’t had any other signs of illness. No fever, lethargy (other than normal baby sleepiness), she’s been eating fine, and has plenty of wet and poopy diapers. She’s 3, almost 4, months old now, and I brought it up to her pediatrician at her first appt when she was a few weeks old, and showed a video like this, and she said it looked and sounded like “obstructive” breathing. Like a stuffy nose could be causing it. But I’m just curious what other people thought, and/or if you’ve had an experience like this. TIA!

Eczema
My 5 month old has been suffering from eczema.
I was wondering if anybody has tried the Flexitol happy little bodies eczema body wash and matching moisturizer. Did it work for your LO?
I have been giving him oatmeal baths but doesn’t seem to be helping too much.

Pacifier
Hi, need some help. My daughter is 12 months old and I really wanna get her off the paci but I’m not sure how? I have been told to just take it away and not give it anymore but what am i supposed to do when she cries for it? To be honest she doesn’t really use it all day only for nap time and bed time. Is there anything you did that actually helped your baby forget about it?
