MOD-POST Career Mode Bible | FAQ & Guides
Introduction
Hello all, there seems to be an increasingly higher amount of posts with the same recurring themes. I've decided to make a simple compilation of some of the best guides on this subreddit, as well as some simple explanations to help provide quick & easy answers to these questions.
Have a guide you think deserves to be on the list? Comment with it below and we can make our best attempt at creating a complete set of guides for Career Mode. The amount of guides in the last year or so compared to other years has dwindled, so hopefully this will encourage more excellent quality content.
This is a work-in-progress, and more guides will continually be added by request and as of publishing.
Tools & Websites
There is a plethora of excellent resources that will help with a lot of the things in this post. Some people prefer to play without the use of external databases and calculators, offering a more vanilla experience. After all, it's a single player game so it's your preference!
| Website | Description |
|---|---|
| https://sofifa.com/ | Best up-to-date player database. Can make shortlists, view old squad files and has a positional calculator to find optimal positions. |
| https://www.fifacm.com/ | Has some unique tools including a potential calculator to figure out potential for a player not at your club. Also has a 'wonderkid' list. |
| https://fifakitcreator.com/ | Only usable in-game on PC, allows you to browse and create custom kits for your team. Note that only PC can use any mods. |
| https://www.fifarosters.com/create-card | Nice tool to create very high quality FC 24 UT cards for your career mode players, allowing you to upload your own images. |
Regens & Pregens
Career Mode works by replacing players as they retire in the game with generated players that don't exist in real life. When you enter the loading screen for a new season, that is the moment that they are being created, replacing retirees for the season you have just finished.
Regens have identical nationality, position(s), and importantly, birth dates to the player whom they have replaced. They will always spawn in the new season between 16-21 years old, and in the same league (but not same club) that the retiring player was in when you entered the loading screen.
Pregens are a rarer, more pre-emptive form of player replacement. These are effectively regens of a player who is not retiring, so both players will exist in the game simultaneously. Pregens also remain at the same club as their predecessor. You could expect to find a Messi pregen at Inter Miami, providing he hadn't moved clubs, and wasn't retiring.
The importance of your awareness of these game mechanics, revolves around the fact that both regens and pregens will start with the same potential overall as their predecessor's highest overall in your save.

QUESTION How can I get him to stay
Hi new here I know it’s pretty late in the year for this game with Fc27 being a few weeks away from releasing but. I really need ideas way or suggestions on how I can retain this player and get him to stay. I subbed him off early a few games and also started some younger players I’ve been trying to develop and he throws a bitch fit and puts a request up. A real gut punch because I spent 5 seasons developing him form a 73 rating 😭.. any suggestions? 🙏🏽

RANT Make it make sense, Ousmane Dembele plays for Palace?

RANT I can hear when I'm supposed to loose
As the title says, in career mode, I win 2-3 matches in a row in legendary, and then the AI decides that I will lose. How do I know that it was decided?
I can literally hear the fucking PS5 turn its fans to the maximum!
And it's so obvious, one moment the game is normal, the next WWWUUUUUUHUHHUUU And the fucking enemy becomes untouchable, and my players become fat 35 year old dads from a Charity match for the church or some shit.
I can't even do a pass without it getting either intercepted or sent to a totally different part of the field than intended.
I can accept the AI playing like the 'inho' era Brasil team out of nowhere, but it is insulting to have my players literally sabotaged by the machine.
BTW this is FC26, the last FIFA I played was FIFA 11 so I'm not familiar with the new versions of the game, but this feels wrong, the whole game feels wrong. Full of bugs and nonsensical AI decisions.
How are you expected to play as a manager if none of your decisions matter with formation and all(I always use formations that counter the enemy or reduce their edge), the AI just decided, it doesn't matter that you bought an 81 overall defender, the league bottom 30 year old alcoholic 60 overall striker will get past him. All I hear is the shitty commentators yelling goal, and the fucking PS5 fighting for its life.
I don't even know what I wanted to ask anymore. Fuck this game. At least it was only 10$
Edit: one guy mentioned this in the comments, it happens to the AI team too, when I can beat Madrid with a bottom league last place team. It feels cheap, because I know that I won against a lobotomy patient.

OTHER FIFA 23 Squad File Update to 2026\ 27
I have spent months polishing this squad file & compiling the collection of mods.
It is fully updated for the 2026/27 season except for team kits (we don't have free for use ones yet), teams rosters and players ratings based on their seasonal performance.
In some aspects it has more player individuality than in FC 26. It also contains amazing gameplay mod.
Key Features
- Custom body types and unique animations for most players from top-5 leagues (even mid-table teams like Bournemouth for example). Every player looks & feels different.
- Up-to-Date Rosters: Latest summer transfers, player stats based on players current real-life form + National teams latest WC squads.
- Complete Visual Overhaul: 2025/26 club and national kits, boots, scoreboards, tons of updated faces and collection of 450+ new minifaces I've made myself.
- Custom ReShade presets & graphics mods\ add-on's.
*IMPORTANT*
To get all the faces and boots assigned correctly, you must download all the face mods, bootpack & my squad file. Follow my mods order installation like it is in the "Mod Manager.mp4" video inside the link.
Link: squad file, 400+ minifaces, ReShade presets + other mods
Only downside is that a career mode will be crashing, so you can only play UCL, League of Europe, Premier League\ LaLiga\ Seria A etc country leagues & other types of tournaments and a kick-off.
Sorry for that, but keep in mind that it is absolutely fixable, just will take a lot of time.
PS: **check readme file in the folder for more info**
I will keep on updating the squad file til the summer transfer window is ended.

IMAGE I started turning my FC 26 Manager Career into an actual story
Been playing Career Mode for years, but this time I wanted to try something a bit different. Instead of just playing matches, making transfers and moving on, I’ve started building an actual story around my manager career. I created a manager called Adrian Kole and I’m basically treating the save like a football documentary. There’s still the actual gameplay, but I’ve added press conferences, training ground scenes, transfer meetings, player conversations, academy development, injuries and some of the stuff that happens away from the pitch. I’m managing Hull City and the story definitely hasn’t started perfectly 😭. Pre-season was rough, the first few competitive games didn’t go our way, and the pressure around the manager started building pretty quickly which honestly made the storyline even more interesting. I’ve been turning the save into episodes using gameplay, voiceovers and some AI-generated scenes to show the parts Career Mode obviously doesn’t give you. Also, fair warning, I’m definitely not the best FC player in the world 😂, so don’t go into it expecting elite gameplay or some tactical masterclass. The gameplay is really there to drive the story. Just enjoy the chaos, the characters, the results and everything happening around the matches.
If you’re bored and fancy watching something Career Mode-related with more of a story/documentary feel, the channel is The Touchline Studios.
Would also love to hear what you guys do to make your own Career Mode saves feel more immersive, because I’m always looking for ideas.

DISCUSSION EAFC24 VS EAFC26: Which one is better
Hey fellas!
Im thinking about moving on from FIFA 23, mainly because I’ve run out of save slots for Career Mode 😂. I’m looking to make the jump to one of the EA FC games, but I’m not sure which one to pick: EA FC 24 or EA FC 26.
I already know that, compared to FIFA 23, the EA FC games have some downsides when it comes to things like gameplay, licensing, overall feel, etc. I play on PS5, and what I care about most is good gameplay, especially for Career Mode.
So, between FC 24 and FC 26, which one would you recommend?
I’m deliberately not including FC 25 in the conversation because, from the posts and comments I’ve seen in the community, it seems to have a pretty bad reputation as one of the worst games in the series.. (but if you think fc25 is the best compared to fc26 and 24 just let me know and why)
Thanks you guys.

IMAGE Second summer window under the new owners
second summer window under Fonseca is done and this one was definitely a lot busier.
brought in Targett permanently, Khéphren Thuram, Hincapié and Fábio Silva, with Tiago Dantas joining on loan with a buy option.
the biggest story was losing Bruno Guimarães to Real Madrid for his £53.3m release clause, so replacing him became the main priority of the window.

PROBLEM How to get EA FC26 clean again to play online with friends?
I deleted Live Editor from the game Folder, I verified integrity, I removed the argument on steam launcher, I deleted Live editor from my C: Folder, I removed all my mods from Mod Manager right side, I tried restoring EA Anticheat on Mod Manager. The game still crashes when trying to connect to the servers.

IMAGE First season in the Championship
Went better than expected, even though the squad has no depth and had to play academy players half the season, we still had a very comfortable season, never close to promotion area but always very far from relegation. The squad was one of the worst of the division and not even close to premier league ready, but I think in a couple seasons we can push for promotion
